Title: RAF In Real Life
Post by: radgeek on January 03, 2011, 12:42:01 AM
This is me thinking about what would happen if we became our RAF personas.  I don't fully know where I'm going with this and I'll need to pick some more brains but I think posting the for chapter won't hurt.

Christina sat stiffly-nosed at the bar.  She hoped that her disguise would hold.  Her sneeze was easily identifiable.
“I bet if I were to offer you a drink you won't take it,” a voice said from behind her.
Merlin, she thought with held-back emotions of hate. He would find me.  “What makes ya so sure?”
“You have Christina's cell phone,” he explained.  “Everyone else here has enough money for a 3G phone.  What name are going by tonight?”
Christina scoffed.  “Josefina Woodhouse.”  She had used the name to get past security and into the party with the Cabal, or Merlin's political followers, to listen in on their conversations.
“I have another offer for you,” Merlin said.
Christina groaned.  “You always have an offer that somehow ends with someone being blackmailed.  Yvonne learned that the hard way.  I won't make that mistake.”
“There are no downsides to this deal,” Merlin said in a convincing tone.  “I happen to know your deepest dream.”  He pulled out a blue cube.
Christina laughed at the sight of the morphing cube.  “I'll humor you.  You are offering the biggest spy that know the ability to be come a literal fly on the wall.  No, you must mean to trap me in morph or something.”
“Well, I must have guessed your dream wrong because I have no idea what you are talking about.”
He was as old as the hills with no children so Nina was really not surprised.  “You're right, since you're not even close.  Because if this was my dream all I would have do is touch the box...”  Christina trailed off as she felt a tingle go down my spine as she touched the box.  “You know what, I'm going.  All of your offers have bad endings.”
“Let me help you with your coat,” Merlin offered.
Christina snatched her plain long black coat away.  “Mitts off!”  She knew my cover was blown so she felt free to be myself.  “Whatever you're up to I refuse to be a part of it.”  Christina stormed out and retreated to the dirt and scum of the Subway.
Merlin's lips twisted in to satisfied smile.  “But you are, Christina.”

Stephquiem, also known as Steph, and A Ghost You Know were typing away in the Bored Board in Richard's Animorph Forum.  It was a party so every post counted toward there post count goals.
Ghost > I ban you for having a higher post count then me.
Steph > I ban you because I'm not number one yet.
Bear > I ban you for not reading the Our Summer Vacation thread. (He had just logged on and jumped in to the insanity of the board.)
Ghost > I ban you for posting while I was typing.
Steph > I ban you for not typing faster.
Ghost > I ban you because that it's not my fault.
Bear > I ban you to ask if anyone has seen Rad.
Steph > I ban you because she has not been on for hours and missing good posting time.
Bear > I ban you to thank you.
Ghost > I ban both of you for posting while I was typing.
-----
Merlin gathered his closest cabal members around.  “She will have powers too, but a member of her rank was needed to contract the virus.”  He had yet to get to Hero Member status and couldn't wait.
“Isn't that dangerous?” Easten asked.  “She protects Yvonne with her life.”
“She will lose her creditability when she claims to carry a Tok'ra,” Merlin explained.  “All of you made a few posts to establish your personas?”
His three companions nodded.
“I'll make the post with the cyber version on the virus to her thread,” said Merlin as he pulled out his Blackberry.  “When she views it the the to viruses will transform us.”
------
Josh, or Bear as he was known on RAF, kept posting in the Bored Board but opened another window to look at the Profile Threads.  He knew what Rad called “work” and thought that she might be in danger some nights.
“I'm far more likely to be mugged in the subway,” he could remember her saying.  “They don't want to kill me they just want to make my life so hard that I'll have no choice but to hand it over to them.  I'm perfectly safe.”
Still no post from her, he thought.  Wait! There is a new post in her thread.  He saw that latest virus bearing post.

Yeerks-O-Lot>  My offer to voice Wintium/Laurence for the OSV audio play still stands.  It was nice to see you tonight even if you were in character.

Wow, she must gotten close to blowing her cover, Josh thought before typing his reply.

Bear>  You met Rad.  I'm jealous.  I didn't know you were from her area.
-----
Christina came home and went up the creaky steps to room only to had a coughing fit on the landing.  She ran to her grandma's kitchen to get a spoonful of mustard to get rid of the feeling of having a cotton ball in her throat.  “I hate being sick.”
She uncoiled her braid black hair.  She would wash the temporary dye tomorrow morning.  Of course, the only reason she wanted to do that was so she could log on to RAF before falling asleep.  Her favourite RPGs were the first thing she checked.  She could only type up a response in one before bed and choose Introduction Randomness, where she played herself.  In a way...

Rad >  Rad her lost control of her ship and her body.  Now locked inside her mind by Ma'at, her only way to communicate with the outside world was Gymn.  Don't fight David.  Go back to RAF and tell them that I've been captured by David.  Leave out the whole captured by Ma'at thing out of it for
now.

Ma'at thought about how Rad was right again.

Christina's RAF persona was a mostly willing host to a Goa'uld named Ma'at.  She thought that being a Goa'uld character on an Animorphs forum made her different.
She saw the online light next to Bear's name was lit up.  I might hit another RPG that we are in together, she thought.
Next stop for her was the profile threads.  Oh, new posts in my thread.  She clicked her thread and started to feel a ripping feeling inside her.  She read Yeerks' post before it became unbearable.  Her eyes began to blur and burn.  She ran to the bathroom to remove the the contacts in her eyes.  You had to wear them, she scolded herself.  As soon as her lenses were, out she fell to the floor with the room spinning around her.
<<What is happening?>> a voice inside her head shouted.  A voice that Christina had imaged countless times before.
<<Ma'at?>> she asked back.
-----
Merlin smiled.  He had given the cabal his plan and began to feel the changes over take him.  His eyesight was the first to go.  The sound of the gasps of the cabal was the last thing he heard.  His arms and legs disappeared; in fact, most of what made him different from a slug had disappeared.  He had become a Yeerk.

