And Scinlao, just an FYI dude...we don't have a written rule per se, but we like RPers in the GESB to limit themselves to 2 or 3 characters at the Maximum. And if someone's new to the bar scene (such as yourself), we generally would ask you to bring in just one character. Two if you can manage them. Your brothers were fine...but bringing in three more people is going way overboard for this RP. If you want to eliminate the two brothers from the scene to bring in a different character, that's fine. But again we really wouldn't want you to control more than one (or possibly, maybe two) character(s) for the time being.
The only person in the GESB right now with more than three characters is Gaz, and she's promised to parse her chars down to a reasonable number as well. Like I said, just an FYI.

I wonder if a short "rule" page wouldn't be a bad idea in the OOC thread here at the start. I know there are some rules set up at the start of the actual GESB thread, but most people will probably look here first. I know we don't like to say we have rules...so we could just say that it's like the Pirate's Code...really more just guidelines. :p
Besides the original page in the GESB main thread doesn't mention our preferred character limitation. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to add a little list of things we expect of those who join the thread here too? I mean, it couldn't hurt... Just an idea.

Ask people to post in 3rd person narrative,
Request decent grammar, spelling, and punctuation along with respectable post length...this includes complete thoughts and sentences,

Also be careful when dictating what kind of wounds a shot will inflict. As you can see, that's also up to the other writers Smiley Saying something like the shot isn't very forceful is fine, but saying it will only cause a few bruises...how can anyone but the other authors know that?Definitely. I wasn't trying to dictate what kind of injuries the other characters would/should recieve, but I can see how it looks that way. I was trying to say that Carson figured on that being the only injury anyone would get. If he'd thought there was a good chance of something worse, he might have held back. "Only bruising" was his assumption.
EDIT: Scinlao, you're doing very well with your writing, but remember that writing just your own characters talking to themselves, most of the time, is great for a novel--go write it down as a novel then! :D You certainly have enough drive and creativity to do so. Remember that this is interactive writing--you want to have your characters interact with other writers' characters more often than not in a roleplay. Okay?

I've read the first few pages of GESB, but I'm not entirely familiar with it. It's my way of keeping my characters reaction and surprise genuine and to prevent my own meta-gaming.

A note to all current and future bar patrons:
Please keep in mind that while the bar attracts creatures from all universes and timelines this is, at heart, an Animorphs rpg. As such, please take into consideration the abilities of those creatures and create your own character accordingly. If an ordinary (non morph-capable) human cannot defeat your character in some way, then it is probably too powerful. Even Mar, the most powerful character in the bar, is extremely hindered. For example, he cannot so much as summon a bit of fire without ripping a chunk out of his own flesh, and if his character dies in bar it will take a substantial amount of time for him to be able to return.
Sorry, I don't want to be the bad guy, but I also don't want this getting too out of hand with unfamiliar universes and characters that could all grind an ordinary human to dust.

Look at me, hogging up the 'latest comment' bar for almost 4 threads...sorry all. I've found a bunch of friends who have the same values as I do here, and now I'm obsessed. lol
It's not just that Jessi...I'm rather attached to my character and I know his thoughts and internal processes. I have had to have him take incorrect actions or actions that would not be within his character before because I wasn't able to check the bar often enough. This one was major though. There is absolutely NO WAY Ossanlin would've just stood by and watched that entire scene happen. He wouldn't have just let Terenia get attacked by this dark being...he would've fought. There was an opportunity for him to regain some of Terenia's trust (maybe) and it was missed. It wasn't missed because other characters did something unexpected and made it impossible, it was just because I didn't check the bar often enough and ten pages were written in a day. It irks me. I can't post that Ossanlin fought...that would've changed the reactions of others involved. All I could do was write a cheap cop-out post that said the Ellimist intervened for no apparent reason. It's annoying, and I don't want to deal with it. It's unrealistic and I pride myself on realistic character portrayal. So until I can keep up and have Ossanlin behave the way he would behave instead of writing cheap, little after-the-fact posts, he's out and I'm out.

You have it backwards. You determine how the person affects you. The person doesn't determine how they affect you.
If thought-speech counts, the Andalites do. That includes Ossanlin and Alic (who are currently out of gameplay), Efaen (Terenia's host, although she spends much of her time in human morph and is currently unconscious), Serid (Illim's host, in human form, currently outside the Bar, heading to the building), Claxter, and Tora (usually in human morph, currently in Myitt's ship). I think John, Frederick, and some others have thought-speech abilities too, but I'll let them speak for themselves. :)
Is there an Animorph encyclopedia? I just want to get all the major terms in my head (I know about 60%. But its been a while since I read the books. Technical terms is acceptable.) If there is no such thing I'm sure I'll lean along the way.
One thing of note, Scinlao. I may have it possible to rescue Vogefac's soul if Fredrick removes part of it. He'll hold it in his amulet, and you can get it out with help. You may need Mar or something like him, though. Something that can detect a soul.

His host is a six foot-tall human with a dark olive complexion and even darker eyes and hair, the latter of which is clipped short and curls at the ends. He looks simultaneously strong and gaunt, as if he gets enough to eat, but never sufficient protein.

I think we shouldn't have any kind of sub-designation on the banners; feel free to keep the GESB banner but please remove senior member, Scinlao; no offense, but you've been here for a month. We just don't want newcomers to get confused and ask for advice from people who just got here and might not know all the rules yet.
Sorry, we don't want to be all elitist, but it's just for the good of the group. Those of us who have specific "veteran" or "elite" banners have been developing our characters in this scenario for at least two years, some of us for up to twelve years.

