I read somewhere that it's considered abandonware, and if it's allowed, can somebody upload it and share it with us? I can't find it anywhere :-[
IIRC, at the old board, somebody promised to upload it but apparently it never happened :-\
-
Hey, yeah! I only played the DEMO of that game. Wish I could get a hold of the full version.
It's meant to be a platform game with some type-sequences to the battle parts right?!
Who's played the full version?? What did you think???
-
I would love to get a copy of the game no matter how crappy it is. I've played the other games and this is the only one I don't have.
-
I've heard about them doing an Animorph game. Each character could learn four moves, so it kind of reminded me of pokemon. I've never actually played it.
This site should find the games and post them somewhere. It would make it even closer to perfect than it already is.
-
I have the game. It was actually alright. Perhaps I'll have to try and make it work on my computer again.

I think that was the Gameboy version.
I have a Gameboy, I'm disappointed that I had never bought the game. :(

Don't be, it was an awful game! I pray to God that this PC game is better. Anybody know anything about it?
-
I have the PC game demo up to download on Hirac Delest, and I own the actual game itself. If you guys really want, I can upload it.
-
I have the game, but neither my nor my mum's PC will play it. lol. Kinda funny. Our old PC was too crappy, but the game isn't compatible with our new PC.
-
What OS are you using? I have no problem playing it on Windows XP. If you're still having trouble, you might have to right click on the Animorphs game icon on your computer and go into properties. There might be an option to play it as if it's working on Windows 95/98. I don't have the game installed right now, so I can't really try it, but it works with older games and programs.
The PC game is probably best one out of the three, story wise anyway. It was the closest to the books. I really like the Playstation game though, because the platforming is just plain good old school fun, even though it doesn't make much sense at all to have it in an Animorphs game. The music is catchy, and the FMVs are great too. :P
-
I have a Mac, and my mum has XP. Although my mum's computer is so full of junk I don't think I'd be able to install it.
My sister has Vista, but she hates Animorphs, so I don't think she'd be too impressed about me installing it on her laptop. lol.
-
Yea I never played the gameboy or ps1 versions but I think this game is great lol
The story was actually pretty cool, it was about the yeerks digging for dino fossils as some powerful morph for v3 and then there was something about another species of alien coming or something I dno its been awhile lol
But the game was relatively fun, you use pretty much every kind of morph they have, bug, bird, wolf, battle with like some old school missions where you gotta run and avoid obstactles, climb through vents with security and stuff, fly and avoid stuff, but the combat is turn based which is kinda lame but still fun, and you get more morphs and attack combos as you go. And theres puzzles and clues you collect, all in all for the time it came out it was pretty cool lol I kinda wanna go play it right now haha
-
Would it be compatible with Vista?
-

Yes Truth, it'll be awesome ;D And it will bring the site one step closer to completeness. ;)

Haha, nice. Although, it'd screw everything up completely if Scholastic decided to sue me for it and told me to shut it down. *whistles* :-\

Oh :-[ But if they don't do a thing concerning the e-books (which is the main thing), do you think they'd make a big deal out of the game? :'(
-
Just cause they aren't doing anything doesn't mean that they can't. I'm assuming Scholastic hasn't found out yet.
I'll upload the game either way. I have a working copy ready which you guys can use to mount right on your hard drives. Just gimme some time to upload it, it's pretty big. :)
-
now we're pirating software, quite a site we're running here haha
-
Thanks Truth, can't wait to try it.

lol.

It's up here if anyone wants it: (Link Removed. Download is no longer supported by Hirac Delest)
You have to register in order to see the Downloads and Links forum, simply because I don't want some random person just walking into it. And I'm not putting this up on the actual website itself in case I do get told to take it off. I've put too much hard work into the entire site to risk it for something like this.
If anyone wants to truly thank me, then create a walk-through as you play the game. We could use one for this game. :)
<< Karma is that way ;)
-
what's a walk-through?
-
It means exactly as how it is written. It walks you through the game. Like a help file, in case you get stuck at some point.
-
oh... sorry no can do, seeing as how I can't download it in the first place.

