Months are irrelevant in terms of the galaxy; months and weeks are because people are to lazy to 365.
Plus Elfangor was "wishing" for a brother 20 some years before he died. Too many misgiving to really now from the books how old he is

lol, I loved that running joke! Do you think Ax genuinely thought of them as "Earth hours" or was he intentionally provoking a response from Marco? I think it started out as him being serious, but then seeing that Marco was annoyed by it, Ax continued to do it to provoke him.  :P

We have wheelie bins here too, but have other types of bins too. Besides, everybody knows what I mean if I say trash can.  :P
