This thread is meant for informational purposes only and pertains primarily to the Galactic War Rogue rp thread at the moment, although it could also be useful in the Galaxy's Edge Space Bar. It is locked and if you have any questions please refer to the OOC Thread of the rp that led you to reference this page. The information here is by no means complete and will be edited frequently. Enjoy our insanity!

P.S. Characters are listed in the next post down to conserve space.

The Yeerk Rebellion: An Overview
“Then we will take this species. We will make them ours. This planet is where we will make our stand! On this planet we will build the foundations of a true Yeerk empire!” - Akdor 1154

The formation of the Yeerk Empire, centered on the Hork-Bajir world, revolved around a single idea: host bodies were tools and taking them would further the power of the Empire. There was no regard for the sentience of the creatures they took, or their will. Yeerks could crush them, so they should.

Of course, like any species, not all Yeerks think alike. Some years later, on a different world, a small group of Yeerks decided that they did not want to live within the expectations of their rigid Empire. They did not view their hosts as tools. They befriended them, cared for them, even loved them. Some of these Yeerks formed a Peace Movement, eager to find a more serendipitous route. But pacifism was not the answer for all of them. Before long, several Yeerks felt that living under Imperial rule was no longer acceptable. Three Yeerks, Reven, Keslin and Corliss, and their human hosts (James, Chris and Mike, respectively) left Earth, left the Empire, and left everything they knew to seek out a better way.

The six of them were the foundation of what grew into the Yeerk Rebellion; an underground faction of Yeerks actively working to derail the Empire.

The rebellion is difficult to find. Most of the new recruits come by way of the Peace Movement, and in recent years a liaison has been set up for the express purpose of gathering recruits from Earth and bringing them to the base through a series of checkpoints. Others happen across rebellion members at the Galaxy’s Edge Space Bar, that crossroads of space and time. At the end of the day, though, newcomers are a rarity, as the risks posed by actively recruiting often outweigh the rewards.

Those lucky enough to find their way to the rebellion cannot join until they have undergone the appropriate security measures. They must agree to a full memory dump (both host and Yeerk, if present) and will be led through an introductory interview where their usefulness on base will be determined. Following the interview there is a brief quarantine period during which new members are restricted from certain areas of base and their actions are under surveillance.

Eventually, the newcomers will be assigned a permanent job on base. Usually this begins with a rotation of regular duties necessary for the functionality of base: kitchen duty, inventory counts, janitorial duties. If the recruit has a particular strength that is in high demand they may be streamlined into that position. Corliss handles all of the job assignments, and they are usually determined at his discretion.

The de facto leader of the rebellion is, and has always been, Reven. However, the vast majority of the decisions fall on the Rebellion Council as a whole, of which Reven is a part. All of the members have an equal say, and often times decisions are put to a vote. Council members have changed over the years, but the Council as of the Andalite attacks consists of:
 • Reven 599 (and host James)
 • Corliss 382 (and host Mike)
 • Myitt 195 (and host Tara)
 • Illim 718 (and host Daniel)
 • Tora
 • Esreth 216 (and host Terenia)
 • Keslin 574 (and host Chris)
 • Aya La
In addition to the day-to-day political issues of the base, the Council also conducts formal trials in response to crimes that occur on base. These trials are often open to be attended by the rebellion as a whole, though the Council retains the ability to determine the final sentence of those accused.

Several of the jobs within the rebellion require leaving the safe haven of their base. This includes supply runs, espionage missions, and liaison missions with the Peace Movement on Earth, among other things. Whenever a party is required to leave the base the location of the base is wiped from their ship and their memories, and a rendezvous point is set up. Following the completion of the mission the ship will meet at the rendezvous point and be led back to the base by one of the other rebellion members after the ship is thoroughly inspected for tracers. This minimizes the possibility of unwanted parties discovering the location of the base.

There are a number of tasks that need to be completed regularly around the base. A few of the more common positions are outlined in the spoiler tags below.
Food preparation and service is split into two main areas. The first is the farming and cultivation of crops, in the lowest level of the base. The primary crop is cabbage, as not much else seems to want to grow in the alien soil. People tasked with this job fertilize the soil, harvest the food and send it up to the kitchens.