I hope you don't mind... I'd like to give my two cents about your new character. I would suggest that you not cut all traces of individuality from Theta-Pi, as the main purpose of the Bar is to explore characters' personalities and their interactions with others. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean in your description, but I just worry that this'll turn into an episode of Theta-Pi tracking down every living person in the Bar to try to inject them, which would leave the GESB full of nothing but mindless drones... something that doesn't sound super-fun to me. I hope you don't mind... I'd like to give my two cents about your new character. I would suggest that you not cut all traces of individuality from Theta-Pi, as the main purpose of the Bar is to explore characters' personalities and their interactions with others. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean in your description, but I just worry that this'll turn into an episode of Theta-Pi tracking down every living person in the Bar to try to inject them, which would leave the GESB full of nothing but mindless drones... something that doesn't sound super-fun to me. I agree, Scinlao. Not a bad idea, so long as it is executed well. After all, they did in Star Trek a bazillion times, why not in the GESB? Just be careful. I don't want the Space Bar to turn into a Borg cube...

I think the bar itself can offer a lot, but there's only so long before someone wants a breath of fresh air, or to head out to their ship, or to get attacked by Velociraptors in the forest....There were Spinosauruses.... :P
um... she didn't have a ship. From what I understand, she popped out of an alternate realm of existence..... or something like that. Pretty much, she was travelling through a dangerous unstable Z-space, and when she was about to get killed by it, she bailed, and ended up materializing over the lake.
Sometimes I have a habit of just skimming topics, which also comes to bite me in the backside. I edited so now he's just running directly towards the lake.

Saph--But if she can't use thought-speech, then even if she's "broadcasting" her thoughts, it doesn't seem like it'd be able to be picked up by anyone other than some kind of mind reader. Just because Andalites and Yeerks (only when in hosts) can "hear" thought-speech, which seems like a particular kind of mental ability, doesn't mean they can read people's minds or hear any other kind of mental broadcast.

Im confused...how is it he is healing instantly? He is still in excrutiating pain and is still broken all over. The blood just boosts the adrenaline level in their blood stream taking along the virus of the vampirisim to the wounds healing it faster then humans but they still are slow to heal

The door swings open, squealing in an unforgiving sort of way that makes the newest entrant of the bar cringe slightly. She shuts the door hastily, as if to conceal the sound, and hurries up to the bar.
"A shot of your strongest." She mumbles, setting herself down on a worn out bar stool and pulling her jacket around herself tighter. She surveys her surroundings with a critical, watchful eye, but make no comment. One foot taps against the bar stools bottom rung restlessly. She seems uncomfortable, constantly fidgeting to push her dirty blonde hair back, or readjust her nondescript brown jacket. When her drink arrives, she cups it with care, but does not down it quite yet.
Elayne's jaw relaxed for a brief moment as she saw light flicker off the hulls of several ships clustered around a decrepit building ahead. Finally, she thought with relief, some semblance of civilization. But then she tensed again almost immediately at the prospect of actually landing the craft in which she was currently seated. "That is, landing it without destroying everything in sight," she amended, her voice sounding flat in the empty c.ockpit. "This sucker'll land, most definitely. The question is if it'll land with me still alive inside."
She began guiding the small ship to a patch of empty, flat ground near the building. Her tight grip on the controls was doing nothing to stop its jerky motions, but when the entire craft began to shudder violently, her blue eyes darted to a light that had suddenly begun to blink frenetically to her right. "Okay," she whispered, one hand diverted to the new set of controls. "Thrusters should be powering down...." She slowly pulled the most prominent lever down and, mercifully, the ship's shaking stopped. Relying on the cameras' visual feedback, she managed to land; the left legs touched down first, which made the craft wobble precariously, but then the right legs slammed into the ground, causing the floor to be finally parallel with the horizon.
Elayne remained trembling in her seat as she powered down the ship. Although her body was freezing, her forehead was covered in sweat, a revelation that caused her fear to be swallowed with embarrassment. Unclasping the safety belt and standing, she kicked the seat's base with a growl. "I am not a pilot," she glowered at the body of the human man slumped in the corner. "What the heck were you thinking, dying in mid-flight with no one else but a mechanic on board, huh?" she demanded, and stalked out of the ship and towards the building.
Flicking her dark hair over her shoulder, she pushed open the door and strode in. A bar, she realized in relief, and headed straight towards the bartender, noting little else. If ever I needed a drink, it was now, she thought and ordered a stiff one. Only after half her mug had been drained did she start to examine her surroundings.
Good Lord. Where was my first post? Somewhere in the six or seven hundreds, I think. Is there a reasonably quick way to do this?

An old, battle scarred bug fighter landed near the Space Bar, and an equally battle worn Hork-Bajir controller stepped out. He was eight feet tall, muscular, and had over a dozen scars of varying sizes. The most notable were a scar on his neck and chest. The wound on his neck injured his vocal chords, so that he couldn't talk above a regular voice. and when he did talk, it was gruff. The second was where an Andalite's tail went right through one of his hearts. The heart was replace, and the wound was mostly closed, but it was still a conversation starter. His eyes told many stories of the Yeerk Andalite war.
He stepped in slowly, and gazed at the crowd before he made his way to a barstool. He asked for the strongest thing they had.
<We stay night?> The host asked.
<Yeah. We need feul to get much farther than this. But we're not going back. We...we can't go back.>
Out of nowhere a huge burst of wind blasts the doors straight open with a resounding bang. For a moment nothing happened, but then seeming to fade into existence in the door way, stood a man.
Tall and muscular, he was clothed in a black vest with no shirt underneath, black jeans with a skull on the left pocket that seemed to glow of its on accord. And to top it off a gray worn out trenchcoat that hung mere inches above the ground, and a matching grey hat resembling the wide flat brimmed hats of the Earthly pilgrims.
Due to all of this he appeared mysterious and scary, and most mysterious was how the hat and collar from the trenchcoat, came together to cause a shadow around his face preventing any details to be discerned.
He slowly seemed to glide to the bar where he ordered a bottle of Jack Daniels, a glass, and ice.
He then turned and sat at an unoccupied table in the back corner.
After sitting he removed his hat, revealing a man so gorgeous to almost be called beautiful. (have to finish on second post)

