Do you want to time this one Jen? Do you have the time to do it. If so, i'll re-assign it on drupal. :)

What program do you use to edit .flac? Like when a timer does what they do to edit it all together into one file, what program would they use for that?

Audacity should be able to import FLAC. If not, the FLAC Frontend can decode to .wav, then use Audacity

Congrats endorsed ad infinitum!
Still wet around the fingertips..more like flooded out! Couldn't even find where to make my comment. This is all soo exciting! A wholesome respite from earthquakes, tsunamis, recessions, gender based violence, all types of crime and corruption not to mention wars and environment crises!!   Ahhh a breath of fresh air. My only question...why did it take me so long to discover it.  Must be the generation thing (over 50 yrs old!)

Hey guys!
I've just heard the Chapter and have to say t's pretty cool! Congrats!  ;D ;D ;D

I'd loved the acting of you guys and the syncronism was pretty nice.  8)

Though I'd like to make a few sugestions:

1)Cut off the "Cassie said"/"Marco said" thing. We can hear the voices, so  i think there's no need to make the book literally. It's another media so it should work differently.

2)Maybe some kind of volume of sound change to separate the narration from the dialogs would be nice. Sometimes is difficult to understand if the Storyteller is talking to you or to the other characters.

ok!
great job everyone!
see ya!

Have you not listened to real audiobooks? Because they all take the text verbatim.

Indeed i've heard more "radio theater" than audiobooks.
But that's was just my opinion. =D
No intention at all to insult.

As I said, great job everyone!

see ya!
God bless!

Hoo boy. Trust me, we've had this debate.

The final decision was unabridged means unabridged. That way there's no question as to what are acceptable changes and what are not. It makes it easier for us all, and quicker for the actors, because they don't need to wait for someone to decide what they are saying.

Now can someone please time chapter 2?

I can try it.

I don't have much time, but I'd like to help. =D

What's necessary? Just to put together the pieces?

That and ensuring that volumes are the same, any background noise is edited out, timing the different parts together to ensure that the spacing between lines is right, etc.

If it's not done by next friday, I'll time it next weekend.

It shouldn't be too difficult to time Chapter Two, if anyone is scared off by that. There's only one speaker/narrator the entire time, so it mostly should be cutting out background noise and removing small errors.

I would have done it ages ago had I known it was pretty much up for grabs.

I have the day off tomorow, so I'll check it out.

So, um... Apparently I DIDN'T have the day off today, as I originally thought. I'm not going to have time to get to this until Monday, so if someone else wants to give it a shot, go ahead. If it's still not done by Monday, then I'll do it.

Not to sound, uh, pushy or anything, but Chapter Two has been recorded since December. How's the timing going? I'd be happy to do it myself if you want, but I'd need some instruction as I've never done anything like that before.

Someone else is probably going to have to do this. I've barely had a minute to myself lately, and when I do the last thing I want to do is work more. *headdesk* I'm sorry. I'm going on vacation on April 16th for a week, and after that I'll probably be good for audiobooks again, but until then I doubt I'll find the time.
