Natalya was a simplee wolf demon. She cared and was cared for, would fight for those whom she loved. But one night she was stolen from her pack, as they had shifted to their wolve's to hunt for te night. For three years she tried to get free, and each time she nearly escaped, they would catch her again and torture her. She became afraid of everything and trusted no one but the wolves. During her captivity she had becom like a younger sister to one of the male wolves there who's mate had died recently and he mourned for her. He was protective of her, and would take damage for her so she wouldn't be hurt.
After having enough of the torture, she finally had escaped with her Pack Brother and fled, but they were hard on their trail. She was weak, and tired and he would stay mostly in his wolf form out of mourning for his mate, though he could still speak with those of his kind. She collapsed in the snow in her human form, with White ears, tail, hair and pale white skin. She was just a few yards or so from a cabin far in the woods.
As she laid there unable to move and slowly drifting away, she heard her Pack Brother howl and then her world went black. When she woke up, she was in the cabin, worm, bandaged up and laying by a fire on her Pack Brother's side. A young man was sitting in the chair next to the fire. He was like them, only he spent more time in his human form. Pack Brother was wary of him, and Natalya was afraid of him, but soon her heart could be mended. What will happen when the humans cmoe looking for her and her Pack Brother? Will the stranger sell them out, or will he help?

A man sat on a wooden chair in front of a fire. The cabin he helped make kept him sheltered from the cold. He sat staring into the embers of the fire. Every third second, he shaved off a piece of wood from the block he held in his hand. He knew he'd have to refill his stack of firewood soon, so he'd steal a look to the two sections of tree trunk he chopped that morning. Sure, he loved the cold, especially when it bit into his hide and the chill wind flew through his fur, but when human, he couldn't stay for long for fear of death. You can't carry wood effeciently when you're a quadraped, and you can't stay in the cold when you have opposable thumbs. The closest he ever got to fusing his two forms was having wolf claws and head while keeping a human build. Unfortunately he couldn't get the fur without falling on all fours first.

Pack Brother and Natalya were running for teir lives from the Humans.
They were getting close beause they were on ski equipment and guns.
A few of them were catching up but when they caught up Pack Wolf would jump up and bite one of them in the arm and the other would run off.
This happened for about ten minutes and even though Pack Brother was young and healthy fatigue was lingering and Natayla looked absolutely exausted.
They both saw a cabin but the people had a trap set and a few came on both sidesof them and started attacking them with knives and guns.
They had poor aim but some of them hit Natalya with the knives and did very little damge. PackBrother howls and scares off the men and rushes into the cabin. Pack Brother then asks in his form of thought speak for help: "<Can you help me and my friend hee? Shes very weak and needs some help right now.>

Natalya had run very far with her Pack Brother. She was tired, and her vision had black around the edges. She couldn't stay in her furred form anymore and lost it shifting back to her human self. Her lungs felt like they were going to explode from ther exertion. She feltthe knives that was thrown cut her Shoulder, side and slice part of her upper thigh. She barely felt it as she was all ready numb from the cold. She lost her balance and energy as she fell face forward into the snow. "Brother...." she managed to say and her vision blacked out as she became unconcious.

The man stood and placed his last piece of wood on the fire. Wiping the dirt off his hands on his jeans, he decides to get the wood now, before the fire burns out. Again, he tries to mix his forms, concentrating on what he should look like. His face forms the wolf, but his nose doesn't protude as much, his claws extend, padding forms on his palm and fingers, but he keeps them as fingers. His feet gain the same characteristics. He focuses on just the fur, but his hands start to change further. "Not again!" He stops the shift and keeps his current compromise. The wind, seeping into his cabin, sweeps thousands of stories into his nose. All of them the same: Chipmunks running around, deer running from neighboring wolves, trees losing foliage; but something came across that was new. Fear, panic, anger; emotional pheromones filled his nose. He knew something was wrong, as he didn't recognize these smells as being local.
Just then a wolf bashed through his door and speaks asking for help. The man nods and follows the new wolf to find a woman passed out in the snow. He shifts back to his full human self and picks up the woman. He threads his arms under hers and cradles her head with his left hand, and scoops up her legs with his right. As he gently picks her up, he leans her head against his shoulder and braces her back so she won’t slip from his arms. With the woman now in his arms, the man walks quickly back to his cabin with the wolf in tow. He kicks the door lightly to allow room so he wouldn’t hit the woman’s head. He places her on his bed and covers her in fur to help heat her body. He steals a look to the fire and sees it dwindling. He runs outside once more and grabs a few logs from the pile against his wall. He runs back inside, and places them around the fire to dry.
After making sure the woman was safe, he turned to the wolf and asked, “Who are you, what are you doing here?”

