Title: MTV Fancasts The Animorphs :)
Post by: Dylan on September 27, 2015, 06:53:19 PM
I'm still kinda bummed that the whole Animovie turned out to be fake :( While I'm pretty it sure it won't happen, I'm gonna hope for one anyway. Anyway I searched animorphs under the news thing for google, and I found this funny but pretty much on point fancast of the characters on MTV's website  (http://www.mtv.com/news/2281900/animorphs-fancast/). ;D  That got me thinking about casting for the unlikely movie. Who would cast (and no it can't be unkowns, I can't make fanart out of unkowns) and why? Do you like the MTV fancast?

(Also, I totally called the whole Marco played by Tyler Posey thing a couple of months ago cough cough :YeerkSalad: cough cough)

I mean, I guess it's ok. I don't know who most of those people are. I tend not to trust MTV with anything though.

They're all way too old, & glitzy model-y looking.

We just need a time machine, simple!  :P  Go back to the early 90s & get teenage 3rd Rock From The Sun Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Marco and Aerosmith-era Alicia Silverstone as Rachel and stuff.

Bing bam boom.

But even then, they're too old.  CASTING LE IMPOSSIBLE!

Fans signed a petition for the Marco model for the re-release being too white wash and not Mexican looking enough. No way they'd be ok with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Ehh, it's left pretty vague in the books.  And yeah, he was never "Mexican" anyway was he?  I think Eva was from further south.

I've got no idea of Levitt's heritage either way, but Marco's mixed, he could have any sort of look.  The books just say he takes after his mom more than his dad, dark hair/eyes and such.

Hey, I agree with you. But a lot of fans are really adamant about Marco being visibly not Caucasian -and I also understand their reasons, too.

Yeah, I get it, you want some diversity on the team.  But I mean with Cassie, and knowing Marco's half-Latino, I think it's enough.

Sort of seems demanding some uber-Mexican-looking guy is a little offensive in itself, though.  I don't even think Gordon-Levitt's of latin background anyway, so I get that complaint, you'd probably want to cast someone with some of that actual heritage, but yeah.  Definitely has the look (and hell, personality, in those early sitcom shows) Marco's described with.

Silverstone when not in Clueless-mode would have nailed that valley-girl-exterior-with-a-warrior-heart thing, too.  With the snarkiness to boot.

Visser One was described a "dark Hispanic woman" in various books.
I would have never associated Cher Horowitz = Rachel. Interesting fancast, but I see it.

Always thought that Michael Angarano dude in that goofy Disney movie Sky High from like 10 years ago had a real "Erek" vibe about him too.