I read it earlier and really enjoyed it. Some detail perhaps on the last section, though. good job, though.

A Leeran, a Chee and an Andalite Walk in to a Bar

Not much time was spent in the last chapter on the cabal, so now you should meet them and learn why they serve the political consultant Merlin.  The most recognizable was state senator Silver, a golden-haired man. But now, he was turning in to an Andalite.  His arms became weaker as his stalk eyes extended; another pair of legs came out of his chest. As soon as he became comfortable on his hooves he brought his tail forward to test the blade on his blue finger.  It was sharper that he had imagined.
The next most powerful was chairman Easten, who was becoming a Leeran.  As his skin was turning yellow and his arms were turning into tentacles. He kept listening for the thoughts he was anticipating.  Then he nearly leaped out of his new skin when the voices came.  His new job was to hear the directions given by Merlin while he was in his new form.
The last was a lawyer in the employment of Easten that went by the name of Deli.  His skin became metal and ivory as he morphed Chee.
Silver was the first to get over the shock enough to speak.  <What are Merlin's next instructions?> he asked Easten.
Easten closed his eyes to filter through the thoughts his mind was being bombarded with.  Silver and I are to acquire our human forms from the blood vials that we took earlier, while Deli caries him.  After that we infest Yvonne with him.
-----
Rad left a farewell post in her thread explaining what she thought had happened to her and that she thought that she was going crazy. She planned to stay off RAF for her mental health. PM “whispers” floated around the cyber space that the forum occupied.  No one believed her, but they all entertained the thought.  J-Angel, or just J for short, started a thread called “If I became my RAFpersona...” where members contemplated what would happen to them if they turned into their persona.
A week passed with no changes to any more members.  Enough time had passed though so that the virus learned its way around the parameters that Merlin had placed on it to keep it from effecting the other RAFians.  It wanted to spread and it chose its next victim.
-----
Beth pushed her homework aside for the moment.  RAF was calling her name.  J's thread was on top of her unread post list when she logged on.

J-man> It happened to me.  I'm a grammar angel.
donut> i'm all wrong.  why am I a bird/
Myitt> Ok, I don't want to you to think I'm crazy but I'll need a Yeerk pool in three days.  How can you type?
donut> with my beak.  notice that I haven't been using shift.

Beth's eyes widened.  This made no sense.  How could this happen?  She went to type a reply when her fingers began to melt in to flippers.  “There is no way I'm going crazy too!”  She went to stand up only to fall on her belly because her legs had turned into a tail.  “Tim!” she called. Because her brother wasn’t a RAFian, he would be unchanged.
But she wasn't even at home any more.  Wherever she was, she was not alone.
“Point!” A female voice said.  She was dressed in white and had a mesh mask on, like her opponent.  Said opponent remand frozen in mid block.  “Tara?” she said looking at a woman with a narrow face.
The woman addressed answered, “She's here too.  It was like my continence was being split in two and became different persons.”
The fencer took off her mask; her face was in shock.  “I'm in a room with everything frozen and RAFians come out of nowhere.  What's next, the Ellimist?”
A man appeared in the room.  “You would be correct, Rad.  Even if I'm adjusting to my powers.”
“You're Rad,” Seal said for the first time since she had arrived.  “So you were telling the truth.”
A green dragon poofed close to Rad.  She picked him up before continuing.  “Yes, so I don't think it was overkill for me to poof, right?”
We all, even a boy Seal didn't recognize, shifted our feet.  “It was pretty crazy, Rad,” the new boy said.
The Ellimist, whose screen name Grimluk, raised his hands.  “We do need to stop this.  For each person that has changed here I'm giving them a person that you must keep from logging on, except Rad.  She's a mother now.”
“Wait,” Ma'at said, looking at the dragon in her host's arms.  “I can't take Gymn to Rad's house.  She has parents that will ask questions.”
Seal cringed at the sound of Ma'at's voice.  It was lower than Rad's already too low voice and distorted, while hinting at Rad's voice.
“Who am I keeping offline?” the boy asked.
“J,” Grimluk said.  “I'm sending you to Texas to watch your RAFbother, Bear.”
J was wide eyed.  “I don't know what he looks like.  How will I find him?”
“You'll know,” Grimluk answered.  “All transformed RAFians will know other RAFians even if they aren't transformed.”
Seal looked back at J to see that he was gone.
“Myitt, you can keep Terenia offline”
“But she's staff...”
“I know what I'm talking about.”
“He is the Ellimist,” Gymn said.
Rad jumped a bit.  “I thought that you'd be mute with only telepathy to communicate.”
Gymn tilted his head to one side and looked at Rad.  Seal could imagine that they were talking to each other telepathically.
Donut pointed to where Myitt had been standing.  “She's gone too.”
“I'm starting to think that is how it works,” Seal said.  “We get sent to wherever the other RAFians are whether we want to go or not.”
“I have to do it before the rules of the Ellimist kick in,” Grimluk said.
“What?!”
The truth was coming to Seal.  Adam, the real name behind the screen name, wasn't fully Ellimist yet.  The changes happen over a period of time.  She began to make a bubble of healing water, only to find herself drained of energy.
“Donut, you will keep Este preoccupied,” Grimluk said, massaging his temples.  As Donut went Seal saw that he was looking strained.
“Send me there,” Seal said.  “Don't explain. I can see the rules are kicking in.”
Grimuluk nodded and, with effort, pushed Seal to her new location.
She looked around her and saw him with his phone out.  Blue had typed the URL for RAF already.  “Stop!”
-----
Yvonne started crying.  Merlin had slithered out of her ear again for Kandrona from Deli's Kandrona ray generator.  “You can't get away with this.”
“Well, we are,” Silver said as kept his tail blade pointed at Yvonne.  “You gave the best speech I ever heard at the nominations dinner.  Announcing that you could no longer run for any public office takes guts.  Did Christina have an idea of what was happening?”
Easten put a grin on his frog-like face.  He had been demorphed during the speech a few nights ago. Both of her minds didn’t even have any inkling of what we were doing.
“She's keeping her cover too well,” Deli observed.  We might need to post a quote from her what she wrote in her personal thread when it happens to her on the Begging Questions blog.”
Merlin agrees, Easton said, approaching the computer and touching the keys with his tentacles.  I'll look at the post to get the URL and get inspired.
“No one believes your blog,” Yvonne shouted.  “Especially if you post something like this.  We'll shrug it off as always.”
At the name of the “Shrug it Off,” the opposing blog in the Brooklyn Blog War, Deli winced.  Yvonne knew that Merlin hated the mention of the blog and was likely yelling in the Chee's head.
The whole forum will believe because it’s happening to the rest of them, Easton said slowly.
Deli's hologram changed to Merlin's form filled with anger on his face.  “How did that happen?”