Food service takes place in the main kitchens, which is set up cafeteria-style. Valerie is in charge of the workers, who rotate between serving food and making it. There is also a constant supply to be inventoried as rebels return from supply runs. Most of their food is either cabbage or canned fruits, vegetables, and meat substitute.

Engineers are always needed, and work on a variety of tasks around base. The electrical systems, dropshafts and plumbing all need to be kept in working order. Many of the ships the rebellion is in possession of are old and outdated, in need of constant repair.

There are several jobs beneath the branch that is communications. Some involve encryption and coding, others simply involve receiving and directing hails from other rebel members. Much of the work force is dedicated towards intercepting and interpreting Imperial, and sometimes Andalite, signals, trying to determine the latest information on the war.

The rebellion boasts a fairly efficient medical bay these days, with three full-time surgeons, several nurses and a trained EMT, along with a rotating desk staff. The “Chiefs of Medicine” are Sam and his Yeerk Kalnath, having the most seniority. The medical wing is set up with a waiting room and front desk, set apart from the examining rooms and patient recovery rooms. There is also a separate medical quarantine room.

In addition to medical needs and emergencies, the medical staff is also periodically involved in research. Farrah especially, the base’s neurologist, is involved in research.

There are various security positions, depending on the current status of the base. Certain areas are restricted and there are quarantine and interrogation rooms that occasionally need guarding. Those on guard duty are usually on call on an as-needed basis, depending on the situation on base.

There are a variety of vessels that the rebellion uses, some more frequently than others. The most common is the Bug Fighter, which remains the most readily available option for 2-3 passengers (more if you squeeze), and is frequently used on supply runs. The smallest ship available is the Madra, a 2-person ship that can only be described as “zippy”. Larger than the bug fighter and more suited to lengthy travel is the Skimmer, a lobster-esque ship that can comfortable house 3-5 people.

The Pirate Rebellion is important enough that it warrants its own section. A small percentage of the base’s population identifies as a “pirate” -- that is, as a member of the nomadic rebellion group that Keslin was the leader of for about eight years. Even now, on Reven’s base, many of the pirates defer to Keslin as their leader.

The pirates did not live on any one ship; rather, they were a contingency of Yeerk vessels that traveled in relatively close proximity to one another, forming a ramshackle and somewhat haphazard fleet. They would occasionally run raids on Imperial ships, but their primary task over the years was to stay alive. The exception to this was Aya and Terliss, the turelek, who Keslin regularly sent on missions to take out important targets.

Keslin’s rebellion, unlike Reven’s, did actively recruit. Their mobility allowed them the advantage of traveling to Earth frequently, at least in the early days, and working with the Peace Movement to garner more members.

Spending most of their time on ships, the pirates developed a close camaraderie, and often would stop on habitable alien worlds to stretch their legs. Over the years the dangers of space and war claimed a number of lives, and the survivors grew incredibly close.

There are a variety of ships present in Keslin’s fleet, from Bug Fighters to Skimmers to Madras. They even managed to commandeer a Cruiser at one point. Unfortunately, the constant close quarters did lead to a bit of stir-craziness. The constant flow of Spam -- their most reliable meal -- did not help things.

When the pirates met up with Reven’s rebellion Keslin gave them a choice. Join up with Reven or continue to drift on the ships. The vast majority of the pirates came with him to Reven’s group, which they saw as the safest option.
*Of note: The character list here is split into two main factions. The first is the rebellion proper and the second is the pirate rebellion. As of the Andalite attack on base these two groups are effectively the same rebellion; however, they operated independently of one another for almost a decade. As a result, members of the Yeerk Rebellion defer to Reven/James as their de facto leader, while members of the Pirate Rebellion defer to Chris/Keslin.