The Pack wolf, named simply as Wolf, looked at the man and said while catching his breath: "My name is Wolf sir. We are running from a group of humans that are trying to capture me and my friend here. We escaped an area up Norh and we eventually found you. Please sir. I'm begging you to help us. Please. They torture her like she's some ragdoll. I beg you to help us."

Natalya's head lolled to the side a little. She made a small whinning noise as she went to move and her shoulder, arm, and upper thigh were still hurt.

"Wait, you escaped from them? Them? Then you lead them to my cabin?" The man paced back and forth yelling at the foolhardy wolf in his head. The woman moaned, slightly conscious. "Fine. I'll help. But you're getting the firewood from now on. It's outside against the West wall."
The man threw the blanket off the woman and traced his hands along her limbs, searching for breaks, or any injuries other than those caused by the knives. When he came to her ankle, the woman gave a slight yelp. "It's okay, you're safe. Don't worry, I'll have you fixed up in no time. He reached under the bed and pulled out his make-shift first aid kit. He took out a wrap and tightly wrapped up her ankle. He then searched his bag for any anti-septic.

Natalya felt a pain go through the dark haze of her mind. She yelped and then whimpered a little. She tried to open her eyes, but she couldn't quite get that far yet. She felt somone's hands tracing her arm for injuries, but she knew it wasn't Wolf, he wold still be in his wolf form for mourning his mate. She was now scared. Wolf wouldn't let anyone who would harm her near her.....unless he was hurt!! That made her freak out, which caused her to hurt herself again.

Wolf walks up to the bad and rubs his head against Natalyas. He then says in a very comforting voice: "It's ok. I'm here. There's no need to worry." He left her side and went out to get wood. He went out the door, pushing it with his nose and looked around wondering why no one was around. Wolf smelled the air and didn't smell anything. He did feel a negative atmosphere around the cabin. He walked over to the west side of the cabin and picked up several pieces of wood and went back into the cabin dropping the wood in an empty space near the fire. Wolf asks in a respectful tone: "Sir? What is your name"

"I'm the man who's saving your friend. Now keep up with the wood. Why don't you use your hands? You're a demon for ****'s sake." The man found the medicine and slipped the woman's shirt off of her shoulders to better access the wound. He whispers to the semi-conscious patient, "This may sting a bit, but that only means it's working." He pours the anti-septic on her wound, cleans the area thoroughly, and places a bandage over it.
He next attends to the wound on her arm. "Okay," he whispers again, "This is a little more serious. It needs stitching. Luckily you're not fully awake." He pours the medicine and cleans the wound. This time he uses his sutre kit and stitches her wound closed. He can't stand to hear a woman scream, but this is to save her life. Next is the wound on her thigh, "Okay, I'm going to have to look at your leg. Don't be alarmed."

She heard Wolf and calmed a little more as he was safe and nharmed apparently. She heard the stranger as he talked as he went. She tried her best not to whine, whimper, or scream, but the pain was terrinble. She was able to keep the screaming to a bear minimum as she was used to pain and torture. Then he mentioned her leg. She knew he was only helping, but memories flashed across her mind's eye, men grabbing at her, trying to get past Wolf for her. She whimpered then with so much fear, it nearly stopped her heart.

Wolf walks back over to Natalyas head and calmly says: "Calm down. It's ok. Your safe. Nobody here is going to hurt you." Wolf gently rubs his head against hers. Wolf then says: "I'm leaving for a few minutes ok. Don't worry. This man will help you." Wolf goes around the man and out the door again and over to the West side of the cabin and smells something in the air, the scent of human. Wolf grabs as much wood as his teeth can grip and goes back into the the cabin forgetting to close the door. He drops the wood at the base of the door and says in a panicked voice: "There's a problem. I smell human around here that wasen't here before."

Natalya tried to calm herself and think of something other than the haunting shadows. She focused on trying to open her eyes. When she finally got them open, her vision was blurred. She moved her good arm to rub her eyes in hopes of making things better. She could see a vague outline of someone beside her. Her golden yellow eyes that had a translucent film of silver in them, tried to focus on what was going on around her. She heard Wolf and knew they had brought trouble to this stranger who was helping her and felt guilty.

Natalya heard the commotion, but couldn't move just yet to help and it made her furious.
A shadow stood in the tree beside the side of the house. Twice he seen the wolf go from the cabin to the wood and back into the house. During that time he heard the yells of a female and grinned from ear to ear as he knew he had found who he was looking for. As the wolf went back inside, he jumped down and snuck up closer to the side window. He peered inside and seen the wolf peering at the door, the femal on he bed being tended to by.....another one!! There was another wolf demon. Oh, this was just too much! He smiled and crept closer.

