Animated Avatars?

I've noticed a couple of members with them and i was wondering how to get one of my own? (i tried uploading one, but it said that it was not an image?!?!) please help!

you can use a program like GIMP to make your own animated .gif's.
basically you'll end up stacking a bunch of images on top of each other.

you can use gimp to making animated gif's? once I learn how to do that I take back everything I said about it

Try http://www.gifninja.com/. You can upload a set of pictures, or a video clip, and convert it to a .gif.

Ok well i already have a gif to upload, see its just that when i upload it into my avatar, it shows up as a static image. Is it maybe that the animated gif option is disabled for regular members?? I don't know. I'll attach the image that I am trying to make into my avatar.

the image in your current avatar is a .png
i believe the problem is the .gif's size. (120px × 90px). try a smaller one.
RAF can't automatically resize a moving picture, so it shrinks it the best it can (and out pops the .png)
the limit (which is perfectly reasonable) is currently 100px x 100px.

or i'll do it for you, if you want.