Age: 67
Occupation: Communications (former)
Years with Rebellion: 10
General Info: Al’s deceased Yeerk, Eslin, had a falling out with Illim during one of the base’s trials involving a biological warfare attack. Eslin’s brother, Sarek, was injured during an accident caused by Illim in the med bay. After Eslin died, Al picked up his old drinking habits.
Status After Attack: Deceased

Age: 24
Occupation: Programming
Years with Rebellion: 9
General Info: Amber and Neviss are extraordinary programmers, and are often in charge of communications relays that need to be heavily encrypted. At one point they were in a relationship with Jordan that led to a miscarriage.
Status After Attack: Missing

Age: 41
Occupation: Medical Assistant/Nurse
Years with Rebellion: 2
General Info: Anthony joined the Rebellion through the Peace Movement, after helping rescue Caleth from Imperial torture. Losing his own Yeerk in the process, he agreed to provide Caleth with a host.
Status After Attack: Deceased

Age: 29
Occupation: Office Assistant (medical wing)
Years with Rebellion: Less than 1
General Info: Dan was infested at the age of 16, when he sought counseling following the disappearance of his younger sister, Terenia. He passed through many Yeerks, each more unpleasant than the last, until he finally was given to Haviss, a supervisor at an interrogation facility. One of his clients -- Dan’s long thought to be dead sister -- had gone missing, and Haviss sought to use Dan’s presence to lure her back. Unfortunately, Haviss found the rebellion and was forced out of Dan. Since then, Dan has harbored a wary mistrust of the Yeerks he surrounds himself with, refusing to be reinfested and only working with them cautiously.
Status After Attack: Missing

Age: 40 (Daniel), 37 (Illim)
Occupation: Scouter for new base sites (Daniel), bioengineer and Council member (Illim)
Years with Rebellion: 2
General Info: Not without a history of anti-Empire terrorism before he came to the rebellion, Illim was one of the masterminds behind the barium biological weapon against Yeerks that was used both against the Empire and the rebellion by Efaen. He also worked with Melissa in the attempt to make an antidote to the barium and the new biological weapon that ended up killing Terliss inside Melissa. He was the target of some attacks by suspicious comrades, leaving his host with no left hand and lower arm (now replaced with a living metal prosthetic), and he and his host are now married to Myitt and Tara and are newly elected Council members.
Status After Attack: On Corvus

Age: 16
Occupation: Medical assistant
Years with Rebellion: 1.5
General Info: Doug was abducted from his home by Skrit Na as a teenager and was rescued at the Galaxy’s Edge Space Bar by a rebel, thus bringing him to the base with quite an usual story. He worked for a time growing cabbage but then accepted a biologist Yeerk named Thenak so he could learn medicine.
Status After Attack: Missing

Age: 15
Occupation: Communications/Reconnaissance
Years with Rebellion: 9
General Info: Edith was brought to the rebellion when she was just five years old. Her mother and her mother’s Yeerk sought to protect Edith from eventual infestation. Edith effectively grew up within the rebellion and remembers little from her early years on Earth. The Yeerk who infested her mother was killed in the barium incident, and since then Edith has grown distant with her biological mother. Edith is the base gossip and hears everything. She puts this skill to use in recon, and occasionally hosts the Yeerk Zohar, who helps in that regard.
Status After Attack: Missing

(human morph)
Age: 29 (in human years); 4 (in Andalite years)
Occupation: Former Warrior of the Andalite Military
Years with Rebellion: 1.5
General Info: Efaen joined the rebellion convinced that the rebel Yeerks were actually acting under false pretenses, and determined to undermine what she saw as an Imperial threat. She engineered an attack on the rebel base involving a chemical weapon that killed and injured a large number of Yeerks. As a result, she was slated for execution. Terenia and Corliss, however, went against the Council’s orders and instead wiped her memories entirely, erasing the entirety of her past. Unable to kill her for crimes she did not remember committing, the rebels instead attempted to reteach her some of what she had lost, cultivating a more friendly relationship with her. This was cut short abruptly when Ossanlin arrived at the base to return her to the Electorate and the Homeworld against her wishes.
Status After Attack: Working as liaison on Corvus facility

Age: 9 (in Earth years)
Occupation: N/A (quarantined)
Years with Rebellion: 1.5
General Info: Eriss came to the rebellion with Melissa, and temporarily was hosted by Terenia. She was placed in quarantine after her fear of violence nearly resulted in the Empire discovering their location.
Status After Attack: Deceased