EDIT: Never mind.
Wolf turns around and sees the intruder near the window and sees the door open and rushes very quickly to the door. He runs up to the door but at the last possible moment the intruder goes right in the cabin. Wolf stops quckly and snarles at the intruder who doesn't flinch from the snarls and growls The intruder pulls a gun and aims it at Natalya but Wolf jumps and and tries to rip the gun out of the guys arm or worse. Durng the struggle the gun goes off.

~~Parker is currently MIA and we need to keep the rp going so I gave his spot up. Didn't want to but I had to. If you read the first Post In the rp It pretty much sums it up. From there I give free rein to characters over whayt happens as long as it mainly sticks with the problem presented. Are you thinking of joining?~~

After finishing the final wrapping on the woman's leg. He began stroking her hair to help calm her. He saw many signs of healed wounds, as invisible as they were, he knew the signs, and could tell what she had been through. "I'm so sorry." he said as he lined her cheek with the back of his fingers.
A strange new scent was in the air, and the man knew someone else was present. It was only affirmed when Wolf mentioned it too. He got up, continuing to keep his hybrid form. He moved to the fireplaced, and took the fire stoker from its placement. He waits by the door when the intruder bursts through. Wolf sprang for the intruder's arm, and the man swung upward at the intruder's gun. The attack set the gun off, but it merely shot his roof. Thankfully, the cabin was well built and the bullet was stopped and stored in the wood that made the ceiling.
The man twisted the fire stoker, so that the hook would pierce the intruder's hand as he swung downward.

Natalya heard the shot, she couldn't quite see yet as she was tired, but the sound made her jump and she cringed into the bed. The action made pain flare through her body. She heard Wolf's growls and the strangers movements as they were dealing with an intruder. She couldn't move. She didn't know if it was fear or the pain, but she whimpered as she heard what all was going on.

Wolf continued to grasp the introuder by the arm and got a good grip on the floor and in an instant twisted the guys arm and breaking it. The introuder then screamed with a lot of agony and pain. Wolf let go of the mans arm and grabbed the gun which was released by the man and kicked it to the side and glared at the introuder. Wolf asked in a serious tone: "What should we do to him?"

Natalya heard things calm down. "Brother?" she whispered out. She tried to open her eyes. She rubbed them fiercly and was finally able to see. She looked around and seen the intruder and cringed back again.

The man raises the fire stoker to the intruder's neck and asked, "Who are you, and what are you doing in my home?"

The intruder glared at him,but didn't say a word to him. Instead he spat at his feet.

The man spun the stoker so that the blunt end pointed down and aimed to hit the intruder on the top of the head. Hopefully it would knock him unconscious.

"Don't!" Natalya had cried but at the same time the intruder had yelled, "All right, all right, I'll talk."
He took a breath and began his story. "My name is Lewis and I was sent to find the girl and the wolf. I am only carrying out orders." he said.

The man stopped the stoker from impacting the intruder's head at the woman's cry. Normally he wouldn't let others dictate his actions, but something inside him made him listen to her. Luckily, the intruder talked anyhow. The man lets the stoker hover above the intruder's head as he introduces himself as "Lewis".
"Lewis, I knew a man by that name. I never liked him much. Squirrely fellow, hopefully you can change my opinion of the name, 'Lewis'." He said the second "Lewis" with a wicked disgust. "Now, under whose authority do you burst into my home, breaking my door, and attempt to shoot my guests?"

He looked at the girl then back at the stranger. "He calls himself Zoram." he said, and the name had made Natalya to tremble.
"Zoram is a very bad man." she whispered. "He hurts our kind. To learn and then destroy."

"Zoram? I know that name too. It was often paired with the orders I was once given. Do you want me to treat that for you, or would you prefer to lose it to gangrene out there in the snow? Either way you will leave here empty-handed. The choice you now have is how many hands you have."

He gave a sneer then. "I don't take help from your kind." he said, the last two words holding venom in them. He pulled himself off the floor, glared at the three wolves within the cabin and took off out the door.
Natalya watched him leave silently. First they escape and are hunted down, then a battle with an intruder, and now the mention of Zoram. She couldn't take much more of this, her nerves were on the verge of being shot.

The man watched Lewis run off into the white of the snow. He made sure he was completely out of sight before returning to the woman's side. She was clearly agitated and in pain. "It's okay, he's gone. You don't have to worry." He checked her bandages to make sure none of her stitches burst. He took her hand, looked in her eyes searchingly and asked, "How do you feel?"

She felt warmth from his hand on hers. She knew that when he asked, that he meant of her wounds, but when she looked into his eyes she said in a small voice, "Frightend. If he had orders from Zoram..." She shook her head. "Zoram was my master, not Wolf's. Wolf had someone else, But Zoram runs the entire thing."

"It's okay. We're safe for now. It'll be some time before he can report our position. Even then. It'll take even longer to amass a group, then they have to travel here. We have time. How are your wounds? What hurts the most? I wouldn't recommend it normally, but do you think you can stand?"