Black hair hung loose against his neck, with a few strands dangling over his face. High cheekbones and vibrant green eyes drew yours, followed by his lips which were lucious and red. His voice a deep spine tingling baratone.
Glancing around the room at all the RAFians he quickly deduced no immediate danger and visibly lost the tension in his muscles.

btw Ruk, Thank you, but that wasnt my first post lol. That was after I became active again. I had moved to california, and based all of my time on getting money so i was innactive for a while. Like i said i believe mine to be about 600 - 800. But i think ill find it later on in life

Priton approached the bar, flagging down the bartender. "Whiskey." Genie made a disgruntled sound. Priton rolled his eyes. "And a coke."

Seemingly out of nowhere, a series of three impossibly bright flashes illuminate the upper atmosphere, each lasting only a split second. Moments later, three burning meteors... or are those spacecraft? hurtle towards the planet, impacting within seconds. They hit in quick succession, each closer to the bar than the last, each impact causing a huge explosion to reverberate across the planet's surface, and sending debris hundreds of feet into the air. The last "meteor" impacts uncomfortably close to the bar, rocking the large ship (the one all you guys are fighting on) and showering it with burning chunks of metal and molten rock kicked up by the impact. The explosion is powerful enough to shake the ground near the bar, making the planet feel slightly less stable. Inside the bar itself the windows rattle and dust sifts down from the rafters, but after only a second, the explosion has subsided, and all animal life for miles around has gone suddenly silent.

A huge icey gust of wind blew through the bar as a rather tall man of 6'6" walked in. Slowly walking through the room the women could only stare. Covered in shoulder length shaggy blonde streaked hair and piercing blue eyes he could only be described as rugged and gorgeous. But then flashing a smile of perfect pearly whites with unmatched dimples, he could only be described as to die for.
Smiling he ordered a shot of jack and vodka. Feeling a hand touch his shoulder he slowly turned to see a goliath like hulk of muscle standing there.
"How can i help u?" Jason Icestorn {ice-torn} said to the burly man, his voice every bit as sexy as his body.
"U can leave 'erre now mate." Said the man that was clearly drunk.
"Look, i don't need any trouble-" Icestorn tried to say before getting slugged hard enough to force him to his knees.
But as he stood it was evident of there bein a vast drop in temperature.
Hair covering glowing blue eyes he finally stood his full height. Creating a gauntlet from ice he swung hard once. Connecting he heard a crack then the man went down..HARD.
Grabbing his drink he walked to an empty table. He started sitting on air before suddenly a chair made ice appeared under him, and he began to enjoy his drink...

Moments later a very similar looking man of a total 7' even walked into the bar. Followed by another man evened out at 6'. Both were above average looking also. The first being covered in jet black hair with dark hazel eyes and a beautiful yet seldom shown smile, it was very evident he was a fire element, due to his every step leaving burns in the floor even through his boots. The second having bright blonde hair with amazing green eyes. He possessed the element of air because as long as he remained in motion his clothes and hair remained rippled by a breeze that appeared only near him.
Walking to the bar Dante Infernal, the man with black hair, slapped down 200 dollars. "1.75 liter of patrone silver" Dante said in his sultry voice, and the bottle almost immediately appeared near him. Grabbing it by the neck him and his brother Titan Hurrikane, the blonde, walked to Icestorn.
Pulling out chairs they all openly showed their open enjoyment at being with family. It was easily noticed by all the bar patrons...

Claxter was going to ask who Serid was, but Theta woke up. He should still be confined to the room, but if he was awake, he needed watching. Claxter gave Efaen a communicator so they could keep in touch, assuming she still wanted to help. Right now she seemed involved in a conversation, though he wasn't sure about what.
He went back to the ship. <I have destroyed your ship. There will be no more drones, and no escape. You are cut off.> He said. <If you refuse to cooperate, I will find a way to dismantle you.>
Trey leans forward, interested in Jasper's response, when one of the more unfamiliar patrons approaches Elayne. He is about to greet her until he sees that she is clearly reaching for his companions weapon.
"Hey!" He interjects, jumping to his feet so quickly that his chair tips over backwards with a loud thud. His still mostly full water sloshes dangerously as he shakes the table, spilling onto the warped wood.
Trey's exclamation of alarm comes at an ideal time for Elayne to both notice the weapon thief and avoid seeing the grizzly scene of Fiona's death out the window.
"What do you need this for?" she demands of the thief, but her attention is again distracted by the sound of a nearby Dracon shot, followed by Jasper's outburst.
"What the...?" she mutters, trying to get a look at what has happened outside, but at the expression on Jasper's face, she decides she doesn't want to see.
Cinching her Dracon holster tighter, she buckles the leather strap over the top of the weapon.
He flipped to the last page he was on, and picked up where he'd left off on his sketch of the Methodist Hospital he was drawing. He drove past it everyday on his way to work, so he knew that building pretty well. He brushed off some eraser shavings and began busily shading and outlining some of the finer details.
What's your position at the hospital? Back when I had a job, I worked in food prep at a restaurant.

You'll have to be more specific. People are all over the place. Some are in the bar, some are not.

