I wasn't much older than the characters when I started reading the books, but I didn't have a crush on them. Rachel was pretty awesome, but I didn't know much about that kind of stuff at that age. I was pretty repressed.

No, never understood what Jake saw in Cassie, and I didn't have a thing for crazy chicks back then.

If I were younger and reading it for the first time now though, I think I'd be all about Rachel.

I'm sure the whole "Screw the world, I refuse to change" part of Cassie didn't show itsself back when they were almost kind of an item that held hands sometimes.

I used to have trouble understanding sarcasm. I still don't always get it, but my common use of sarcasm in daily life has helped a little. My sarcasm voice is my normal voice, so I tend to confuse people.

I have had trouble with sarcasm sometimes too. Sometimes my dad would sarcastically say to do something, and if it wasn't blatantly obvious that I shouldn't do it, I'd do it and he'd get angry with me. Not that he ever needed much of a reason to be pissed off.