Awesome, Truth. Thanks ;D
As for walkthrough, I can't promise anything :( I've never written a walkthrough before...
-
Oh, Truth, you are a Legend!
DARN! WHERE IS MY COMPUTER WHEN I NEED IT!!!
-
I might do it if I end up playing the game again, ive kinda got the craving to lol
cant play it on this computer tho, ugh
-
It won't download for me. BitTornado won't connect, and yes, I'm very familiar with torrents and how they work. I've been using BitTornado for the last 5 years to get movies, books, comics and tv shows on a daily basis, lol.

It should be working now. Bear in mind the initial seeding = relatively low speeds.
-
Yeah, it's downloading now. Slowly but surely. Although it says there are no completed copies circulating, and that I'm currently the peer with the most downloaded, so my downloading has stopped, but I've been keeping it open so others can get what I've gotten, which isn't much so far, lol.
-
Or you could download it directly from the link I have up. Torrents don't make much sense to me when there is a direct download available. :confused24:
-
I don't even get how torrents work.
-
I don't even get how torrents work.
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_(protocol):
To share a file or group of files, a peer first creates a small file called a "torrent" (e.g. MyFile.torrent). This file contains metadata about the files to be shared and about the tracker, the computer that coordinates the file distribution. Peers that want to download the file first obtain a torrent file for it, and connect to the specified tracker, which tells them from which other peers to download the pieces of the file.
-- J.P.
-
What do you think the chances are I understood that?
-
English version: There is a file. Seeders are people who have the completed file and are keeping their torrent application open so others can download it off them. Leechers are the people downloading the file. If there are more leechers then seeders, it will go slowly, which is the usual case, as there are more people trying to get it, then there are that have it.
-
Wait, Truth uploaded a direct link file, not a torrent ??? What are you downloading, slushieman?
-
That's exactly what I mean! lol. The link I have up on my forum is direct, and will work constantly as long as people want to use it. You don't have to worry about seeding it at all. The torrent makes no sense to me, but whatever. :confused24:
-

He was/is downloading from the torrent I created. But as Truth said, direct methods are available at his site, and via RAF (http://animorphsforum.com/games)

hirac-delest forum, not website...

Ok truth, before I download this into my brand new laptop I just need to know the chances of this giving my computer any type of virus!
-
Ok truth, before I download this into my brand new laptop I just need to know the chances of this giving my computer any type of virus!
I'm not gonna guarantee anything, since there are a million different things that are going on in your computer that I don't know about or have any control over. But, I do know for sure that this does not have any virus because I checked it out myself and made sure everything was okay before releasing it. And I take VERY good care of my computer.
I'm not sure how compatible the game is if you're running Vista though, since I don't have that. But on Windows XP it works great. :)

Oh sorry. I never check the front page so I had NO idea that you have a torrent up ;)

