Think it's safe for us to stop posting in the GESB for the time being again, Kells.  Looks like it's on its way back to desertion.  I know some ppl have said they will be busy, but this has happened enough times for me to recognize the signs of decline.

At least until the others return, anyway. I think it's best not to have a fatalistic outlook on the whole thing--- It could very well start up again when the others return. I'm just glad that horrid summit is at last over, giving me time and space in my mind to think about non-summit-related things.

Hey naysayer I told you I'd be busy mostly last week. Checking once a day just didn't happen as I was working 12-14 hour days. Sorry. The insanity wrapped up yesterday and I'm back.

Actually it was open since he's talking to both Joanne and Keshin.  I forget if it was ever established whether or not thought-speech can be directed in a 'whisper' to more than one person at a time.  But, perhaps it was very 'quiet' thought-speech, if it would introduce unnecessary and weird complications to Dalik's character.  I'm fine with you doing it either way.  If you want to leave it as is, that's absolutely fine.  I leave the decision in your hands.

And I know you said you were going to be out, so did Tara.  And Kells said they were gonna be busy too.  But even before this, post frequency was already diminishing.  The time between posts was getting longer and longer.  That trend will slowly advance until the Bar falls out of favor again.  It was silent for over a year before we came back this time.

I'll leave it as is for now, but assume Dalik heard. He likely wouldn't respond to it directly since he doesn't understand entirely--he'll just tuck the knowledge away for later, possibly to talk to Joanne/Keshin about when there isn't a Scary Andalite present.


Regarding posting...everythin g has an ebb and a flow. I think that's to be expected. I rarely abandon anything forever, but yeah, sometimes I need breaks. Doesn't mean I'm ever done with it. Though pokes via FB messenger or Skype are appreciated because sometimes I just get so caught up in things that I forget to check. It doesn't annoy me at all--I appreciate the reminders.

Welp, band practice is cancelled.  AGAIN.  This band isn't even going to get a gig.  So frustrating.  Practice on Friday nights at 7:00 PM.  Every week.  yeah...more like once every two months.  Been working my ass off learning this instrument for them and they never want to get together.  Someone's always busy, or work screwed them, or they're sick, or they suddenly have other more-important plans.  Getting angry at them doesn't help.  Complaining to them doesn't help.  No one seems to care about the band at all.  I'm so pissed...it's a let-down every single week.  I so look forward to it.  I want to play gigs and perform...we're never EVER going to get there.  BS.  Sorry for the rant, but consequently, I'll be home all night.  Again.

That sucks! I'm sorry, Luke. What instrument do you play? I've always wanted to be in a band, but I am so not musically inclined.

Also, ugh, overcast weather is the worst. I just want to curl up in a ball and sleep for forever.

I learned bass guitar.  Have fun playing it.  Love performing.  I also know trombone (though very rusty).  And I've dabbled on baritone, trumpet, and piano (who hasn't).  Can sing Tenor 2 in chest voice and Tenor 1 in falsetto.  Good tuning ear.  Performed in a modern-English-language adaptation of Macbeth AS Macbeth in eighth grade.  Was involved in band, jazz band, marching band, choir, jazz vocal, show choir, and multiple theatrical plays and a musical in Highschool.  Continued with band, jazz band, choir, jazz vocal, and show choir as well as bit play parts in junior college, and pit orchestra in the college musicals.  So yeeeah...you might say I have some small bit of musical inclination....  >_>  Now that I'm old and not involved in any scholastics, ensemble performances are just not something that's readily available...and I love performing publicly in an ensemble.

You also have to take into consideration that I ran the sound board and schlepped equipment for one of the first bands two of these guys were in called Jokers Wild and quite honestly, they were wildly successful for being a cover/"garage" band.  By the time they broke up, they were playing casinos at $1000 a show.  It was sweet when we went to the Wild Rose casino in northern Iowa...they gave us those plastic necklace "press-pass" things that said "entertainment" that we were supposed to wear whilst inside the casino...like a "real" band.  XD  They gave us free rooms for the night and free food and stuff.  'Course I never saw any of the cash, but I was just happy to be a part of it in some small way.  So now that I'm actually in the band (albeit as the lowly bass player), it seemed like it'd be great!  Couldn't wait for a bunch of drunk people in a small-town bar to tell me how amazing we were...to be performing again.  And make some money too...but alas, no one else seems to be that devoted to the band, or to be taking it seriously.  Out of the last twelve weeks, we've made ONE scheduled practice as a whole group.  The defacto "leader" of the band I always a kinda-sorta friend, but he just seems not to give a rat's ass and gets pissed at me anytime I make a suggestion to try and improve that 10% full attendance stat.  But then he's in another band that's still performing now, so what does he care?  He's getting his fix.  If it weren't for one of my two best friends being one of the other members, I'm sure I wouldn't be there at all.

So there's that whole story.  This was not meant to be this long.  Sheesh.  Anyway, looking forward to your post, Kells...especially in Alderon.

Wow, that's really cool Luke (not the **** with the current band, but your musical background!). I've played violin since 4th grade, but I don't have a natural ear for music, so I'm not particularly good at it. That, and I have a similar post-academic problem. I was trained to play with a full orchestra, so the amount of music I can play solo is pretty much zero (unless I want it to sound super awkward because it is missing ALL of the other parts). I've been toying with the idea of taking private lessons again. We shall see.

I'ma gonna wait for Kells to post before I have Dalik respond.

Oh, also, just a heads up, tomorrow is November 1, which means NaNoWriMo begins. I will be around but I may be a little less sane than usual. This is my tenth year participating and the completionist in me is going full throttle. X.x
