goom:
i was talking to ash in google chat earlier, she wanted to know how to make your url say specific text.
here's for anybody who doesn't know yet.
custom URLs
take your url (let's say http://www.google.com)
paste it into RAF
highlight it and press the url button (you should get something like this [url ]http://www.google.com[/url])
now, change it to this [url =http://www.google.com]your custom text here[/url]
viola!

also, you may have noticed that i posted [url ]http://www.google.com[/url] (and kept it from formatting into a hyperlink without code)
to achieve this effect, just make a space after [url ] and resize it to 1.

--- Code: ---[url[size=1pt] [/size]][/url]
--- End code ---

font
if you want to use a specific font, just type [font =font]text[/font]
you can find a list of forum-safe fonts here or here.
Comic sans ms, Courier, Times New Roman

color
you probably all know how to color text (click the 'change color' option) to one of the listed.
but did you know you can turn font into ANY color?
an easy way is to type the name of the color in here [color= color][/color]
a list of forum-accepted colors can be found on wikipedia.
IndianRed, SlateBlue, Goldenrod

* if you're feeling very picky, you can also choose your color's hex (here or here) [color= #hex][/color]
13DF3C, BD6F0F, 1FDECE

custom spoilers
just insert =text after the word 'spoiler' [spoiler =text][/spoiler]
[spoiler=text]just like this[/spoiler]

resized images
take your image (let's do hobbes http://i16.tinypic.com/118zv4w.jpg)
type in your ideal width and height[img width=# height=#]http://i16.tinypic.com/118zv4w.jpg[/img]
inputting just one will automatically stretch the other proportionally.

view text on mouseover
[abbr =mousover]display text[/abbr]
display text

thanks to a new SMF mod recently added to the forum, editing the last post in a thread will now effectively 'bump' the topic.

goom:
pm me or post in here if you have any further questions, i'll be quick to answer.

Ash:
Just wondering, if we really like some emoticon/smiley from another chat platform, would you consider making it an RAF Smiley? Like the :dull: one you did?

And thank you, all those tips were really helpful.

goom:
*bump* updated the [img] code.
apparently, you don't need to specify both the width and height.
inputting one will automatically stretch the other proportionally.