Okaru isnt just a savage warrior mindless beast. He was kidnapped as a child to be trained to the greatest degree possible with a sword. He has never had a friend or anything similar

I honestly don't understand how what Efaen is doing could be considered cruel.
Chad and Scinlao, was that the Skimmer you were trying to put a dent into? How do you know the shields weren't automatically turned on when the hatch closed? In which case, Scinlao's character would be fried.

Don't shield mainly cover an area around a ship?
And I wouldn't think shield would FRIE anything...just prevent it from damaging the ship. If it's moving very fast, like a torpedo or something, shields would kick in...I don't think an andalite tail blade would be that bad. If it was, the blade would shatter, but that's about it.
Small nitpick, Cobra:I turned when the alien came yelling into the bar. As did John. " I've got a ship. 'You in a hurry? Follow me?" We head out the the doors at a quick walk and waited at the Traveler for the alien. When he followed we opened the hatch and went inside. We powered up the engines and weapon systems.
I don't know if Scinlao will care or not, but I know I would care if it were my character, so....you can't just say that Scinlao follows you. He has to do that of his own accord. I know it seems like the rational thing for his character to do, since he did just ask for help, but you're assuming that they made it from the bar to the ship without anything of importance happening in between. Maybe Scinlao's character changes his mind for some reason.
Bottom line: You cannot control another person's character under ANY circumstances.
I have an explanation for why my characters sometimes do things faster than other characters. They move at the speed of plot!

A word of advice, Goku. Don't ever plan for things to happen that far in advance. If the bar will teach you anything, it's that all of your plans will be stomped on before they have a chance to come to fruition. Know why? Because each character is an individual who will not react how you want them to, but rather by the way their own personalities dictate.
Don't create the story, just be a part of it. There's a reason we don't have a GM in this rp, don't try to be one. You can't make things happen just because you think they'd be cool.
Other than maybe Ossanlin, I don't think there's a single person in the whole Bar with conventional morals. Myitt's morals are unconventional for her race, and she's also a rebel. Not above making people go splodey. Terenia's morals seem to depend on whatever works for her at the time, though they follow a system. XD Keshin and Joanne are nearly amoral, doing whatever benefits them when they're in the Bar. Mar is utterly arrogant and self-centered, assisting those he calls friend (in any conceivable way, not all of them good) and saying "Screw you" to pretty much everyone else. Temrash is a former Yeerk Visser with strong principles but odd morality, and Efaen is....Efaen. XDD

Chris, just a note: It's good that you're thinking about developing your new character, but please try to show your character development in the bar rather than explicitly stating it in here. That's what makes the roleplaying process organic, letting Jacob react to his situations and develop in the natural setting of the bar. Bottom line, don't pigeon-hole him into acting a certain way towards everyone just yet.Point taken.

Pyrebird's Federation has absolutely nothing to do with Star Trek, and I know this because I helped shape about a third of it. XP The rest is all her. It's....essentially an alien convention taken over by races that have nothing to do with the race that created the government system. Result = Federation constantly quarreling with itself. ;) Note that the Federation, in private, in fact calls itself the Oligarchy and this is the more accurate term. It is made up of a bunch of powerful men of various races who have temporarily agreed to work with one another in order to run the government. Oligarchy members as a result die and get replaced every few months or so, although there are a few "consistent" members.
Mar is one of these. He runs security, but almost as a private company---think the main antagonist from the second and third PotC movies in terms of style. The odd side effect is that he is one of five or six members that are essentially blackmailing most of the Oligarchy. Due to their jobs being essential to the running of parts of the other members' organizations. Naturally, all of these five or six hate one another. Shenanigans ensue. :P

It can make people live for a very long time, but again, it's addictive. In time, you could be messing up your natural biology to a point where your can no longer replace or heal dead cells on its own without the stuff.O.o If you're offering that to me, I already have enough issues with addictive substances. :P And as of now, Jasper and Sapttus wouldn't know what the heck they were doing trying to steal something. Ewa should be thankful that Van didn't switch the language to Mandarin or something, which is another common language spoken where he's from. Mostly by Humans, though the standard trade language is popularly known as Galactic Common. It's an odd mixture of English, a small selection of Mandarin, and highly simplified Beryllian. The majority of the language is somewhat readable to an English speaker, which probably helps Ewa greatly.
The only reason Human languages are part of the standard tongue is because it was primarily implemented by the Beryllian invaders years ago, in hopes of eventually moving the population into speaking standard Beryllian. That didn't happen, so this "work in progress" language was refined by the Human government, and aggressively championed as a standard.

I just realized that I have to figure out some way to get my char. to adjust from medieval tech. to alien tech. in a natural way. Hmmmmmmm this is is gonna be interestingly difficult.
So, the Osseus Reverter is a little like Vivalite, except without that tiny 3% chance of not only regenerating the bone properly, but also spawning a second mini-liver in the patient's stomach. And making their fillings pop out as their teeth regenerate.
Usually Vivalite works right, and does what you want, especially when overseen by a doctor. Otherwise... Bizarre stuff has a higher chance of happening. For being a miraculous medical cure-all, Vivalite certainly has brought a lot of trouble and woe with it, as well. Throw in the fact that it's addictive, and the risks basically outweigh its benefits. A lot.
There's creepier stuff I could explain regarding Vivalite, the other types of Vivalite (it comes in more than just green), and the generic brand, Vivacure, but that's for another day.

My char is based on wereleopards from the Anita Blake book series by Laurel K. Hamilton. Loooove it. She can only change into a leopard, but she can turn into half human half leopard, but is powerful enough to just change a single body part without being phased much.
Now, who is sami and what does being green change?

