lol Tara...Press 'x' to make your dreams come true!  XD

Sorry for the delay guys, had company all day today.

And Scinlao, just an FYI dude...we don't have a written rule per se, but we like RPers in the GESB to limit themselves to 2 or 3 characters at the Maximum.  And if someone's new to the bar scene (such as yourself), we generally would ask you to bring in just one character.  Two if you can manage them.  Your brothers were fine...but bringing in three more people is going way overboard for this RP.  If you want to eliminate the two brothers from the scene to bring in a different character, that's fine.  But again we really wouldn't want you to control more than one (or possibly, maybe two) character(s) for the time being.

The only person in the GESB right now with more than three characters is Gaz, and she's promised to parse her chars down to a reasonable number as well.  Like I said, just an FYI.

I knew what she meant, it just sounded weird though. "He'll be drunk and not know it!" "Oh thanks!"

And um... I currently have six characters in the bar... is that bad?

I agree with Ossanlin.

Two more points, guys:

Do not bring characters in, regardless of number, solely to converse with your own characters.  I'm looking at you, Scinlao.

And please...please.... don't use the word "yeerked". >.<

I don't know why I did this, but the character's I have were originally Gaz's. They were probably unimportant minions, and she was most likely going to get rid of them quickly. With her permission, I took control of them, which is why I had eight (now six) people; they were a matched set. I'm hoping that will be okay... I think I can find a way to make them leave soon, though if needed.

In a place like the GESB it's never too hard to find a way to kill off a few, if necessary. :)

Honestly, Warren, I haven't paid much attention to your actions in th bar because you have so many characters. I don't know who is who (plus your characters interactions have had nothing to do with mine).

Aaaw. Why not I think that would be the way Dara would have thought it. It fits his personality.
(I'm using to many sound. Maybe I should stop.)
Also I have three and I'm fairly new is that ok?

Yep. Desmond is not long for this world as soon as they get the info they want out of him. Neither is another character.

The main characters I'm going to use most often again are Morgan and Gaz. Andromeda and Asda will stick around, but they'll be an as needed sort of thing. They'll spend most of their time on the ship out of sight and thus not in play.

Scinlao, John is Cobra's character, right? Unless you have been given express permission by the role player, please do not control his characters, like so:

John signaled the tactical officer.

"Wait," I said, "I have an idea!"

John, despite my brother, seemed calm, and willing to listen. This was an extremely admirable man, by any species' standards.

Also, just a small nitpick: we typically do not write from a characters' point of view (in other words, we don't say "I said"), especially when we're controlling multiple characters. Instead, we write in third person and use either the character's name or a pronoun (he, she, it). That way, we reduce confusion. Thanks for using character headers, but I do think this will help make everything more understandable. Thanks!

The first person/third person thing is very small; it just makes the RP easier to understand for everyone.

Controlling others' characters is a bigger problem, though. I know I wouldn't appreciate it if someone controlled Tora or Elayne without my permission.

We're not trying to make the GESB a drag; quite the contrary! The more we all help each other improve our role playing skills, the more fun we'll all have, and the more our characters will continue to grow and develop.

Honestly Warren I haven't paid much attention to your characters either as is proven by my above statement.  We would ask you to parse your characters down as well...one or two is more than enough for anyone.  We enjoy focusing on character development.  It sounds like Gaz is having her army leave soon, so your solution seems to be pretty simple...let those characters leave.  Just a suggestion.

As an example to everyone, amongst the people that more or less started this thread...

Myitt:  2 chars.  Myitt/Tara and Corliss/Michael  (we generally count controllers as one character as they are pretty much inextricably linked).
Me Ossanlin" 1 char.  Ossanlin
Terenia:  3 chars.  Terenia/Efaen, Trey, Tamora
KitMarie:  2 chars.  Tora and Elayne
Shen:  1 char.  Mar
Patty:  1 char.  Aliciania

And amongst some of the newer players...

Chad:  3 chars.  Claxter, Sukohn/Cody, Temrash/host
Parker:  3 chars. Parker, Director, and the four-armed dude (can't remember his name atm, but sounds like he's going away soon anyway.)
Al:  2 chars.  Salem and Al

~If I forgot anyone that's been around for awhile I'm sorry.

But as you can see we've reached a respectable number of pages just fine with a limited number of characters.  For example, I've been with this thread almost since the start and the most I've ever had in the bar at once is 2 chars...and for most of the time, I've had only one...and that works beautifully.  Notice that Ossanlin has a defined personality and a highly developed character.  The people of the bar know him and have meaningful interactions with him.  In this case QUALITY is highly preferred over quantity.
