Animorphs Fan Fiction & Art / Re: The Sario Effect Book Covers (fanart and fanfic)

So, my Sario Effect fic progress so far. The first ten chapters are finished, uploaded on both AO3 and FFN. This is the first quarter of the whole story done. It'd be a short break before the next quarter comes along so I hope you'll enjoy the start until then.

Katherine & Michael just bailed on any involvement with it.   :rofl2:  Probably get the ol' "Executive Producer" tip-of-the-hat name drop and a "based on the work of..."  in the credits and that's about as far as it goes.

Yep, this is gonna suck if it even does come to pass.  We're looking at Jack Black Goosebumps here people, not movie-Potter.

Animorphs Fan Fiction & Art / The Sario Effect Book Covers (fanart and fanfic)

Wow. Ok. This might seem like out of out of left field for anyone on this forum, especially if there are some who came across this title.

So this is both a fanart I did, a book cover for a megamorph fanfic under the same name I have been revamping and editing several times. It's only this year, I've fully reworked the story to something I both enjoy and feel it's much easier for readers to follow, as well as keeping true to the canon sources. I originally was thinking of not uploading here as I've done recently on others (since I never do posts here for the longest time) but honestly, the amount of work I've done for this artpiece was too good not to show it around as much as possible.

I might get the general response for old viewers of "oh the same thing again?" And "what is this" from new viewers. It's partly "the same thing" but with a lot of shredding down complex ideas that gave me writer blocks I couldn't continue with. And what the concept is, is this: the main element being what if the Animorphs discovered a Yeerk and a human working in harmony and the second being that it involves the use of time travelling but done cleverly (without time paradox problems).

The concept takes a lot of different approaches to "what ifs" and puts me in a challenge of writing something the Animorphs have never experienced before and have to learn how to resolve it or look at it through a different lens - without losing the plot which my previous versions did several times. Now I've structured the story better (fingers cross this all goes well or else I'm eating my hat at a sixth or seventh failed attempt at this concept) so I decided to upload the first chps and this book cover this month. This concept also has challenged me in creating two original characters that their cooperation challenges the Animophs that it's not an easy and simple mission like in the books. So I do hope overall, the story, the art, the interactions, development, the references and the two original characters will be enjoyable for you all.

You can read the summary in the Inside Cover above (or the bigger versions in the top first links).

Also I'm using my animorphs fan blog as a way to announce updates to this fic (rather than spam comments here every update). And other than just my fic or my art, I also do now and then reblog other Animorphs related works too. So check it out. The graphic novel straight up gives them a Clydesdale-like appearance, more horse than human but with deer-like hind legs. It's wild to look at. Visser Three looks (and because graphic novels are a visual medium, acts), weird as hell. I think the artist hasn't quite nailed drawing him. Elfangor is...Actually just fine. Perfect. Tobias and the kids look good, too.

Really? About what? I personally loved the babysitters club show and have only heard good things from other people. They managed to keep the plot, characters, and themes really true to the books while bringing the setting forward in time.
Gives hope for if they decide to make animorphs present day, but with the success of stranger things and the like, I feel like there's a high chance they'll go for the 90's nostalgia factor.

I've heard bad things about the modern Babysitter's Club adaptation.

I feel you @nothingfromsomething
I see you said something about picturestart? I honestly thought their social media was satire when I first saw it, but no that’s really how they are. I totally get your feelings and I’m worried about it too— but with this combination we might do okay, is how I felt. Did picturestart do badly previously?

This is what I think about when I think about the 90s thing. I think about
1) Cobra Kai — a show clearly made for 80s nostalgia but set in present day. I feel like they did an amazing job of keeping the necessary vibe
2) The Babysitters Club— also had to bring to present day a series from the 80s/90s. To me, this show was well done too.

Set in the 90s is obviously best. But even if they couldn’t do that, there are other ways maybe.