She gave a frown as she thought about it. Her leg was sore, but she found she could stand, but it wouldn't be for long. She found that it was mostly her midsection that hurt, that and her ankle and she told him so.

With extreme hatred in his voice Wolf says: "Zoram. I know of him but i never met him. I never heard anything positive about Zoram. My former master is named Squall.*"
Wolf decides that it's safe and turns human showing that hes an average height, good build, with slick black hair and black clothes, pants shirt and is dignified, professional looking.

Natalya had only seen Brother Wolf's human form once, and it wasa pass as he was with his mate in another cell she was walking by. She figured that he had mourned as much as possible for his mate, but things were serious and needed his every attention. She looked at him with sad eyes. "There is nothing good to say about him. You seen only a little of the torture he gave me. Whips, knives, ropes. He even succeeded in rape, but only once." she said in a soft voice, and the looked away as she seen anger in Wolf's eyes.

"We can't stay here much longer. It may take quite some time for Zoram's forces to get here, but if we leave now, we can put that much more distance between us." The man pulls a trunk out from under his bed. Inside are supplies for hiking in the snow. He takes out a fur blanket and wraps it around the woman. "Wait here."
The man goes outside, to the south wall and uncovers his toboggan built to be pulled by dogs. He pushes it to the entrance, and begins stocking it with supplies. "I always knew this day would come." He situates the supplies so that there's space for someone to lay comfortably. He approaches the woman and presents his hand to guide her to the sled.

With a not very happy look Wolf turns back into his Wolf form and asks the man: "What if this is a trap? There may be people waiting for us, and where are we going?"
Wolf looks at Natalya and walks over to her stroking her leg with his head.

She placed a hand to Wolf's head as he nudged against her. She thought about walking, but she was to tired. She pulled the fur blanket tighter around her and accepted the man's help to walk with a shy smile.

~~I actually missed that part and when I went back and found it, I decided I would just use the excuse "I missed it in all the excitement" XD~~

((Okay, just wondering. ;D I thought it would be smart to make you guys aware of that detail. ;) ))
The man tightens his lips to hide his smile. He places his other hand on the woman's back to keep her steady. "Let's take this slow." He guides her gently to the toboggan. When they reached the toboggan, the man let go of her hand and swept her off her feet, then lowered her onto the sled.
"I hope you don't mind the supplies. He runs back into the house, and stips his bed bare. He runs back over to the toboggan and drapes the blankets and sheets over the woman, covering her completely. He rolls the edge down until her face is again visible, he asks with both his eyebrows sarcastically raised, "Comfy?"

She had felt just a little pain walking, and her slow pace apparently didn't seem to bother the man,. He surprised her by sweeping her up and gently laying her down and it made her smile. She couldn't help but laugh as she poked her face out of the blanket cave around her and nodded. "Yes." Her yellow-orange eyes glittered with laughter, something they had not done in many, many years.

"Good, 'cause the way we're going," he shows a hint of worry in his face, "might get bumpy." he then makes a reassuring face and says, "I'll try and guide us the least abrasive route."
The man stands up straight and sees Wolf has returned to his wolf form. "Wolf, what are you doing back in that form? I need you human and on the back. You're my brakes. All you gotta do is hold on tight, and lean whichever way I tell you. When I say so, pull this lever." he points to a metal lever with a rubber handle, "Got it?"
He walks to the front of the sled and stretches a bit. He shakes his legs as though he was about to run a maraton. He grabs one arm and pulls it to the opposite side of his body, twisting his torso. His back cracks a few times. "Haargh." He expels a grunt to get himself in the right mind set. He shakes his head, "Rrough. Rrough hooo. Alright." The man shifts fully to his wolf form. There at the head of the sled stood a Gray wolf: 6 feet from nose to tail, his shoulders stand at almost a full 3 feet from the ground. His light gray coat seems to emanate from his dark gray fur at the top half of his head, spreading across his back, getting lighter and lighter until it hits the darkness of his tail. His legs, sides, underbelly, and lower jaw are almost perfectly white. If he rolled on his back, he would nearly disappear.
He scooped up the harness that was all set for a single wolf to jump in and bolt off. Always good to be prepared, the man thought. He pulled the harness tight with his teeth. He looked behind him, “All aboard?”

Natalya pulled the blankets tighter and nodded and then hid some of her fce as she knew that when they took off, they would have some wind, and she didn't want to feel the icy sting of the wind.

Wolf looked at the man and said: "Oops, sorry." he transformed back into a human with a little sadness to it. He still was sad about his wife, but he had to do what he had to do. He went to the back of the tobagoon (spelling still sucks) and says with a jovial smile: "Ready!"