Age: 30
Occupation: Communications lieutenant, Council member
Years with Rebellion: 11
General Info: Tora, the rebellion’s first (and nearly only) Andalite has been with the organization since nearly the beginning, leading communications and remote espionage. Nine years into her service she, James and Reven established their feelings for one another; she became a human nothlit and gave birth to Makayla, the first and only child to be born on base.
Status After Attack: Missing

Age: 38 (Farrah); 52 (Isren)
Occupation: Neurosurgeon
Years with Rebellion: 2
General Info: Farrah was recruited following a failed experiment on the rebel base. Sam and John persuaded her to join the rebellion, despite the fact that she had not been previously infested and was utterly unaware of the invasion. She joined after being promised case loads “of the like she had never seen”. Since then she has allowed herself to be infested to help her acclimate to the unique biologies of the creatures she is working with. Her primary caseload deals with the effects of biological weapons on Yeerk and human neurology.
Status After Attack: Missing

Age: 33 (Gene), 40 (Kellim)
Occupation: Mechanics/Engineering
Years with Rebellion: 10
General Info: Eugene Tannenbaum (known as Gene to everyone but his parents) grew up in Santa Barbara, California, to caring but slightly absent accountant parents. That care turned to an obsession with perfection, and while Gene was bright, he wasn’t prepared to earn his parents’ disapproval nonetheless. He met Kellim and found comfort through The Sharing. Just after finishing his college degree in mechanical engineering--with very little help from the Yeerk that had taken over his life--he and Kellim left Earth to pursue freedom in many different facets.
Status After Attack: Missing

Age: 42
Occupation: Physician
Years with Rebellion: 5
General Info: The rebellion’s no-nonsense doctor, Issid mostly keeps to herself when she’s not busy with work.
Status After Attack: Missing

Age: 24 (James), 45 (Reven)
Occupation: Rebellion leader
Years with Rebellion: 11
General Info: James O’Hearn grew up in rural Langdon, Alberta, Canada. Recruited to The Sharing by his cousin, Chris O’Hearn (himself infested by Keslin 574), James’ relatively uneventful farm life took a sharp turn for the extraordinary. At the age of 14 he left Earth to form the rebellion with Reven, Keslin, and Reven’s brother Corliss.

Reven 599 had always felt different. His brother Yeerks were either overeager to take a host, or terrified of it, or ambivalent. He felt none of those things.

Reven cared for his hosts, whether they were Gedd or Hork-Bajir or now, this young human man. A child, but so strong, so endlessly fascinating.

By the time Reven met James, Reven could no longer ignore his desire to act against the stagnant and oppressive Yeerk Empire. If the Yeerk people were to flourish and diversify as a species, they would need to cooperate with their hosts. There would need to be compromise, and sacrifice, even if that meant the loss of Yeerk life.

Through famine and hardship and death, Reven became the de facto leader of the true Yeerk rebellion--a guerilla offshoot of the Earth-based Yeerk Peace Movement.

Like any good leader, Reven and James did not leave his friends and comrades behind until as many people as possible had made it through the escape procedure.
Status After Attack: Deceased

Age: 21 (Jordan), 39 (Nessim)
Occupation: Mechanics
Years with Rebellion: 4
General Info: Jordan joined the rebellion after he Yeerk, Caleth, was hit by the barium on Earth. Without knowing how to reverse the effects of the chemical he stole a ship and began looking for someone that did. Eventually he made his way to the rebellion and Caleth was cured. He found a home in the rebellion and started a relationship with Amber.

Then, Jordan was captured on a supply run with Terenia. Caleth was extracted, and the rebel base’s location was corrupted. He was reinfested with an Imperial Yeerk, Nessim. The threat to the base was discovered fairly quickly and Jordan was eventually freed, and left the base to save Caleth, garnering Anthony’s help. Caleth was saved, but the tortures he underwent left him traumatized, and Jordan did not want to allow him back in his head.