Haha... I hear you, Sami ^_^ Let's see... at the moment, everybody's pretty spread out. There's you Noah and Grun at the stump. Then there's the group of Parker, Gaz, Al and Silver heading for the bar's entrance- Sami might be able to see them at this point. Inside the bar are Jocun, Keshin, Eshen, "M1cha3l," Zorish, Claxter, Vogefac, Morgan and Julian (is that it?). In other locations- Ossanlin and (presumably) Efaen are aboard the Mirage. Illim and Derrel, Corliss and Mike, and Terenia are all aboard the Skimmer. Rathien, Catie and Ewa are aboard Van's ship. And then there's Salem and Mar on Salem's ship.
Anyone I'm forgetting?

Okay guys, just keep in mind that if your spin-off RP with Shawn ends, you're still going to be limited to one character in the main GESB for the time being. In other words, if your other RP ends and you want to bring the characters back into the main GESB, whatever new character you create now is going to have to leave before that can happen. Just something to keep in mind for the future.
I'm not sure how Claxter will react if he falls madly in love with Candice because of her voice, then finds out her voice has that kind of power over men. If Candice gets too scared of retaliation if she does say it, this could go on for a while.

EDIT: This is a weird phenomena. Almost every post is about my character, and yet I don't actually have anything to directly reply to. o.O
The pilot remarks, "You couldn't identify me even if you could see my face. We've never met before. However I understand your meaning." He lifts his hood, revealing his head. He looks to be in his later twenties, he has close cropped blonde hair, though the top of his hair is about two inches long. The hair on the right side of his head seems a tad longer than his left for some odd reason. He has a kind face, though he has a fairly thick scar running down his forehead, over his left eye, and halfway down his cheek. His left eye is completely white, it is obvious he couldn't see out of it; though it tracks perfectly with its counterpart, almost as if he can. His "good" eye is green, but when he looks away, it almost seems to shift to blue when viewed at an angle. It's an odd discoloration brought on by his trauma. He smiles to the woman, showing his dimples, in hopes of calming and disarming her.

As Parker aims down sight, he glances to his motion detector for any signs of where the target might be. Suddenly movement! It moves away, but moving none the less. He aims in its general direction and fires three quick three-round bursts in a wide ranged circle, then a final burst within that circle. Thor detects an energy discharge and warns Parker, <Sir, jump now!>
Parker jumps straight in the air just as the ground beneath him explodes outward. The force hits his shields and propels him further upward. Parker, seeing no heat signatures, switches to normal vision and aims forward, in front of the affected area, to land. He crouches as he hits the ground and takes a knee, rifle at the ready. His shield blinks out and lights on his joints begin to flash. Parker kneels, panting, scrutinizing the area for any tell-tale signs of an invisible presence. He looks for drag marks in the dirt, crushed grass, whatever he can find. Parker begins a mental countdown for when his shields should recharge.
I know it can be kind of hard to get in when some people are well involved with their own thing. Maybe you could be some friend of Claxter or Jocun who hasn't seen him in forever and wants to know what he's been doing.
Maybe no personal meeting, just that he knows what work he does and hates him for it.

Like I said, I meant no offense to anyone. The fact is, even if I WAS allowed to marry a lover in TX, I would not want to move there due to climate. I enjoy temperate climates, and if I moved away from temperate climates, it would be to somewhere colder, not hotter. Back when I still had my own place, I kept it around 65 degrees year round and that was PERFECT for me. I run cooler than other people, or perhaps hotter and that's why I like a cooler environment...my point is, I'm uncomfortable at 74 degrees. Plus I really need to stay closer to my mother for both our sakes. And as boring as IA sounds, and as boring as it might be to someone used to a city, I like it here. Nice and calm and quiet. Not much crime, fresh air (as long as you're not too close to a hog confinement)...etc. I dislike cities as a rule. I visited NYC once and hated it. It stank and it was dangerous and everyone was pissy and no one gave anyone any courtesy. Just not my bag.

Description: Connor is 6'0 and about 210 lbs. He has dark brown hair with streaks of Blond from being out in the sun a lot, that he usually keeps tied back with a piece of leather. His eyes are grey and seem to see things about people or at the very least make them think he can. He wears a black leather vest with a hood, usually with no shirt under it. For pants he wears a pair of black cargo pants that he usually wears tucked into a pair of steel toed combat boots. He has tanned skin and defined muscles from all his time outside(see bio). His most distinguishing marks are his two full sleeves of tattoos, the one on his right arm starts at the shoulder with a few significant military pieces that he got when he served in the Navy, and it begins again his shoulder with conjis(sp) stating the different types of martial arts he studied and what degree he is now.His left arm is a dark depiction of good vs evil that extends from his shoulder to his wrist. He doesn't know why but they return when he demorphs.
Bio: Connor grew up in rural Wisconsin, on a farm with only his father and uncle as his mother had died giving birth to him. He spent his youth and teens until he was 18 working the farm while going to school, the work helped greatly improve his muscles and body tone. At the age of 18 he followed in his father and uncles foot steps and joined the military, the navy to be exact. He worked in intelligence gathering. After 5 years he left to pursue his dream of working with federal law enforcement. It was at this time that me me an Andalite who told him about the war, and gave him the morphing ability. From then out his life changed as it had when he was in the military, the only problem was this time he really didn't have a lot of people that had his back, for all he knew any at all. It took him 6 months just to begging to start this guerrilla war. He didn't know how much of a dent he put into the Yeerks but he hoped it was enough.