The man nods. He can't help but see how adorable the woman looks bundled up in his sled. He starts pulling hard. He's not used to pulling two passengers. With each step he gains a little speed, with each step he gains a little momentum, with each step they pull further away from his home for the past few years. He steals one last look as he sees the smoke increase coming from his roof, and the walls begin to engulf in flames. Good it works. Kyle said that flue rig would burn the cabin down if it wasn't set right.
"Okay Wolf, lean right, no your other right. Okay, now left, good." The man "barked" orders at Wolf as they trekked through the snowy forest.

Wolf turned in the directions that the man was telling him to go. He looks up at Natalya to see if she was ok and says to her: "Are you fine? well as fine as you can be at least?"

She peeked out of the blankets and smiled with a laugh. "Yes, Brother, I am fine. You need not worry." With so many balnkets, and her demon blood warming her back up, she had to pull her head out of the blankets for a while to cool down a little. When she did, her pale white hair began a flurry behind her like the snow that had fallen.

Oh, you're not the one turning the toboggan, I am; you're just leaning so the sled doesn't flip over. Also, do you know what a dog sled looks like Joel? Dog Sled pic (http://www.dog-sled.com/images/full_size/robs_dog_sled.gif)
She's laying on the front, surrounded by supplies, and covered in blankets. You're standing on the back. ))
Trying not to let out that he's struggling, the man asks, "How's everone back there? HARD LEFT! EVERYONE LEAN!" While looking behind him, he failed to notice the large boulder that now stood in their way. He jumped to his left, and pulled with all his might against the forward momentum of the toboggan. If his co-pilot and patient leaned enough, they should be alright.
((I'll let one of you decide if we clear it. I'm at a loss as to where we go from here.))

Natalya heard him call beack and she leaned like he asked. Actually she was kind of tossed that way, but it helped her move. She looked up and behind her to see if Wolf was allright as well.

((Yes i know what a tooboggan looks like and your post at the house conused me so.... :huh:))
Wolf saw the boulder and braced his weight and wrapped his arms in the tooboggan what have you loop. (what is that thing called?) The toobogan swirls a little but with the weight Wolf put on it a well as the support from the guy and Natalya the tooboggan doesn't crash and the team continues on. Wolf yells to the guy: "You ok mister? Need a break?"

The man turned right again to correct their path. He kept giving direction as he answered, "No, If we stop, left, they can catch up; and getting this thing going again, right, will just tire me out more."
They broke through the tree line, and went out into a clearing. In the distance, there could be seen a small village. The man bowed his head and kicked with all his might to climb the small incline. They began slowing down.
"Wolf, help push, only a few more meters before the descent." The strain began to pull back at him, "Kick, man, kick!"

Wolf keeps his arms in the loop what have you of the toobogaan and kicks with all his power when they arrive at the hill. He screams at the man: "You ready?" He looks at Natalya and smiles waiting for a response from the guy.

The man had passed the peak, he pulled and pulled until he felt his harness gain slack. "Wolf! Jump back on, now; and lean forward!" With the sled now going downhill, the man was more running for his life than pulling the toboggan. He ran as fast as he could, if he felt slack in the harness, he ran faster. Even when he felt he could run no more, he ran even faster. Finally the hill bottomed out and they slid right into the middle of the village. The sled slowed, and the man slowed with it until they both stopped dead. The man collapsed from exhaustion.

Wolf saw the man feint and ran over to him. He checked his breathing and pulse and kne that the man was exausted so he goes to one of the houses and slams on the door trying to get someone to open up and help the man.

A child answers the door. He has a tiny quiet voice, "H-hello?"

Wolf looks down and is taken back by the child. In the nicest voice possible he asks: "Are your parents home young man?" Wolf smiles.

Natalya had hidden in the blankets as they had descended the hill. When she felt them stop she peeked out againand seen Wolf was speaking with a little child and the stranger was lying on the ground completly exhausted. With careful movements she lifted herself from the tobogan and walked slowly and carefully to his side and knet down. She placed a hand in is thick fur. "Are you all right?" she asked softly.

The man breathed heavily. His flank rose and fell quickly. He could hardly move; with each breath out you could hear a faint high pitched whine. "So... tired... can't... mo-uh" The man couldn't finish his sentence. He continued breathing and whining.
The child looks at the stranger at his door and slowly shakes his head. He watches as the woman stranger sets down by a doggy on the road. "A doggy!" The child rushes out to the dog and starts stroking its fur. He looks to the woman and asks, "Awww, what wong wit it?"

She looked up at the little boy and gave a sweet smile. She loved kids. "He's okay, sweetie. He's tired." she said as she ran her fingers lightly through his fur in reassurement that he was okay. She leaned down to his head and gave him a small kiss behind his ear as a small way to show her appreciation.

Wolf turned around and walked up to the group. He made sure that he wasn't behind the child and crossing his arms he smiled a gentle smile. Wolf leans down and asks the child: "How about you get your parents? Ok?" Wolf smiles again.