RAFians All Around

“Bear!”
Josh was getting into his car after work when he saw J sitting in the passenger’s seat.  “Who are you?  How did you get in my car?”
“I’m J from RAF. It was the Ellimist.” J said.  “He sent me here to keep you off RAF.”
Josh studied J's face.  He looked like the J and sound like him.  “Hold on a cotton pickin' minute, what?”
“Rad was right,” J said.  “I'm an angel now.”
“Riiiiight,” Josh said doubt filling his voice.  “Prove it.”
J brought his hand in front of him and made it glow slightly.
“That's it,” Josh said.  “You glow.  You could have all sorts of fancy powers and all you do is glow.”
J shrugged.
“So I shouldn't log on to RAF because if I do I'll turn in to a Bear with lightning powers,” Josh said.  “It’s still insane.”
“I'm in Texas,” J said slowly.  “There are a lot of RAFians here.   Could we go see them?”
Josh rolled his eyes.  “Unless you can glow and teleport, I don't think so.  Texas is a big place.”
-----
Ma'at's host went home after fencing with a dragon in her backpack.  She didn't want her family to see him till she was fully able to explain why she was a single mother of a child of a different species.  She would have to tell them that about being a host too.  Ma'at was even willing to exit from Rad in front her parents to prove that this was real.  But still this wouldn't be easy.
Her cellphone started ringing as she put Gymn in her room.  “This is the best I can do for now.  Don't touch anything, please.”  She took out her phone.  “Hello?”
“What are you? Insane?!” Muhammad shouted form the other side of the line.
Is that a ribbon device? Gymn's thoughts drifted to Ma'at's host.
“Hello to you too,” Ma'at said sharply with a human voice.  “What makes you say that today?”
“Begging Questions posted a story about you this time,” Muhammad said.  “They found a place where you claim to be a host to a creature from Stargate.”
Ma'at couldn't help cursing in Goa'uld.  “I was hoping no other that RAFians could see that.”
“I had to sign up to see the post,” Muhammad explained.  “Do you mind explaining what you were thinking?”
Ma'at's mind began to race.  What if the writers of Begging Questions had RAFian powers as well?  Either way, the fact that she was now two different people in one body was her main concern too.  “I have one idea but I'll need to do this in person.”  And hopefully only once, she thought as Rad rubbed her neck.
-----
Marie peeked out from behind a dumpster to see if the cost was clear before running behind a parked van.  I just need to get to the house of another RAFian, she thought as she dodged her way through the street of Houston. Terenia's house is closest.
She got near the stoop to see Terenia's husband run out of the house.  But every time Marie looked at him something in her brain said that she was Terenia. <Brian, it’s me. Marie.>
He turned around to see a fox looking up at her.  “Quick, get in the car,” he said as he opened the door to his car.
Marie jumped in and crawled her way over to the passenger’s seat.  <Have you seen Jessi today?>
The man looked at Marie with sad eyes.  “He screamed the whole time I was changing.  I don't know who long I was helpless on the floor before he picked me and held me up to his ear.  I've invaded this man's brain.”
Marie blinked.  <So I'm too late.>
She nodded.  “I was about to check on goom. He's an administrator so he should know about this. I called him and he said he was going to try to shut down the site,” Terenia explains.  “I didn't tell him who I really was when I spoke to him.”
<Is shutting down the site the right thing to do?> Marie asked.
Terenia did a strangely feminine head tilt.  “If this has happened to other people before RAFians, we could ask them.  But I highly doubt it has.  We're trail blazing a path that I think only RAFians could blaze.”
-----
“Jude, I need to speak to the broad members at my house ASAP,” Christina's voice said over the phone.  “I must address the last Begging Questions atrial to you in person.”
He jumped slightly as a hand pressed something wet to his phone free ear.  His last free action was to look over his shoulder to see Deli behind the hologram of his boss.
A voice took over in his head.  <<I'm just in time for the big meeting then.>>  “I'm leaving to take the train now,” Jude's voice said on its own.  “I have seen the post yet.  I'll read it on the way.”
-----
Josh drove home. He needed to do the same thing that J was doing: stopping RAFians from logging on to RAF.  He needed a computer for that since he couldn't travel.  “J,” Josh said.  “Go to those woods over there so I can send out some warnings to RAFians by Skype.  I only hope I'm not too late.”
“Grimuluk seemed to have all things in hand,” J said.  “I don't want to go in the woods.”
“You can't go in the house,” Josh said.  “One of the kids would see you and call Mom.  I don't know what she'll think about this.”
J had not thought about his family yet.  It was about ten in the evening back home and his family would start to wonder where he was.  The only member of his family that would even get close to guessing where he was Tina. But she was only three and would guess he was gone to Rad, wherever she lived.
-----
Bryce spun around and saw the Seal on the ground.  He cursed before looking at the animal in the eye.  “Did you just say something?”
The Seal rolled her eyes.  “It’s me, Seal, from RAF.  Something is wrong with the site.”
Bryce looked blankly at the Seal.  “Did Queen put a virus on it?”
“No,” the Seal said, shaking her head.  “I mean... you don't think that she could do something like this?  I don't think she could really do what she does in my fics.”
“No, but...” Bryce said, pinching himself.  “This isn't a RAF dream?  You're really a Seal.”
“Yes, Rad and I aren't the only ones.  I saw Gymn, J, Myitt, and donut all as their RAFpersonas.  We should check on Queen either way.”
Bryce was still in shock and not fully processing the event.  “I guess we could.  But how would we find her?”
“I can teleport now,” Seal smiled and offered him her flipper.