Oddly, it occurs to me that we don't have an outright religious character anywhere in the Bar. The closest two we have are Ike and...Mar....both of which have pretty substantial things completely wrong with that statement.
Probably sources from the either agnostic or purely spiritual or "don't care" or whatever the hell I'm supposed to be nature of most of the Roleplayers in the Bar. Terenia and I tried it at one point, but it seems to be pretty tricky. I could do it plausibly as I know several perfectly normal religious people, but it might make me squeamish.

Ike (one of Chad's characters) is a twenty-something male in a plaid shirt, jeans and a baseball cap. He and good ol' Mar are currently hiding just outside the bar from something within.
Everyone else is inside the bar, in more-or-less the same conversation. Those definitely inside are Gallant (Human male, curly blond hair, red vest, brown work pants, cravat, boots, air of nobility, played by Shenmue), Rose (a woman in her late twenties/early thirties with wavy blonde hair in a dirty Imperial Yeerk uniform, played by me), Simon (Chad's character, who I believe you know), and Vixen (a reindeer, played by me.)
Terenia hasn't posted in a while, but her characters were both in the bar as of her last post. These are: Daniel (human male, late twenties/early thirties, brown hair, grey eyes, freckles, Imperial Dracon) and Zaretil (a male Andalite of slight build, with shaggy, disheveled fur and wearing the Andalite equivalent of a tin-foil helmet with blinking lights).
I have absolutely no idea what is going on where, lol. XD Except that my characters are randomly frozen in space-time from about 20 pages ago....quick recap? *sad eyes*Haha. Try, like, two or three pages. The bar's moving slower than you think it is :P

It focuses more on civil interaction and character development, so there isn't usually much need for some badass warrior. Certainly nothing immensely strong. Generally if it's too powerful to be taken down by a Human with a dracon beam, it's probably too powerful. Though exceptions have been made, like Darth Maul's Parker.

Seems fine to me. Vernada's powers come from his parents. As a skeleton, he can summon bones. They may just be individual bones, or they may take shaped according to how much time he has to prepare the attack. His mother is a creature that uses fire magic, and he can too. There are other abilities that go along with the Monster types that sired him, but since this rp isn't battle heavy, he probably won't need the full skill set. Besides, he is also a kid, so he's not at full form anyway. Also he has the ability to detect and target souls. This last ability hints at a darker part of his capabilities.
I managed well enough too, coming in about 150 pages into the old GESB thread here. Claxter the andalite is the one I think I've done the longest, but he's probably not going to show up. Unless Jessie wants to bring efaen back, and she and Luke want that trio of mess in the bar. Currently I'd just like to play with Verdana, who is a new character based on my new drug Undertale.

She doesn't have a very sympathetic backstory, in my opinion. I think part of the issue was that Corliss insisted on overlooking everything, t the annoyance of my two characters. Because he quickly developed a thing for Terenia. Including trying to put her back into an involuntary host, and wanting her to walk around unsupervised, which led to her killing her sister. It was just not pretty all around.
She's totally fixed. *wide grin*
I might have missed or forgotten some details about her. And yeah, getting to the rebel base just so she could slaughter as many as possible the first chance she got is pretty bad for Efaen. Though some could blame Terenia for that. It's all about interpretation, I guess.

Terenia was always a character I was weirdly fond of, I think because she reminded me and continues to remind me of a much simpler time. :P I'm not sure why, given that she has one of the most insane character backstories of all time, but she does. Possibly because I existed, when I Roleplayed with that one, in a time where the worst thing that could happen was my boyfriend dumping me and sending me into what was probably a clinical depression. X3 The GESB saved me back then. :)

I wouldn't worry about that. You can't kill other people's characters without it counting as god modding, and we're all experienced enough here to know better than to just off other people's charas at random...even if it makes sense, lol.

Welp, band practice is cancelled. AGAIN. This band isn't even going to get a gig. So frustrating. Practice on Friday nights at 7:00 PM. Every week. yeah...more like once every two months. Been working my ass off learning this instrument for them and they never want to get together. Someone's always busy, or work screwed them, or they're sick, or they suddenly have other more-important plans. Getting angry at them doesn't help. Complaining to them doesn't help. No one seems to care about the band at all. I'm so pissed...it's a let-down every single week. I so look forward to it. I want to play gigs and perform...we're never EVER going to get there. BS. Sorry for the rant, but consequently, I'll be home all night. Again.

It depends! 83 As a refresher, here's a brief primer on how Jeffrey's Esper powers work. *Cute teddy bear dressed in the Mind Melter costume points to a screen as derpy music plays* XDHmm... I think Al himself is probably susceptible, because, on top of the fact that his own artificial brain is probably exceedingly complex and there's no reason to assume Jeffrey wouldn't affect it, it's just more fun that way. Besides which, Al's probably fairly susceptible simply from a personality standpoint.
1. Since Jeffrey's powers basically imprint suggestions into the decision-making circuitry of the brain, they don't normally work on AI. Or possibly on any species with no brain (See: The Yeerk problem) but that'd be an interesting experiment.
2. Jeffrey is better at saying "This is true" than "Do this." So "You just swallowed a bee" works better than "Get me a sandwich." Jeffrey is woefully inept at noticing the practical applications of the former ability (He could create a religion, but priorities! 83) because this doesn't apply to making people like him.
3. Resistance to Jeffrey's powers depends on the person's current overall conviction, stubbornness, and will. So a non-drunk Myitt and Ossanlin are pretty resistant. Joanne is probably effortless. Keshin is average.
4. His powers always work much better when the person is impaired or scared or wounded. The best for him is of course all three---- In that situation he can brainwash people outright.
5. His powers don't work on him (Or any Yeerk in his head), and they don't work on people who can block powers or psychic attacks.
That escalated quickly.'Quickly,' in this case, being an understatement. It was zero to stabbing in record time, even by GESB standards.
Not sure about Rathien, but we've definitely had Salem, Keshin, and Terenia in the bar at the same time. They were all mixed up in the mess that got Hadrin killed last go-around. I'm preeetty sure Rathien was there at the tail end of it.
All of which is why Fayleth is like, "Aw heeelllll no, we're getting outta here."