The man feels someone kiss behind his ear. He lets out a long tinny whine.
The child looks at the big stanger and says, "Dare not home. Dare in de next viddage. Dad say day come back t'mow-whoa." He looks back to the woman, "What'sis name? Why's see tie-owed?"

The child's question had caught her off gaurd. She realized...that she didn't know his name. "He is tired because he did a lot of running and pulling." she said and pointed to the tobogan. "See?" then she looked back at the wolf. "But, I don't know his name yet."

Wolf looks at the kid and says: "The dogies name is Dog. Hes my dog. Do you have a photo, a picture, of your dad?" Again, Wolf smiles

The child looked to the toboggan and back to the doggy, "He pooled dat? By hisself? Wow! Daddy says id take more dan one. You gotta strong doggy. You named yo doggy 'Dog'? Dat's not a good name fo a doggy. Can I name 'im?"

The child put his finger on his chin and tapped it playfully, "Ummmm... let's see. I wanna call him... Sparky! Dat's a good doggy's name." The child shuddered, "It's code out hew. 'Et's go inside."

Natalya smiled at the little child. She looked back at the wolf the child had so cheerfully named "Sparky" and leaned close. "Can you walk, or are you still sore?" she asked gently as she moved into his sight.

The man doesn't respond, his flank continues to give signs that he's alive, but he doesn't move a muscle.
The child sees the woman speak to the doggy and he half covers her lips. "Sshhh, da doggy's sleeping." He points to the big stranger, "You cay-oh yo doggy inside. Get outta code."

Wolf walks over to "sparky" and picks him up and also looks down and laughs within himself. He goes over to Natalya and smiles, asking: "Coming, Sis?" He winks at her.

She nodds and stands up carefully, then follows Wolf into the child's home. She grabbed extra blankets from the tobogan as she passed it. When they were inside she gave one to the little child, palced one over "Sparky and then offerd one to Wolf.

Wolf puts "Sparky" near a fire and puts the blanket around him and his around him as well. He turns around and says: "Thanks."

She smiled as she curled up in her blanket sitting on the floor. "It is still hard to believe that we escaped, Brother." she said, staring into the fire flames.

Wolf looks at the kid and says: "Yeah." He walks over to Natalya and whispers: "Be careful."

She glances at him confused. "What is it?" she asked quietly. She hadn't missed him looking at the kid.

Wolf says in a whisper: "This kid is at that age where he's liable to say anything to his dad. We need to keep quite in front of him and also find a cover story for his dad. If word breaks out we may be in worse case with these humans than anything else."

Her ears were white so the blended in with her hair to where they almost disappeared. If Wolf looked closely he would have seen her ears droop almost sadly. She understood what he meant. She just hated keeping secrets from the kid, but sh would be damned if she was going back to Zoram and his goons. She nodded her understanding.

Wolf smiles his usual smile and nods, ever so slightly, back to her. He turns around and with a smile asks: "What's your name young man?"

"Jef-fwey. What's yos?" Geoffery looked to the woman with a sad, but curious look, "Way-o did you escape fwum?" The child looks at the doggy, and sees it start to cringe and writhe, "Wut's wong with Sparky?" Even though the doggy's on his side, his legs are moving like he's running.
The man finds himself in the middle of clearing. The town he was once in was gone. The woman and her "brother" named Wolf were nowhere to be seen. He looked around but nothing was there. No trees, no mountains, nothing. He could only see grass in every direction; perfectly green at all at the same length, not a blade of crabgrass anywhere. No flowers, no bugs, just grass.
"Hello?" The man started to walk in one direction, but it seemed like he wasn't moving. No matter where he went, the landscape was the same. "The hell, what is this?" He broke into a run, but the scenery remained. "Where is everyone, everything? Where's the snow? Where's the village?" He stopped on a dime and did a 225 degree turn and began running to what was his right. He ran and ran. Suddenly the grass was gone. It was replaced by cobblestone. He looked down at his feet and immediately smelled burning wood. He smelled the scent of cedar in flames. He quickly looked back up and he was at the outskirts of a small town, staring at a burning house. His burning house. "KYLE!" The man ran towards the building he began to hear his son's faint voice, "Daddy, daddy, daddy where are you?"
"I'm coming Kyle! I'm here! Hang on son!"
"Daddy!" The child sobs, "Daddy!"
The man reaches the house, turns the handle, and storms into a stone room decorated with trophies of war and family crest above a fire place. "Wha- where?" He sees a man's silhouette in front of the fire. "Where's my son? What happened to my wife?" A deep voice comes from the silhouette, "Your family is dead." The words cause the man's heart like it gained 20 tons and it fell into his stomach. He whispers, "No..."
"Yes, your son, your wife... and her child."
The man shoots a confused, terrified look at the silhouette, "What? What do you mean 'her child'?"
"Your wife was pregnant." The four words stab the man's heart and leaves him feeling cold and empty. He stares daggers at the silhouette, "Why? Why did you do this?"
"Why? I ordered you to do a simple task, and you wouldn't do it."
"You told me kidnap a child! I could never do such a thing!"
"You owed me a child, so I took a child, your child."
"AND MY WIFE!"
"Your wife was in my man's way. She decided her own fate."
"Damn you! Damn you to hell!" The man runs straight at the silhouette and falls into a hole. He falls what seems like forever; screaming and crying the whole way down.
Back in Geoffery's home, the man shifts back into a human and wakes up still screaming with tears running down his face. "...aaaah-ah!" His arms spread out to keep his balance, he looks around scared. Everything is a blur, he stops and looks at a figure, it comes into focus as the woman he helped earlier. He wipes his face with one slow swipe of his hand, and looks at the rest of his surroundings, "Wh-where am I?"
Geoffery shrieks with glee and surprise, "Sparky's re-oh!"