Chapter 4

“I didn't know that this was a costume party,” Merlin said when Rad opened the door for him in full Ra'at (Rad & Ma'at) garb.  He wasn't expecting to find her in a gold buttoned up dress with a belt full of her Goa'uld technology and a sword.  “I would have come dresses as a leprachun if I had known.”
“Yeerks O'lot?” Rad said looking at Jude.  “Sorry, Grimluk has given RAFians the ability to recognize each other.  You should have told me you were a RAFian.  I would have asked you to play a part in the Our Summer Vacation audio drama.”
I can't host hope then, Merlin said.  She'll spot me if I change.  “I didn't know about how I could help,” he said.  “Sounds like you know what you're doing.”
“Thank you,” she said, smiling.  “It was your voice that I really wanted for a character named Merlin.”
Merlin turned a shade of pink that matched his host's red hair.
<<She's fond you out,>> Jude said.  <<Did she name a Yeerk after you?  That is great!>>
<<It was a voluntary human host,>> Merlin said quietly.  <<I've had to study everything Christina ever wrote about Ra'at to prep for this moment.  OSV kept coming up.>>
“Really? What do we have in common?” he asked.
“Your age, an intest in law,” Ra'at said, “nothing much more.  I just didn't want an evil sounding voice for that part.”
<<Does she like my voice?>> Jude asked.
Merlin suppressed an eye roll.
“Christina, you should have told me you were having guests!” It was her grandmother coming down the steps of her apartment with her newest wig of short, honey blond hair a little cruced on her head.  “I made cookies.”
Ra'at was surprised.  She wasn't going to tell Christina's grandmother.  “You wouldn't be able to understand.”
She must have not heard or didn't care because she kept coming.
“Jude, go to the living room I'll meet you there.”

Indoors, donut moaned to himself.  It's harder to fly indoors.  He flapped his wings, being careful not to brush his wings against anything.  He landed on a window sill to rest to rest and look at the sun and the trees.  Outside was where he belonged.  Where Este was.  He was losing track of how often he had cursed the body that he was now trapped in, yet he cursed it again.
<Este,> he said using his thought speak.  <It's me, donut.>  He gave another sigh.  <The bird.>
Este looked at the trees around her.
<I'm inside this house,> donut said tapping on the glass with his beak.
Este turned to the tapping to see a scarlet macaw sitting on the still.  She started laughing.
<This isn't a joke.>
Este came inside and over to the window that donut was perching on.  “I would have though you would turn into into Donut from Red Versus Blue.”
<That is what I should be,> donut said.  <You know what's happening then.>
“I was just using RAFchat to talk to Dameg,” Este said.  “She's a Yeerk now with three days or less to live.  I don't think we can make Kandrona.”
<Yeah, I don't think McGuiver could fix this.>