Nessim, who spent most of his life being shuttled from Taxxon host to Taxxon host, eagerly took on the assigned job of taking down the rebellion, through Jordan, for the prize of a permanent human host. When the rebellion thwarts his efforts, though, he is sent to quarantine and slated to be executed. Prior to his execution there is another attack on base, in which Nessim manages to play an integral role in saving it. His life is spared and Jordan agrees to host him temporarily.
Status After Attack: Deceased

Age: 28
Occupation: Facilities worker
Years with Rebellion: 2
General Info: Juliette doesn’t talk much about how she and Dessik escaped their life on Earth as a Sharing-affiliated stunt woman and came to the rebellion, except to say that Dessik “lost a bet.” The base’s resident daredevil, Juliette manages the hard-to-reach parts of the facility and can nearly always be found with a climbing rope, harness and tool belt. She has on-again, off-again relationships with Patrick Leicester and Nessim.
Status After Attack: Deceased

Age: 2
Occupation: None
Years with Rebellion: 2
General Info: The child of Ertoran, Reven and James
Status After Attack: Missing

Age: 9
Occupation: Student
Years with Rebellion: 1
General Info: The daughter of Anthony and Renee Phillips who has quite the scientific aptitude
Status After Attack: Deceased

Age: 32
Occupation: Chemical Engineer
Years with Rebellion: 1.5
General Info: Melissa was a talented chemist who worked within the oil and gas industry in Louisiana and Texas. Her natural genius in the sciences made her a prime target for infestation, and she was quickly taken and infested by Eriss, a young and somewhat pacifistic Yeerk. The two never got along well, except on one point: they did not want to be within the Empire. Melissa finally goaded Eriss into leaving and joining the Rebellion. Shortly thereafter, Melissa told Eriss she did not want to be infested anymore and Eriss turned to Terenia.

Meanwhile, Melissa put her genius to work. She helped to develop a cure for the barium incident, though it was only put into experimental practice and was not used on the most severely hit victims. Following that, she began working with Illim to develop a biological weapon in gas form that would trigger the natural decomposition of a post-mortem Yeerk, essentially forcing the Yeerk cells to break down while it was still alive. This gas was completed and tested on several quarantined Yeerks that were slated for execution, with Melissa using herself as a guinea pig host. While the gas was a success, it did not take into account how it would interact with a Yeerk whose physiology had been altered by oatmeal addiction, as was the case with one of the prisoners. As a result, the Yeerk (Terliss) died, but instead of dissolving parts of his brain fused with Melissa’s. This prompted John and Sam to seek out Farrah, who performed surgery, but Melissa has since had cognitive difficulties, and her distrust of Yeerks has ramped up to flat-out paranoia.

Status After Attack: Deceased

Age: 29
Occupation: Occupations Delegate, Communications
Years with Rebellion: 11
General Info: Michael Leicester grew up in a little urban subset of Liverpool, England. He and his older brother, Patrick, were at first very close; this relationship became strained when Patrick left home to live effectively a street gang life. Forced to work dock jobs and other sporadic work to make ends meet and support their single housewife mother, Mike eventually left school for London--after passing a number of impressive A-levels in maths and science--and found a job working public relations at the new UK headquarters of The Sharing.

Shipping cash back to his mum and plugging along in advertisements, Mike had no real conception of what he was really getting himself into. He met Corliss Three-Eight-Two, brother of Myitt and Reven, after unceremoniously getting his own head shoved in a Sharing headquarters Yeerk pool.

An uneasy truce became an even more tenuous alliance, one that would be tested quickly when Corliss was offered the chance to test his convictions against the Empire along with Reven and Keslin.

Corliss, for his part, spent much of his formative years developing those convictions along with his few errant siblings. He was born in 1961, on the Yeerk homeworld, shortly before the attack that led to the Yeerk exodus from their homeworld. His home pool, Taon Yerralash, was one of those located on the far side of the planet from the initial Andalite landings, and was one of the pools selected by the fleeing Yeerks who, in their haste, scooped up as many of their brethren as they could before escaping.