Wolf looks at sparky with amazement and shock then he looks at Geoffrey and his blood runs cold. He looks at sparky, then to Geoffrey, and he continues that, back and forth a couple times.
Wolf says stuttering and overwhlmed: "Um, uh, ah. Wha-wha-what?"
He looks at Natalya with huge eyes and his mouth hanging open.

Natalya had rushed over to him, just before he shifted and sat up screaming. She was too woried about him to realize that he had justed shifted from a dog to a human, right infront of Geoffery. She placed on hand on his shoulder and another on the side of his face to bring his eyes to look at her. One of her many talents was to calm others, she wondered if she could still do so after all these years in lock up. She stared at him, unmoving, unblinking and spoke in a soft voice. "You are safe, do not worry. We are in the village. The very same you brought us to. Everything is fine." she said as she let a slow, but worried smile cross her lips.

The man looks into the woman's eyes and slows his breathing, he whispers, "Ky...Ky..." He closes his eyes and exhales a broken breath as though on the verge of crying more. He bows his head. leans his right should forward, and falls into the woman's embrace. He half-silently continues to weep.
Geoffery watches with a sypathetic expression. He says nothing as, what once was a dog, lies in the woman's lap.

She said nothing as she held him tightly and let him cry. She didn't know what he was going to say, but whatever he dreamed, it was bad. "Shhh..... Everything's all right. IT'll be opkay." she said holding him in her lap and brushing his hair from his face.

The man opened his eyes and finally woke up from his half-dreaming state of depression. He realized he was lying in the woman's lap and withdrew, standing on his knees. Embarrassed, he says, "I uh... What's um..." He looks to the boy and says with a slight smile, "Hi."
Geoffery's face brightens to see the man feeling somewhat better and his excitement about the dog becoming real returned. He leapt onto the man, hugging him, "Sparky! You're a real person now!"
The man stares at Wolf and the woman completely stupified, keeping his arms out wide, unsure whether or not to hug the child.

Wolf looks at Sparky and Geoffrey and looks like "Don't look at me." He mouths a: "Hes all yours, Sparky." He chuckles and tries to not laugh.

He looks to the woman and mouths the word, "Sparky" in a question. While not wanting to make the child feel awkward, he lightly embraces the boy and gives him a light pat on the head.
Geoffery stands back up and says, "I can't wait fuh you ta meet my daddy!"
The man just realized that they were in a house. "Where is your father?"
"He's in da next viddage."
The man raises his head in discovery. "Ah, and they left you here all alone?"
Geoffery shakes his head, "Uh-uh. Miss Craw-dod checks on me evwy once in a wile."

Wolfs eyes widdened and he looked down for a second then he looked up and said to Natalya: "We need to do something." He moves over so "Sparky" can see him and mouths: "We need to think of something."

The narrowed his eyes as though to say, "What do you expect me to do?"
Geoffery bounced a little and asked, "Do you wanna see my woom?"
The man pat the boy on the head and said. "Sorry, uh..."
"Jeff-wey."
"Geoffery; but we should probably get going. Some uh, bad men are trying to hurt these nice people, and we're trying to get far away from them."

Wolf looks at "Sparky" and shrugs while mouthing: "Ok." He walks over to Natalya and whispers: "Ready?"

Natalya mouthed to him that the child had named him Sparky as Wolf had named him Dog and the boy didn't like it. Then she had missed the exchange with the boy and "Sparky" as she had a small spasm of pain in her leg where she had been injured before. It made her think and she looked at her arm bandage that she could see and seen that she was starting to bleed through the worst one. She gave a soft curse that only the others would be able o hear leaving the boy free of it. She looked up at Wolf and nodded at his question. "Yes, ready." she said and went to stand up. She winced a little as the results from rushing over to "Sparky" caught up with her.