Myitt felt like she had been thrown in to the back seat of a moving car.  I guess you could say that she had.  She was in the back seat of Jessi's car with Brian and a fox in the front.  “Where am I?  What-”
<Tara?> Marie said.
Marie identified the fox as Marie.  “She's here too.  You're Marie and Jessi?”
“Yeah it's me,” Brian's voice said.  “How come you got a host and I didn't?”
<<Or you know that we support each other so well that we need each other?>> Tara said to Myitt.
<<Its possible.>>
“I wrote the two of us to work together,” Myitt said.  ”What are we doing?”
<We're driving to Goom's to see if he's shut the site down yet,> Marie said.  <We don't want this to spread.>
“Oh,” Terenia exclaimed.  “Imagine if this happen to World of War Craft.  I wouldn't want to walk the streets anymore.”
“How long have you been driving?” Myitt asked, getting herself comfortable in the backseat.  “He's in a different city.”
<We're almost there,> Marie said.
Myitt looked at the time on the dash and the time on her watch.  “The Ellimist must have left me in a SARIO? rip,” she commented.  “It  was about 1 P.M in bolder when then he took me to whereever Rad is, and gave us that speech about not having RAFians log on, and sending us to where we should go.”
“Wait, Ellimist!”
<You saw Rad?>
Myitt had to tell the other two RAFians about Grimluk and meeting the other RAFians during Rad's fencing lessen.  Meanwhile, the car pulled up Goom's house in time to hear a scream from inside.  Myitt grasped her dracon beam on her belt.
Terenia bolted out of the car to the house.
<I'll stay in the car,> Marie said.
Myitt nodded as she ran out of the car to the door keeping a tight grip on her dracon.
Terenia stopped outside the door and closed Brian's eyes.  “I just sent Goom thought-speak to tell him we were coming.”
A woman opened the door.  “It told me  that you could explain,” she said.  “Hi Tara, what's with the fancy gun?”
“Nothing,” she said putting away the gun.  “I'm guessing that he has turned in to a goomba.”
Goom's mother nodded.

Ma'at and Rad had their plan for the announcement to the family and the club.  Rad would talk first about Gymn and the changes that come with being a mother.  Then after everybody had accepted Gymn and petted him Ma'at would start to talk about herself in the third person and with Rad's human voice.  Then Ma'at would leave her and, as much as Ma'at hated the idea, everybody could touch her and see that she was real or some junk like that.
She stood before her audience of her sister, who was called Humbleness, Rad's mother and father, her grandma, Mohamed, Jude and Steinbrenner.
But Jude had an icebreaker in a plastic bag.  “I brought salsa and chips, Christina.  I know that you get hungry before speeches.”
<<Salsa!>> Rad screamed at Ma'at.
<<I'll have some,>> Ma'at moaned.  <<It's far too spicy for my taste.>>
Rad took back control of her body.  “Thank you, I feel the need have a little now.”  She sunk into the black plastic and opened the bag the bag of chips.  The salt could be felt between her fingers.  She twisted the cap off the salsa and dipped the chip in.  “You should take a seat.  I'm only having one now.”  She moved her hand out of the bag so she could take a bite.
The swelling started before Rad even swallowed.  <<What's happening?>>
Gymn rushed out from underneath the dinning room table and draped over Rad's shoulders.
<<I tasted mango,>> Ma'at said.  <<I've increased the effectiveness of your immune system so you're reacting wost then norma l to your allergy.  I'm going to leave and tell Gymn to reduce the swelling.>>  Ma'at could feel Rad lose oxygen and the flesh between her and Rad's mouth thicken.  <<I'm heading out the back.>>

Are you done with this, or do you plan to keep going? It's seems really good!

Btw, you said something earlier about adding my RAF persona. If you do, I think you know by know I'm a shapeshifter with an affinity for the Rukh form. You don't have to add me, but ifyou do, that's what I am. :P

Picking . . . my brain?  Well, okay, but please be gentle.  :P  And if you see anything in there that looks like Ramen, RUN.

BTW, I am actually reading Intro Rando, and it's pretty epic so far.  Although it's hard to say which is better as they're both awesome.  But you need to stop selling yourself short!  This is a great story!

]RAF Skype should be safe, Josh thought to himself. The mods might have instructions for us RAFians.
He turned on his laptop as his brother, Rat, asked questions about Josh's RPGs.
Since RAFSkype had not had activity since that morning, he sent the first IM in a long time.

Bear>> is anybody there?
Donut>> I'm so glad you're on
Donut>> This isn't Donut by the the way. This is Este. Donut had me log in for him.
Bear>> What happened to him?
Pokey>> Is something up with RAF today?
Donut>> He's a parrot.
Bear>> that's...almost funny...
Bear>> people who logged onto RAF today are being turned in to their personas.
Tyler>> i don't think it did anything to me.
Pokey>> I thought my uni blocked it but that sounds far more serious.
Tyler>> I didn't know that bears could type
Donut>> Something must have happened to you, Ty.
Bear>> I'm still human 'cuz J was sent to stop me from logging on.
Pokey>> Didn't this happen to Rad?
Tyler>> There might be a few more girls crushing on me in real life, but it's nothing dangerous.
Donut>> Yes, it did.
Donut>> *facepalm*
Pokey>> Have we heard from her?

Josh had spoken to her but not about the transformation. He wondered what light she could shed on this.

Bear>> I have her mother's number that I have for emergencies. Should I call it?
Tyler>> Yeah, lets find out how she's doing with Ma'at in her head.

Josh picked up his phone hesitantly. He paid his own bill so the call to New York would hurt. But he dialed nonetheless.