Thrust into a war and taken from the only home he had ever known--and had never even seen--Corliss’ only comfort was with his few like-minded siblings, and eventually, with his Gedd and Hork-Bajir hosts. The Hork-Bajir conflict only served to solidify his ideals, and it was there that he and his brother Myitt began to quietly whisper about someday changing the Imperial game.
It wouldn’t be until the siblings were reunited on Earth, and with new and even more vociferous hosts, that their long-laid plans would come to fruition.

Status After Attack: Missing

Age: 33
Occupation: Medical Assistant / Psychology Assistant
Years with Rebellion: 7
General Info: The base’s mild-mannered first responder, serving as an EMT and psychiatry aide for many years. Miles Saitou was recruited to the Empire for his sharp mind and his parents’ bank accounts, eventually leaving college because of his Imperial Yeerk’s predatory ambition. Serving several years under Imperial control, Miles saw firsthand the carnage and psychological warfare the Empire could inflict.

On an assignment to root out the Rebellion, Miles’ Yeerk was captured and destroyed.

Finally in a place where he could recuperate, Miles turned to helping others.
Age: 24
Occupation: Administrative tasks, occasional ship repair
Years with Rebellion: 2
General Info:
Terenia (born Teresa) never expected that running away from her crappy home life would lead her to space. However, when she stumbled across a Bug Fighter in the woods her ten-year-old instinct was to climb aboard and explore. She was found and taken to the nearest cruiser ship to be infested. Fortunately for her, her imminent infestation was halted by an Andalite attack on the ship. She managed to escape and, after the Andalites boarded, she effectively made herself an Andalite PoW. She was taken in for questioning, with the intent of being returned to Earth and having her memories wiped. However, she was placed in the temporary custody of an Andalite aristh who was so fascinated with the idea of humanity -- especially the possibility of being able to further study humans -- that she stole an escafil device and convinced Terenia to allow them to switch places -- leaving out the bit about becoming nothlitized.

With Terenia stuck in an Andalite body, on an Andalite spaceship, it was not long before she was discovered. The Andalites shipped her to their Homeworld for medical study -- since she was not a true Andalite she provided a more “ethical” (in their minds) approach to studying the effects of nothlitism. What followed were several years of experimental studies that were often quite lonely and quite painful. Eventually, though, they were successful and, while Terenia’s original body was not restored, her morphing capabilities were. This would have marked a huge scientific breakthrough on the part of the Andalites, if Terenia had not solicited the help of a friend to surreptitiously erase the data shortly before her release.

Terenia was taken in by an Andalite war-prince, Sofor, and his daughter Jennor as a playmate for Jennor. When she joined the Academy Sofor was able to pull enough strings that Terenia was able to enroll as well, though she did painfully poorly. Eventually, though, she was allowed on a ship as a practicing aristh.

Here a mission went awry. Her fighter was captured by a particularly vindictive Sub-Visser who was skilled in interrogation methods. There was not much information of use to garner from Terenia, so he decided to toy with her instead, and eventually infest her along with her comrade. She told that she would be able to escape, so long as she killed one of the Sub-Visser’s soldiers. This soldier turned out to be her older brother, who had been infested after she left Earth. Terenia does so and is traumatized. She seeks to punish herself in the worst way possible -- by trapping herself in Yeerk morph.

Her comrade manages to get himself and Terenia -- trapped in morph and nonresponsive -- back to the main Andalite ship. The Andalites are appalled by what Terenia did, but decide that at the very least they can use her. They begin to force Terenia to infest the hosts of captured Yeerks once the Yeerks themselves starve, as a means of gathering information. This goes on for some time, until Terenia cannot handle it anymore. She stages an escape, in which she involuntarily infests an Andalite aristh on board, Efaen, and steals a fighter.

Terenia, who needs Kandrona to survive, has no choice but to try and appease the Yeerks. She negotiates with another Sub-Visser, who agrees to allow her to work for him and retain her Andalite host so long as no one beyond the crew finds out about it. The deal is a farce, however, and the Sub-Visser, disgusted by the idea of infesting an Andalite, nevertheless intends on using Terenia and Efaen as a method of studying Andalite physiology. She is relegated to the torture chambers for nearly five years, only allowed occasional respite for supply runs and the like. The Sub-Visser knows she cannot return to the Andalites, and that if she is gone for too long she will starve.

