Awesome job on the second one teach! You had the tough job of making the recap section that alot of people skip over still enjoyable (I never skipped it lol)

Great idea, Guy! Although maybe we should use Adam's updated chapters that has music and background sound effects added?

Slush, we've actually talked about this before, and have decided not to do sound effects/music other than the opening. The reason behind it is that as we get into some of the more technical aspects of the book, its' going to be difficult to find high quality sounds to use. It also takes quite a while to produce each chapter without the sounds, trying to do the sounds for each chapter is going to significantly delay the release of each chapter.

btw, are these eventually going to be available from the main page or something so that it has more publicity? Maybe when/if we finish the first book?

Just the two. It takes quite a while to make them. Waiting on lines from an actor before we can do chapter 3.

Nadda. The last time I was able to work on it, I was waiting for lines. I've got them now, but I won't have time to do the chapter until after my summer move.
so....give me 3 weeks and I can get this chapter ready. If actors could check drupal and figure out what they need to do for chapter 4, I can get that done then as well.

Do I already have my lines for Chap 5 sent in? I already have them recorded since last summer, just can't remember if I sent them in last summer or not.

Thank you to Sealie for her work. We've had a slight cast change, and chapters 1 and 2 are now re-complete.

Ouch, another cast change and now Mr Guy has the terrible job of re-recompleting the chapters.

If I could lessen the burden on your shoulders I can and I would, beyond anything more than simply voice acting.

Either I'm severely deluded, or something's wrong on your end. I hear the same thing in the finished chapter, the original on my computer, and the lines you uploaded. It might be a cache problem, your web browser still has the old one. Try Ctrl+F5 to refresh the cache?

Okay, yep, was a cache issue. I'd previously tried refreshing, and it hadn't worked, so I'd ruled it out, but after actually clearing my cache, it works right.

*It isn't done uploading, and I'm over my dorm bandwidth limits, so I'm currently uploading at 4 kbps. But by the time anyone reads this, it'll probably be done.

Yay! Progress! Though I have a problem listening to chapter 5. It corrupts just before I say my first line... sadface.jpg. Hopefully me playing it on my pS3 isn't a problem but do I sound good? I don't get to hear me until I get my laptop back and that's in around a week. T^T

The page opens, and the players shows up on the page, but then goes grey and doesn't work.

Can you guys just download them? Maybe the (lack of) tags is confusing your browser plugin... I can still hear them just fine.

Out of curiosity, an idea I just thought of. Several webcomic authors I follow do livestreams when they draw, so people can watch the process. Would anyone be interested if I did one when I cut a chapter together?

Understandable. ^_^. Has I known when I was doing Jordan's lines that I would eventually be doing Cassie's, too, I probably would have done it myself.

It was kinda fun to do. I did it for Seal doing Darlene's lines, but I could only take it up .6 semitones before it sounded funny. Yours I think I took up 1.75, and I could have done 2.5, but then you sounded like a 7-year-old...

Hah, just listened to it, and you can hear my dehumidifier in the background. x_X Oops. But it actually kinda works, 'cause it could be interference over the phone line or something. But wow, yeah, now I know I definitely have to shut that thing off from now on when I record.

I also did a fair bit of processing on both Jordan and the reporter to get the "TV/phone line" effect. I think it came out pretty well.

yeah, the reporter and over the phone parts sounded like it. even if it didnt say it was over the phone or wharever, it still sounded like it

For cover art, how about just the cover of MM1, and write what you already have on on it?

The thing is, I would like to keep this as legal as possible. Technically, audiobooks are covered by the original copyright, so we're only good until Scholastic notices us. I'm trying to make that the only thing that we do that's not fair use. There's now a brief snippet of music during the intro, which, along with all the sound effects, are Creative Commons, so we can use them for free. I'd like to eventually get original art as well.
