True. I did connect Ancient Indian medicine with Animorphs a page or two ago.

waaah
curious george is mean

*tries to find the Animorphs connection*
It was something a little kid said when Marco morphed gorilla. It was in book 37, I believe, where they were attacking known places that were run by Controllers.

I started rereading again on Thursday.  I'm all the way up through #12 (plus MM1) and am now reading Andalite Chronicles.  These books are still good, even though I'm 24.  I've found myself crying at some points and I know I'm going to cry all through AC.

thank you zero,
jeez genies, I had half a mind to smite you for that.

That is a line you should know even if you've never read the book far as I"m concerned

Maybe it could go in the "Sentences you'll never forget" thread. Though I have a hard time placing it as well. I know it's there somewhere, but I forget where.

so, i was just glancing around another forum (DON'T KILL ME. D:<) and double-checking my use of commas.

i do tend to overuse them...... a lot. let's just say.

and someone's using this quote to explain commas before names (something one of our self-proclaimed grammar nazis is unaware of, so i've been debating pointing that one out to him. since he seems to care. O___o) and it goes like so:

Quote
I’ve considered in general considered names parenthetical elements, but, unless I’m mistake, there are times when it’s not needed, such as:

"My boyfriend Tobias called me today."

In that case we can put commas in before and after “Tobias” but it’s not necessary because the phrase can be considered one unit, but if we reword it:

"Tobias, my boyfriend, called me today."

In this second example the sentence makes sense without the title “my boyfriend” so we treat it as a parenthetical element and the commas are necessary.
and because of the particular subject of the sentence, i thought- in my deluded mind- that i was still on RAF somewhere. the significance that this name had been used instead of just about any OTHER name didn't hit me until a few minutes later. D:

fail.

So I've learned recently that the Northern Harrier has probably the best hearing of any of the groups (really any period) bird of prey move. I'm not sure about sensitivity to soft sounds, but apparently they hear acutely enough to locate a target by sound alone, even better than an owl.
Always interesting to learn something about a signature morph that wasn't in the books

That's interesting.

Did KA not know what most of their bird of prey morphs are fishing morphs in book 3?

haha; i don't blame katmike for not doing extensive homework on all of those morphs... there were a LOT, if i recall.

still.....

i watched bats this evening and couldn't help but think of the animorphs. they get subconscious contextual priority in my head, apparently. and not only for bats- more for any animal i'm not really familiar with. O____o

'oh, a zebra? must be an animorph.'
'raccoon? animorph.'
'squid? animorph.'

Here's one for you all: Do you think Andalites use a base 12 number system, having 12 fingers and all? :D