Eventually, fate brings Terenia to the bar. She meets the Yeerk rebellion and sees that there is another way. She meets Ossanlin there as well, and he possesses technology beyond her understanding that, while it does not retain her ability to morph, returns her to her human form. Human again, she joins the rebellion.

At the rebellion, Terenia does not have it any easier. Efaen continues to make her life miserable, she is infested by Imperials on a supply run gone bad, and she loses her child after becoming pregnant due to a turelek attack. Her experiences have begun to catch up to her, and she sinks into a deep depression that even Corliss and Mike, her husbands, cannot seem to pull her from. She decides to be willingly infested, to see if that will help.

Esreth is a young Yeerk. She was born on a shipboard pool and had one other human host before joining the rebellion, a fourteen year old human girl. She spent a good two years in the pool at the rebellion, waiting for her turn to receive a host. She willingly accepted to partner with Terenia and help her work through her issues, and has integrated herself into her relationship with Mike and Corliss.
Age: 38
Occupation: Cook, Kitchens Manager
Years with Rebellion: 10
General Info: Valerie and her Yeerk Arliss joined the rebellion in its earliest days. Arliss, unfortunately, starved to death during those tumultuous years where Kandrona supplies were far from guaranteed. Since then, Valerie has taken up an unwavering post in the kitchens, ensuring that the rebellion remain well-fed on a consistent, if a bit bland, diet.

Age: 22
Occupation: Reconnaissance Expert, Council Member
Years with Rebellion: 7
General Info: Aya joined with Keslin’s pirate rebellion when she was just thirteen. She discovered the Yeerk threat on Earth, on her own, without ever being infested. Hyperintelligent and with the gift of a photographic memory, Keslin immediately put her to use in reconnaissance, despite her youth. Shortly after she joined the pirates Keslin approached her about taking a Yeerk -- a captured turelek by the name of Terliss, whose loyalty hinged on his addiction to oatmeal that Keslin could provide. She agreed, and began work as a mercenary, which she maintained until the pirates rejoined with Reven’s rebel group. After that she returned to general recon. Terliss was eventually extracted and executed as a traitor after attacking various members of the rebellion.
Age: 30
Occupation: De facto leader of the pirate rebellion, Council member
Years with Rebellion: 11
General Info: Chris was infested through The Sharing at just fourteen by Keslin. Shortly thereafter Chris’ younger cousin James was infested as well, by Reven. The two Yeerks had known one another in the Hork-Bajir war and worked together well, eventually deciding to defect from the Empire with Reven’s brother, Corliss. Together, the three of them began the rebellion.

Only a few months into the rebellion’s existence famine was a very real threat. Kandrona generators were hard to come by and many of the Yeerks had to resort to oatmeal to stay alive. After a steady Kandrona source was secured most of the Yeerks gladly gave up the narcotic, but Keslin could not. A fight regarding his addiction broke out and Reven exiled him from the rebellion. Tess, another rebel, followed.

The next eight years were spent wandering the galaxy. Keslin and Tess created their own rebellion -- casually known as the pirate rebellion for their nomadic ways. They recruited followers from the Peace Movement on Earth and ran raids against the Empire.

Eventually, they finally found and reconnected with Reven, merging the two rebellions into one. Keslin/Chris and Tess, feeling more comfortable and safe than they have in many years, decide to start a family together. After some trial and error, Tess becomes pregnant with twins.
Age: 29 (Christie); 23 (Zohar)
Occupation: Pilot, Communications
Years with Rebellion: 6
General Info: A college volleyball player, Christie joined The Sharing following a knee injury that benched her indefinitely. Once she was infested Zohar almost immediately pulled her into the rebellion, having already planned on leaving when she found a host. The two of them piloted one of the Bug Fighters for a number of years, and eventually became attached to Theodore and Thenak when they joined the rebellion, though they hid their relationship from the public eye.