Can't remember if I told you guys over Skype, but here's the dealio on the end of my last post: I'm gonna be bringing a new character in, and for a few posts, there's gonna be quite a bit of interaction between all my characters. After that, though, I'm gonna keep it to an absolute minimum, I promise. I already talked this over with Tara, and she said I'm good to go ahead with this :)Woo, new character ^_^ And I wouldn't say 'absolute minimum.' I mean, don't have your characters ignore each other if it'd be in character for them to interact, but yeah, focus most of your interactions on the other players. Otherwise it's too easy to get lost in your own bubble. It's a lot of the reason I'm hesitant to bring in Aetheas (my Andalite character) with Salem at the bar. The two share enough common threads in their histories that it might be difficult to separate them for a while if one or the other opened up.
Also...I'm gonna toot my own horn on that post...because it is one of the best snippets of creative fiction I've written in awhile. Damn.Yeah. Hot damn, Luke. There are a few feels floating around here.
gh, just letting you know, if your new character is an Andalite, and if he/she hasn't been completely sequestered from current Andalite society, then he/she will likely recognize Ossanlin on sight, or barring that, will all but certainly know his name and title when heard. Pretty much every Andalite does thanks to Sector Seven's propaganda campaign on the Homeworld. (The same one that tells everyone that a true patriot hates the existence of every single Yeerk).Depending, of course, on their universe :P A lot of our characters (obviously) come from the same universe because there's a ton of drama and fun that can arise from even little bits of shared background (I actually wound up retconning a ton of Salem's story a while back in order to fit him into the same universe as Myitt's Rebellion and Ossanlin's Andalites), but there's no obligation for any character at the bar to do the same.

This RP is character driven, not story- or world-driven, so everything that happens here comes as a direct result of the interactions between the characters. Between that and our 'your character can come from literally anywhere' mentality, we wind up seeing quite a few amazing interactions ^_^ A lot of the characters wind up being ways to explore different facets of the Animorphs universe (some of which have grown into our own wildly-storied offshoots thereof). For example, Guppy, in the bar right now, comes from a distant future wherein the Yeerks won the war.

Thanks all. It's nice having a place to stretch the legs of a character I don't get to RP that much anymore. If anyone is ever interested in more story driven RP in a small group or even 1x1 just let me know. I would like a chance to develop this character more then I was able to in past RPs.There was a period a while back where, since the GESB was lagging so badly, everyone was trying to start new RPs, and most of them just sort of fizzled. I was....admittedly fond of our incredibly ambitious little Roleplay, and its interesting implications for Joanne and Keshin. For them to find the freedom they had always sought by loyalty and honor rather than a cutthroat cruelty says a lot about the what-could-bes inherent in them. So I assume it really happened, all of it, in another age and time.
It's the same mentality that caused me to have everyone in the Superdome universe meet a Highest called the Grey Lady when they died. In a place outside the bounds of reality, where all the character's previous selves existed simultaneously. I'm just glad Caitlin gave me a plot-relevant reason to do that. : P

If you like, we can fill the between-time discussing Ossanlin and Salem's reputations and the necessary pertinent retcons therein :P Logically, they would both have at least heard of each other prior to their meeting at the GESB-- something which we've never covered before because I blundered in blind at first and decided later to retcon Salem to fit into the same universe as all of your characters.
Certainly not my greatest post, but I tried. Really hard to pull myself out of the doldrums these days.-pats- I know the feels. To be honest, your post was great, though. :)

I suppose that's true...it's not like Ossanlin was cut off from the Homeworld during Salem's time there. He'd have likely heard news. And if Salem is going to be familiar/friendly with Raigar, it's like that the War Prince would've kept Ossanlin apprised of the unique situation.Yeah... I'm still debating just how close I want Salem and Raigar to have been, in no small part due to the fact that I don't trust myself to write your character properly, but they'll definitely have known each other and have been friendly. There's no particular reason I can think of that Raigar would keep Ossanlin apprised of Salem's progress or anything, but having a human on the homeworld alone would be enough to warrant at least the occasional passing comment. Not to mention the rumors and the (probably mostly derisive) comments from other Andalites. Salem's position on the homeworld was never exactly a secret, but amidst Andalite xenophobia, it was likely a source of an undercurrent of shame that rendered talking about him too much quasi-taboo.

So, I was gone for almost a week exactly because I spent that week trying to prevent Republicans from passing the American Health Care Act. And was at an FDA meeting. And also doing All The Other Things. V__V; Since I don't really have an explanation for why the hell my characters were just standing around like goobers, what I came up with was:Honestly, you only wound up a couple of posts behind. GESB time just does not move very fast in relation to reality these days. You could have just played it straight, including writing in their appropriate reactions in 'real time,' and nothing would have seemed out of place :P
- Keshin has the least explainable reason for not doing anything, so he just kind of choked this time at the sight of another near-death. Unlikely, but what the hell...
- Jeffrey's too much of an **** to even care, about anyone other than Leona
- Mar...is Mar. XD He'll be around shortly. He just has to stop himself from salivating
Who I also want to have as being a member of the Rebellion...and a skilled pilot.Being a member of the Rebellion is a... bit of a can of worms. Assuming you're talking about Myitt and Terenia's Rebellion specifically. Haha. I speak from experience-- there is more background there than your average human is capable of absorbing in a lifetime, including quite a bit any member of such a group would know. Relationships and events and individuals and an entire well-developed and wonderfully unique sense of identity and culture that's impossible to get a feel for without really immersing yourself in it. I've actually let a few characters (characters I miss) drift to the wayside because I didn't feel I had the time or energy to properly devote to diving down the rabbit hole that is the Yeerk Rebellion.

