Title: Animorphs fan sites?
Post by: Animorphsjake on July 21, 2008, 10:15:56 PM
I wonder what  you  guys think about all the old and fun animorphs fan web sites made in the 90's but are now shut down or is no longer updated. I loved them! It brings back the memories. My favorite had to be Silverhawk's Animorphs Fan Site. I cant find it anymore. What was yours? :wiggle:

unfortunately the series ended (2 years before) and most of the fan sites have become shut down or in need of updating by the time I got into the series.

my favourite would be truth's hirac-delest website because at least that is still open and updating, and it is kinda cool.

Two inspired me. Jake's Animorphs Site, and this other one which I can't remember.

Yeah, Jake's Site was really good, but I think the owner doesn't update it or anything any more.

There was also another one (the name I too can't remember) which had a really indepth dictionary and species list, topped with this really cool list of The Animorphs' accomplishments in the militia warfare. They'd done a thorough list with the different types of damage the Animorphs had done to the Yeerks up to a certain book and it was really cool. Wish I could find it again.

oh I found Jake's Animorphs site. It wasn't very interesting to me though. And the site was no longer updated by the time I found it.

Anyone who was around in the 90s when the series was still running will tell you that Morphz was undoubtedly the best one around, simply because the owner (Jeff) was in direct contact with K.A all the way until the end. He provided us with a lot of behind the scenes info, as well as plots and inside scoops for upcoming Animorph books and promotions, both on the website and in the forums.

There were also very dedicated and popular Animorph websites such as Ani-News, Escafil Device, MAS, and Ziana Astralo's Animorph Galaxy. Those are the ones where practically everybody went to.

There were also many other good ones like: Animorphs Plex, Animorphitis, Animorphans, Jake's Animorphs Site, and my old (and now shut down) website Aximlli's Animorphs.

My old website is now replaced with Hirac Delest (http://hirac-delest.issamshahid.com/) as morfowt mentioned above, which is an archive project where I try to update every so often with as much data as a I can find for Animorphs from the old days. So far it's turning out really well and I've seen a lot of support from fans who try to help out. :)

Yeah, I'm a real mystery, haha ;)

Also, morfowt got it right. Straight from the Alien-English Dictionary:

"Hirac Delest is the Andalite term for final statement. It is the fated "last words" of an Andalite."

The meaning of it translates into the website, only for the Animorphs series instead.

*had way too much time to think about this*

I like your name. :)

I also found a good Animorphs site, maybe it was already listed?

It was mainly an reference archive but it had a few fanfics (one was a hilarious alternate ending that was like two paragraphs long) and Andalite and Yeerk name generators.

Here's one that was updated up until last year, kind of an alternate reality game type of thing (no, I didn't create it, but I know who did x3): http://sharingwebsite.googlepages.com/home

I personally spent a lot of my late middle school/early high school years roleplaying at Kimmeree's Anichats, back in 1998-2001, many of us old timers are still in touch ^^

http://web.archive.org/web/19991008170116/http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Dimension/7580/anichat.html

..the opening page had a midi file of "If You Leave Me Now" by Chicago, sappiest song ever, but it will always remind me of Animorphs and my childhood...xD;

We still have a forum to post random "we're still alive" messages: http://www.voy.com/15803/

That site sounds familiar, but I can't remember what the name of it was, or even if it's even online anymore :(

http://www.geocities.com/animorphitis/  If you click past the opening thing, this was a pretty good site... I remember the site with the name generator, but I can't find it either ;__;

I have a few Animorph sites that are more-or-less devoted to role playing and are sort-of alive.
http://www.midnightmoonrise.proboards83.com/index.cgi
http://animorphsfight.proboards92.com/index.cgi

And there's this one, that could use some serious help...
http://fitey777.proboards79.com/index.cgi

I wish some of the old sites I used to go on a few years ago were up. Now those were some fun times and some fun people. We spent half the time off topic over an IM line while people were actually posting on the boards.