“Seal, you don't need to be seen by her,” Blue said. “Stay out of sight. I'll handle this.”
“I want to stay within ice shooting distance,” Seal said. “If she tries to pull anything I'll put ice between you two.”
“Is something wrong, Seal?” Blue asked.
“No,” Seal said. “Why do you ask?”
“You're not really acting like Beth,” Blue explained. “You have the confidence of your persona right now. Is this going to your head?”
Blue was right in a way. It was like she had morphed and had to deal with the instincts of the animal that she had morphed. Seal knew fear but had gotten out of tight spots before. And besides, this was easy compared to fighting a Realm Walker. “It might be,” she admitted. “It might be Seal's dislike of her I'm feeling too. I must remember that she hasn't logged in to RAF and doesn't have any powers from there.”
“Ok Seal,” Blue said. “You stay here. Don't do anything. I'll to the talking.”
Seal stayed behind a bush while Blue approached Almighty Queen.
“We've been having some cold weather lately,” Bryce said casually. “How long did you think it will last?”
“I wouldn't know, would I?” Queen said.
“Wouldn't it be weird if for some crazy reason that, I don't know, ice started, um, falling from the sky?” Blue's nerves were starting to get the better of him.
“Is there a point to this conversation?” she asked him. “Because you stink at talking about the weather.”
“Do you remember a forum called RAF?” Bryce asked quickly.
“Yes I do,” she said coldly. “What does this have to do with that?”
Blue shuffled his feet. “Uhh...some weird things have happened to the members there,” he said. “They have started turning into their personas.”
Queen jumped up and looked around. “They're after me, then aren't they? Thanks for the warning. Where would be a good idea to hide?”
“You aren't behind it?” Blue asked sounding confused. “We thought you did this.”
“Why would I when the RAFians would come after me in real life?” Queen said. “There is no reason to have the likes of Cloaky and Seal running around normal people. I bet a RAFian did it so he could have power for himself.”
Seal hadn't thought about that. She couldn't think of a member that wanted to be their persona that badly. “Let's go Blue; she doesn't know anything.” She came out of where she was hiding and saw the look on Queen's face. Fear. Seal smiled because she was so much more the human now, she was a RAFian.

A harsh coughing could be heard over the Skype call along with exclamatory shouts. “Snake! Snake!”
“What's that thing around her neck?”
“Kill it! Kill the freakin' thing!”
SQUALK! Assuming it was Ma'at, donut tried to stop them from killing the "snake"--the Goa'uld.
“That sounds like a dying cat,” Tyler commented.
Even if donut knew that Tyler could not see him, he pulled on his facial muscles to seem more threatening. But of course...birds don't have facial expressions.
“Don't kill anything,” Josh said. “What is going on over there Mrs. Geek?”
“Kill Jude!” Rad's voice said as soon as it could speak. “You Yeerk.”
“The mango was a mistake Christina,” a almost squeaky voice that donut didn't know said.
“It wasn't, Yeerks O'lot,” Rad spat. “I'm guessing he has Viks Vapo Rub in his pocket too. Would that be accidental? The Yeerk in your head isn't a part of the man I know as Jude. What is your real name?”
Donut could hear what sounded like a scuffle and a zat gun shot. It would seem that “Jude” was just shot with Rad's zat, so he was unconscious. <You should have used the ribbon device,> donut grumbled. <She could have gotten intel from him that way.>
“Rad, donut said you should have used your ribbon device,” Este said.
“That might hurt Jude and I'm not willing to do that,” Rad explained.
A disapproving squeal came from the computer speakers hurting donut's sensitive macaw ears.
“Ma'at thinks otherwise I see,” Rad said. “I how you don't mind if I don't want to be your host right now.”
<Finally,> donut said with a squawk. <Rad should had learned a long time ago that having someone that can take your body against your will living in your head can't be good.>
“How can she last without a host?” Tyler asked.
Rad sounded sad. “She'll only have a few hours.”
“Then you shouldn't let her die,” Tyler said. “What if the person that you were before dies with Ma'at? Rad going back to normal might mean risking your life a bit. Could you be her host again for me?”
A sound of flesh being torn through could be heard.
“Tyler's done something to mom,” Gymn's voice said. “She's taking Ma'at back.”

Did Pokey log in to RAF and just wasn't affected because she doesn't really have a RAFsona yet?  Or did she not log in?  I was a tad confused there.

I love that AlmightyQueen was in this chapter.  I thought for sure that she'd be some big baddie and then she just wanted to hide from all the RAFians, haha.  Lol, if she tried to log onto RAF, would she cease to exist?

Anyway, great chapter!

(((authers note: Este's character was made before she came out about her head mates.  Her character is based on the person I knew then.  This chapter is dedicated to grandma.  She died while I was writing this chapter where she gets cured.)))

Chapter 6
Yvonne wondered why they were letting her go. She could tell the press or the police but she knew that they wouldn't believe her. Jude was Merlin's host now and he was enslaved, now facing a fate worse than death. Christina—or Rad, or whatever she was—wouldn’t hurt Jude...would she? But that was the only person that would believe her and stop the cabal. That was, if she could.
She tried to go to the Geek house but was stopped by a cabal member. She hadn't seen Gall turned in to a freaky nightmare, but she couldn't doubt that he was one of them now too.
“Yvonne,” he said with a sneer. “What are you doing in this part of the city? You're in the forty-fifth assembly district. This is Christina’s distr—”
“I can walk wherever I want,” she said. “I've had my very head violated by Merlin and I'm going to tell the Geeks what’s going on.”
“What are you talking about?” Gall asked.
Yvonne took her bag and hit him on the side of my head and ran away, hoping that her paranoia wasn't getting the best of her.