The chip immediately begins to adapt to biological material around it, so as soon as it contacts your biological matter, it will adapt itself to your DNA and will be assimilated into your body. It will migrate to a safe location and implant, you will feel no pain or discomfort aside from the original puncture of the injector. Since it is biotechnology, it will not interfere with any of your morphs and will remain functional when you revert.>
He pauses, allowing this to sink in. <The chip serves two functions...first off, I will be able to send a wideband transponder signal from anywhere in the galaxy...when it reaches you, the chip will respond by sending a dedicated, encrypted z-space signal back to my communicator detailing your current location and medical condition. This means that I will be able to track you no matter where you are. Since it is a z-space signal, it cannot be dampened or insulated against.>
Ossanlin pauses for another moment before continuing. <The second function is to give you access to Halcyon...I will go into further detail once the chip has been injected.>

In the short term, the timeline I posted a few pages ago is a good bare-bones outline. I can work on typing something more indepth up, if there's interest. It would, most likely, be a very general plot arc, rather than going into each individual character's story. But even that is a bit tangled, since there are around 90 characters interacting at any given time. Hmmm...might be a fun challenge, though! Let me ruminate and see what I can come up with. :D It would make a badass fanfic, for sure, but I'd feel weird writing out things for characters that weren't 'mine'.
Actually, I'm gonna rescind part of what I said. I'm not sorry that I stood up and said my piece. For far too long I've been made to feel guilty about standing up for myself in just about every facet of my life, and often punished for it when I do so. I was not being unreasonable and I had every right to stand up for the integrity of my character who has just as much value in this world (and more value to me personally) as anyone else's heart-felt literary construct.
That being said, I stand by everything else I said in that last post.

So, I've still been reading the GESB archives on my phone, and there was a post about a Yeerkish outpost somewhere in the galaxy whose coordinates are denoted by a seven-digit number. The number shows up as a link, and I tap it out of curiosity (I thought maybe this place had some backstory that the user was including via link). My phone then asks if I want to CALL that number! OMFG, NO, phone, I do NOT want to just call up some random Yeerkish outpost! :XD:
Anyway, I understand very well about life getting crazy, so nobody need justify any lack of posting to me, at least. In any case I'm being kept quite entertained by my current archive-adventures. *goes back to reading*

That said...I've had a bit of a hard time this week with everything happening in Houston (no, I don't live there anymore, but it's hard to see the city you called home for 8 years take such a beating, and I know a ton of people who do live there), so I haven't been around as much. Also, this weekend my brother is getting married, so yeah....#allthethings.Gods, I know. Watching Harvey and its aftermath has been harrowing >.< I hate feeling so useless as watching that unfold from afar and not really being able to do anything concrete to help. At least it's looking like things are inching towards normal down there now. Or... at least, lesser immediate threat of the loss of life and property...
I'll try to get a short post up tonight, but I'll be a bit slow this weekend and next week (my OTHER brother is moving to Nebraska, and I'm helping with that whole thing).

WE miss you :P Luckily, with the pace the bar moves at these days, you haven't actually fallen very far behind as far as plot goes. You could pick up and post again as though nothing had happened and hardly anything would be amiss.
Hmmm...well that would depend upon the timeline I suppose. If Salem had come to the homeworld within a couple of years of Ossanlin's deployment, Siruvan would've still been a student. In fact, Siruvan would've only been graduated for about a year by the time Ossanlin became a War-Prince and a Captain at that. Immediately after his graduation, Siruvan became an assistant Tail Fighting instructor at the Academy. A couple of years after that, Kirun retired from Academy instruction. He still fights in tournaments now and again, but he's getting on in years. When he retired from the Academy, Siruvan took over as the head Tail Fighting instructor. The Academy doesn't allow him to teach Ken-Kara (Ossanlin's style with swords), but he has a couple of students who take lessons from him outside of Academy-sponsored class who are studying the form with him. Swords aren't allowed in tournament fighting, but the Ken-Kara forms can be used without them to great effect.Salem would only have been on the Andalite homeworld for... probably three to five years, ending immediately prior to his initial arrival at the bar- that should all fall within Siruvan's time as head instructor, right? Meaning that Salem's relationship to Siruvan was probably comparatively respectful and formal-- although from what I know of Siruvan's character, I have to imagine that the two of them would probably get along pretty well. Tobias was less of a disrespectful asshat towards Andalites than Salem's become :P They probably wouldn't have been exceptionally close, though, because Salem would love to have learned a bit of Ken-Kara, and never did (he's generally crap with bladed weapons).
Anyway...yeah...fro m Ossanlin's graduation up to 2 years or so, Siruvan was still a student. From +2 to +4-5 years or so, he was an Assistant Instructor, and from +4-5 years or so to present, he's been the head Tail Fighting instructor at the Academy. As such, his notoriety (and any relationship he might have had with Salem), would be different depending upon Salem's time-frame for his Homeworld stay.
I would love to compose a response tonight, but I need to get to sleep so I can get up for work tomorrow (today for most ppl). So it'll have to wait a bit.
Also...Salem doesn't want to be a "homeless drifter," yet wants to keep the device that allows him to be a homeless drifter on a literally infinite scale... >_>Ahaha. Trust me, that irony is not lost on me :P