When the pirates rejoined Reven’s group they were all given the choice of going to Reven’s base or staying on the ships. Zohar and Thenak chose to go to the base, while Christie and Theodore, not trusting Reven, decided to remain on the ships. For a year or so the four were split, separated, until Christie and Theodore relented and joined the rebellion.

During the time of their separation, Zohar infested Edith, spending some time with her and developing a close friendship with her.
Age: 35 (Dom); 29 (Reyliss)
Occupation: Cook, Communications officer
Years with Rebellion: 7
General Info: Dominic Ticak was born to wealthy politicians in Croatia -- then Yugoslavia. When he was a teenager his parents made him move to live with an aunt in America to help him become more ‘well-rounded’ (in actuality, they wanted to keep him away from their pristine political and social image). He would spend the school years in America and the summers in Croatia. Once Dom reached his 20s all out war had broken out, and Dom spent considerable time helping his parents, something he resented. He lashed out by partying extravagantly -- spending his parents money and making scenes whenever he could.

During a period of time while living in America his political ties caught the interest of The Sharing. Unable to convince Dom to join, they engineered a car accident that left two dead and him facing prison time. The Sharing intervened, and the judge and families of the dead offered him amnesty if he became a full member.

Reyliss, already a traitor in the Peace Movement, was abruptly given to Dom after her previous host’s husband passed away. Terrified that the new Yeerk that received her host would see her treason (especially the love she had for her host’s children) she flees Earth, joining the rebellion against Dom’s wishes.

Dom and Reyliss spend a good five years with the pirates and then join Reven’s group when they both merge. Dom often protests the leadership, but he has settled somewhat. He is in a relationship with Gene, and this relationship has led him to remain on base when he otherwise would have left.

Reyliss recently reunited with the two humans she considers “her children”, though they were the biological children of her previous host. She brought them to the base with her, where they are still adjusting to their new lives (especially the fact that their “mom” is living in a rather well-dressed gay Croatian man in his thirties).
Status After Attack: Dom is at Corvus; Reyliss unknown
Age: 33
Occupation: Supply Run Lead
Years with Rebellion: 5
General Info: The son of a diplomat, John is well-traveled and thus an easy choice for the pirates’ and, later, the base’s supply runner. He came to the pirates accidentally, the host of a Sub-Visser who was targeted and killed by Terliss. At Aya’s insistence, Terliss freed John, who followed the bounty hunter to the pirates and ingratiated himself among their numbers. Once with the rebellion, he formed a close relationship with Melissa.

Age: 30
Occupation: General chore rotation
Years with Rebellion: 10
General Info: Suckered into the Sharing at the age of 17, Tess was paired with an Imperial torturer who used Tess’s unthreatening visage to his advantage, ripping information out of traitors and prisoners. A year later, Tess managed to escape by extracting the Yeerk and fleeing in his Bug Fighter. Her distress call was miraculously answered by the budding rebellion, which she was allowed to join.

Tess developed friendships with the rebels, particularly Chris and Keslin, so when they were exiled for oatmeal use during the famine, she impulsively decided to accompany them. Thus began her years with the pirate rebellion, which ended at the rebel base only after they had grown significantly in size and had committed only a few semi-powerful blows against the Empire. Once among old friends again, she, Keslin and Chris decided to start a family. After several severe bumps in the road, she succeeded in getting pregnant with twins.
Age: 31 (Theodore), 30 (Thenak)
Occupation: Science fiction writer (Theodore), chemist (Thenak)
Years with Rebellion: 4
General Info: Theodore and Thenak’s relationship was never anything but genial, after Theodore got over the initial shock of what had happened to him. They made a joint decision to leave the Empire in search of the rebellion; instead, they found the pirates. Placed on a ship with Christie and Zohar, they developed a close relationship with them, although the Yeerks kept their affections secret from the rest of their comrades.

When the pirates made contact with the larger rebellion, Thenak and Theodore made the difficult decision to part ways. Theodore remained with Christie and Sam in space, while Thenak accompanied the others. He eventually was invited to infest Doug, who wanted to borrow his chemistry knowledge to help him advance in medicine.