To avoid the people and their questions, Blue took Seal by the arm  and moved faster. “Could you teleport us out of here Seal?” Blue asked.
“I need to recover my energy first,” she answered. “Teleporting two people takes a lot out of me.”
“Then I'll try to reach the other RAFians from my cell phone while you rest,” Blue assured. “I won't log on to RAF, I promise.”
Seal nodded but was aware of how a seal didn't belong in city streets. “Ok, I'm starting to get hungry. Is there anything around here a seal can eat?”
“Don't seals eat raw fish?” Bryce asked while making a face. “Can you at least eat it cooked?”
“I hope so,” Seal said as she looked at the shops around. “There’s a restaurant with fish there but I doubt that they will serve me.”
“Could you hide in that fire escape? I'll bring you the food.”
Seal started to rise up on a bubble of water. “Yeah that should work. Just be fast, ok?”
Bryce nodded before going over to the cafe. They had a plate of fried cod fish and fries and thought that Seal would be nice enough to share her fries with him. But when he came outside he was astonished to see meatle (WHAT?) tumbleweeds staking themselves to try to reach the fire escape. “Seal!” He ran closer and was showered with ice shards that Seal was using to fight off the tumbleweeds.
“Get out of here, Blue!” she shouted as her ice forced one of the tumbleweeds off her landing on the fireescape.
“And go where? You’re my ride home!” Bryce took a French fry from the take out bag for getting closer with the snack secured under his shirt. Two of the tumbleweeds turned to him. He swiftly ducked the first one but and other caught him and began to creep its way around him entrapping him in the centre.
“I told you to go,” Seal reproached with a weary voice.
Bryce tried to force himself free of the trumbleweed. “I'm not leaving you!”

Mrs. Geek looked at the small animal that had just called her daughter mom. “That isn't donut's, right?”
“No, and thank goodness I didn't become my RAFSim,” Ma'at allowed her voice to be heard for what it was. ”I would kill Blue if that happened.”
“Donut says you should not have Ma'at till all the mango is out of your system,” Este said to relay donut. “You don't have long till you start reacting again.”
”I can stay long enough to find a new host,” Ma'at said. ”Unless Rad throws up, I'm going to need that. Does anyone here think Humbleness or grandma could be convinced to take me in?”
“That thing is going NOWHERE near me!” Humbleness shot a glare at Ma’at.
Mrs. Geek saw her daughter bend over again and the parasite almost flew to grandma. The sound of flesh being cut so Ma'at could make a path to her brain stem was heard over the shouting. Grandma's eyes were wide with horrour and pain as the parasite took its place.
“She's the cure for cancer,” Rad said with a smile. “If there was time to explain she would have accepted.”
“No,” grandma said when Ma'at was in place. “What is it-she doing?” Her eyes glowed a bit yellow as Ma'at was in able to take control. ”You should be thankful. I'm doing a lot of healing here. I'll only need to be here a few hours.”
“That'll cure her,” Rad said happily. “Grandma, you'll be in perfect health.”
Gymn shot Rad a look. Rad, she's a Goa'uld she can't be trusted. And I felt what Tyler did to you.
He did nothing. I'm fine, Rad thought back to her son.
Is there anything different about his voice? the child asked.
An odd blush passed over Rad's face. I noticed that it's nice.
Another caller joined the Skype conversation. “Who is on?” goom asked.
“Myself, Rad, Gymn and Yeerks A Lot are here with her entire family...and a few friends,” Ma'at started. “Josh, Tyler, Este and donut from elsewhere in the lands beyond.”
“I'm here with Myit, Tara, Teach, Brian and Marie here,” goom said. “It's happened to each of us too.”
“It ain't happened to me or Tyler yet,” Bear reported.
Rad's grandma looked at Gymn. “Gymn and I think there is something wrong with Ty.”

Dino was in the middle of nowhere RAF wise. She didn't have any RAFians near where she lived. Goose had been sent by the Ellimist so she wouldn't be alone. But she wasn't too keen on being taken and caged if she was found. <Is anybody around?> she asked Goose while he was in the air.
<There are some cars coming up the road, but if this works they will be gone by the time we do this,> he said as he circled back to the ground. <If it works. Will it work?>
<I don't know,> she answered. <I wrote it into my character at one point but that is a few posts not much more.> She reach one of her small hands down to Goose and stroked his feathers.
As the Canadian goose's muscles relaxed, Dino knew that he wanted to smile. <I think I'm the first person to ever be acquired and morphed.>
<Not truly morphed though,> Dino explained. <The way I wrote this, the only thing I'm acquiring is your size. I'm still a nothlet but I might be able to change my size.>
<Well I got spacey so guess that is a good sign,> Goose said waddling away from Dino a bit. <Try it before someone sees you.>
Dino concentrated on the Goose body. She began to shrink. <I think it’s working,> she said.
<This makes you the first person to morph,> Goose said. <Sorta.>
<We can't be sure because another RAFian might have done it first,> she said. <But here's to hoping I was first.>

Y'all like this story way too much.  There isn't much talent here.

New chapter.