Say...does anyone know how to catch the ****roaches in the very first level after the tutorial? :( :P I'm feeling kind of pathetic here, unable to figure out a game designed for elementary/middle school kids.
They disappear like really quickly as soon as you walk into the janitor's room, and pressing the action button doesn't seem to do jack. The game won't let you progress (morph behind the building), I'm guessing until you've caught the bugs. Rachel's annoying voice-actor says something like "I think there's something else we need to do first..." and you feel like breaking stuff in frustration.
This game is so like addictively bad in a strangely fun kind of way. It's awful, but it's Animorphs, and I want to play through it once just because it's something Ani-related I haven't done yet.
Beaten by a bunch of roaches. How sad. :(
-
lol
the first time you walk in the room they run away, then you gotta go back out and do some stuff around the school, eventually you'll end up with a "bug magnet", go back in, use it, and you get the morph.
When in doubt press the crap out of "hint" (H), Rachel's annoying voice should also make the camera run to the area of what you need
-
Man, the final boss is tough. *spoilers I guess*
I was able to defeat Visser 3 and his gang, but those big blue things are mean! I'm on easy and I still can't beat them. Any help/tips?
Oh, and I've been wondering for the longest time how you see the Animorphs "health" and when to use the energy bars.
-
:P I finished it a while ago too. Good GOD this game is awful.
Worthwhile playing though, for a laugh. Hey, it's Animorphs. Kind of a shame it was "TV show-verse" though. I'd love to see a good, high-budget book-centered title from a big name studio though. It's about 10 years too late though, unless this movie thing goes through I doubt we'll ever see anything.
-
Yeah, the game was really crappy with almost no challenge, up until now at least. I have a habit of not beating final bosses...
-
Okay, I just found out a big secret. If you want to win the final battle quite easily all you have to do is press the 0 key (on the keyboard, not the number pad). It will make each character do a supermove call Elfangor's Revenge or something like that which will quickly kill off everybody. Just figured that I'd share.
-
ok the torrent's done downloadign the first time it ran, it froze my computer so i reset it. now it wont run without a disk. WTF!?
-
You have to make sure that you mount the game onto your hard drive. Otherwise, burn the image file and then run it on your CD-ROM.
-
*sigh* followed the directions, the game started, there's just one problem...The only part of the game that's there is the sound! I hear this weird noise like a little advertisement intro thing thts always at the beging of video games and then nothing. no sound after that and a screen that's still blank
-

Well that sucks. Here are the minimum game requirements:
* Intel Pentium 200 or compatible computer,
* 32MB RAM,
* 4-speed CD-ROM drive,
* 75MB free hard-disk space,
* DirectX7-compatible video card with 4MB RAM,
* DirectX7-compatible sound card,
* Windows 95 or 98, and a
* Windows-compatible keyboard and mouse.
* This game will support a DirectX7-compatible GamePad
It's most likely because of the DirectX. Make sure you have version 7, or above, downloaded and installed. Restart the computer and follow the steps to play the game again.

It worked fine on XP, but I'm not sure if anyone has tried it on Vista...
-
hey ive tried all the stuff you guys recommended unintstalled it reinstalled it followed the instructions to the letter tried changing the compatibility thing downloaded all the updated software stuff but i still cant get this game to run it just comes up with a black screen and i can hear a noise and thats it. my computer runs on windows XP so any ideas on how to get this to work i really really wanna play it.
-
It worked fine on XP, but I'm not sure if anyone has tried it on Vista...
i have. works fine.
-
TBH, I think they should make an Animorphs Fallout 3 mod.
-
that'd be awesome. i wish it'd happen.
-
I got this game used for $5 on eBay. Also finished the Gameboy ROM on my computer's GBC emulator... I really enjoyed both.
I mean, I don't play a lot of computer games, but at the time I thought they were better than a lot of franchise tie-in games.
-
i lost the manual for the solution to the light pluzzle when i was young...
never did solve it.
-
true. i thought know the secret was a little too easy though.
the battle system was completely random, and since when did rachel get a gorilla morph?
-
Wasn't there an ostrich (I think Cassie) morph?! WTH!!! Heheheheh!
-
Yeah, some of the morphs were a little bit weird.
-
It's probably strange I'm playing this after all this time lol
But is there a walkthrough?
At the moment- I'm on the school tops- Morph Gorilla (cassie). I can't find the sky light lol

:edit:

They are not there anymore. I have removed the entire downloads section in my forum because I don't want Scholastic to think I'm cutting in on its profits with the re-release coming out. I've worked hard and devoted a lot of personal time on the Hirac Delest Archive, so I didn't want to compromise the entire thing over that.
I have removed the links in my original posts in this thread as well. Sorry.
-
OK. So I removed the links from my previous quotes.
-
Okay, I wasn't a massive fan of the game, but I thought it captured the environments perfectly.
1) The barn. Something about that barn just felt totally right to me. I also loved the idea of the animorphs being out of school for summer (something that I don't think ever happened during the books).
2) The school. Again, something about that just felt right.
Been like 10 years since I've played it though, and I'm on a mac now so I can't go back and play it again :( I need to make a friend with a PC user.