chapter 7
Cloaky did as he always has and returned to RAF.  But he knew something was wrong.
“Cloaky,” a girl said as she ran up to him followed by a bear and Blue.  “Do you know what's going on?”
Cloaky didn't know who the pain human was before him.  “Seal? Is that you?”
“Yes,” she said.  “I'm one of the RAFians that has been turned into a human.  I'm so glad you're here.  I just wish that it we were doing better.”
Cloaky noticed that all around him there were less people that seemed like they were themselves.  The place didn't feel right anymore.  As he got closer to Seal he could sense interference from another realm on her.  “How did this start?”
“We don't really know,” Blue said.  “We just know Rad was first.  Bear was there at the time.”
The animal nodded.
“Where is she now?” Cloaky asked hoping to help RAF again.  “She might know something.”
Blue, Seal and Bear lead Cloaky to a room where Rad, Donut, Jess, Goose and Goom were playing Risk.  Only Jess hadn't been touched by the condition.  A tall dark haired man in a t-shirt and khakis seemed to be telling a small short haired woman where her pieces were.  A blond man with glasses and a fairly nondescript man watched on with Jess.
“You should attack Britain,” the tall one advised.
“We think not,” the short haired brown said.  “We think we should win all of Canada first.”
“You are too attached to that country,” the tall one said again.
“Some of us really like that country,” the man known as Goose said.
“See Donut,” the short haired girl said with a smug smile.
Seal placed a flipper on the girl’s arm.  “Before you and Donut start arguing again, could Cloaky ask a few questions?”
“Cloaky?” Rad said.  “As in the Realm Walker?”
“Yes,” Seal said.  “You’ve heard of him?”
“Indeed,” she replied.  “We didn’t hear him come in with you.  Though we did here Blue and Bear.”
“How did you hear me?  I’m a ninja,” Blue asked.
“What this body lacks in site it makes up in for in hearing,” she smiled.
“You can’t see?” Cloaky asked.
“We can see things within a few inches of my face nothing more,” she replied.  “Donut has been wonderful.  He was our seeing eye parrot then,” she looked over at him affectionately, “he became a man.  He should be an Andalite though, like he was before he became a parrot nothlet.”
“Why do you know you keep referring to yourself as if you were more than one person?”
“Because we sort of are,” she said.  “We are called Rad because she is the host.  When you look at us you see her.  We aren’t human and Goa’uld now.  We are just human with two beings in the brain.”
“Goa’uld, yes I spent sometime in the Stargate realm.  I didn’t feel like staying long.”
“This place is far too open to parasites,” Donut said but with soft tones.  “They trashed their world then they come here.”
Cloaky then got a hint that Rad and Donut might be unable to hate each other like they wanted people to think they did.  He looked at Bear who rolled his eyes then nodded his head.  Only on RAF could an Andalite and a parasite get along that well.  Cloaky knew he couldn’t waste time. But at the same time he knew that in the end those two would be changed back to their old selves.  Would that change anything between them?

J got bored in the wooded area by Josh’s house.  He fumbled around the pockets of his Grammar Nazi uniform.  There was an odd device with a red button and he pressed it.
Since then J had been staying on the out skirts of RAF, spying and unable to believe his eyes.  Real RAF.  It was real!  But there were too many humans.
“J.”
He turned to see Tarra in normal clothes holding a gun.  “Huh?”
“Cloaky wants to talk to everybody that has turned.”
“Who?”
“An old RAFian that returned just in time to investigate this,” she said.
“Investigate why RAF is coming to real life?” J questioned.
“What?”
“Rad started it,” J said.  “Then I found a device in my pocket and I started pressing buttons and wound up here.  I’m sorry I don’t know how to go back.”
“Go back where?”
“Reality.”

Seal and Blue struggled against the tumbleweeds but failed.  The ironic cages rolled their way there the streets till they slide down a chute to and underground lair.  Queen’s underground lair.  The tumbleweeds stopped and Seal and Bryce were trapped by RAF’s biggest nemesis.
“You fell for my act,” she smiled now wearing her royal robes instead of street clothes.  “Good.  I didn’t think I would have a way to get some of the power from RAFians so early.  But you’re hung up on me as a villain.  Nice to know I’m missed that much.”
“What are you going to do?” Seal said.
“I’m going to extract the power from your RAFsona,” she said with a dark glee in her voice.  “I’ll take it for myself or sell it to the highest bidder.”
“It won’t work,” Blue said.  “You aren’t your RAFsona.  You can’t think of these evil schemes.”
Queen ran an USB cable from Seal’s cage to a machine in the centre of the room.  “I’m not my RAFsona?  I don’t think you should make assumptions, Blue.”  She had a yellow canister that looked straight out of Monsters Inc. and attached it to the rest of her rigging.
Seal tried freezing the cable from inside the tumbleweed but the branches moved to block the ice.  “I’ll find my way out of here.”
Bryce watched her brace herself as Queen started using the controls.  Seal let out a moan as Bryce saw her energy drain.
Queen laughed evilly as her canister filled.  “All of Seal’s RAFness is now in my hands.”
Bryce had no idea what that could mean.  But he was thinking of a plan as he watched the ball of white fluff collapse in the cage next to him.

How had this happened to RAF? Goom could hardly understand the confusion on Rad’s end of the call.  “Could we focus? We need to organize ourselves until Rad, Ma’at and Gymn have a handle on what’s going on in New York.”
“When you mean organize are you talking about placing transformed RAFians to environments suitable for their current forms?” Este inquired.
“That would be one thing,” Goom said.  “I’m thinking about the yeerks that are going to need to feed within three days and non-morphing non-earth creatures that might not be able to walk around safely.”
“I propose that accommodations be made to help RAFians that now have inabilities like Donut,” Este said.
There was a squawk of disapproval.
“You don’t have hands and you are using thought-speak that can’t be heard over current human technology.”
“Family relations for those that have families that won’t understand this,” Humbleness added.
“Agreed,” Josh said.
“Ty has transformed,” Ma’at said after gaining confidence in her ability to modify her new host’s voice.  ”I could feel his power in Rad.  He can make woman fall in love with him.”
Josh started laughing.  “That would be so funny.”
“Rad won’t be swept away as long as Donut is on the call,” Myitt joked.
Gymn flapped to his mother’s computer.  “If we get a cure for this it might not need so much organisation.”
“The kid has a point,” Ma’at said without modify the host’s voice.  Who knows what was going on in Grandma Geek’s head?
“But, how do we get that?” Goom asked.
“We could start with Merlin,” Gymn said fluttering over to Jude’s passed out body.  “Mom thinks it started with him.”
Rad was close but still wrong.