"You mean a snowmobile? Your father has a snowmobile?"
"Sure!"
"Where is it?"

Natalya heard Geoffery offer his father's snowmobile and she was surprised. She wasn't sure people around the viallge had them. Wonders never cease. She looked to "Sparky" ((You need a name Haha)) and shrugged her good arm. "We could use it. t would put more distance between us than the sled and you won't become overexerted again. All we need to do is transfer the supplies."

The man looked to the woman, releaved she wasn't against "stealing" Geoffery's dad's snowmobile. He then caught a look at one of her bandages, it was discolored with her blood. Not much, but enough. "Oh, we're not abandoning my toboggan. You're still injured, and most snowmobile fit only two." The man points at the woman's bleeding bandage, "You're going back on the sled. You need to rest, let your body heal."

She looked at her bandage again and grimaced a little as he mentioned the sled. She mad a pout but she knew she had no choice. It was that ot black out again, and those blackouts were painful. Plus.....he really seemed to want to keep his tobagan. She had to surpress a smile from that one.

Wolf looked at both Sparky and Natalya and thought. He came to his conclussion and said: "I say the toobogaan but I'm driving."

The man looks quizzically at Wolf, "Uh, sorry, but no. The toboggan's getting hooked up to the tail of the snowmobile. You can drive the snowmobile if you want. Unless you don't know how." The man turns back to Geoffery, "Okay Geoffery, where's your dad's sled?"
Geoffery jumps with excitement. "Dis way!" He runs into the backyard and starts pulling on a mound of snow. He pulls with all his might, and only talks in intervals between pulls, "It's. Unda. Hew. Dad. Cuh-vuhs. It. So. It. Duzint. Get. Nasty."
The man walks up and stops the child. "Okay, I'll get it." He takes the corner Geoffery was tugging on, and pulls it over and behind the snowmobile to uncover it. "Ah, there you go." He stradles the sled and starts it up. "Uh, you may want to move outta the bud." Geoffery moves to the side, and the man drives the snowmobile around the house and parks it next to his toboggan.

Wolf then says: "Wait. We can't put her back there. She may need to heal but if we put her back there we would be signing her death certificate. This thing goes way to fast and shes to weak for that."

The man laughs, "Haha. What toy sleds have you ridden in the past? My toboggan can take it. It gets pulled by eight dogs normally, it goes almost as fast as that machine. She'll be fine. We just have to use a tarp so no snow gets splashed on her. Can you get the tarp that covered this thing? It's still in the back yard."
The man went about unhooking the dog harness from the toboggan and chained the toboggan to the snowmobile using a heavy duty chain that was stored in the machine's seat compartment.

Wolf scruged at "Sparky" and went for the tarp. When he returned he asked in a mild tone trying not to scream: "Shouldn't we cover our tracks? Were stealing a tarp and a snowmobile, have this kids father coming tomorrow, and have the kid that can tell him everything."

The man explained, "The snowfall after Night's end will cover our tracks well enough. The boy will only know which way we left, he doesn't know our destination. Hell, I don't know our destination. But we keep moving, that's the goal here. Get safe, get her healed, and then we can think about what to do next." He extends his arm reaching for the tarp, "Now please..."

Wolf hands over the Tarp and looks at Natalya then back at "Sparky." He says: "Ok. I see what you mean."

Natalya watched as the two as they messed with the snowmobile and sled and had argued over the sled and her. She rolled her eyes and then walked over and knelt beside Geoffery. She smiled and put a hand gently on his shoulder. "Geeoffery, you know ow you seen "Sparky change from a doggy to a man?" she asked. When he nodded she gave a soft smile. "Well, you can't tell anyone about that, okay? Not even your father. You may tell him, you gave us your snowmobile, but not that he changed. Wolf and I can do the same. See my ears?" she asked and pulled on the tip of one of her white ears to seperate it from her white hair and smiled. "But it will be our little secret. Okay?"

Geoffery smiled sweetly and nodded excitedly. "Kay" He gave the woman a hug. It had been a while since he had someone be so nice to him. He liked it.
The man finished tying off the sled, and attached the tarp to the seat compartment in order to make sure it didn't slip. He made sure that all of the supplies on the toboggan were settled and secure. After he made sure everything was in order, he stood up straight, dusted off his clothes, and straightened them. He looked to the woman and held out his hand, "Ready?"

She hugged Geoffery back and then took his hand and smiled. "Yes, I'm ready." she said and let him help her back onto the sled.

Wolf goes to the snowmobile and revs the engine to see the power of it. He waits until everyone gets on. He asks: "So where are we going?"

The man helped the woman into the toboggan. He remembered her bleeding bandage. When Wolf jumped on the snowmobile, the man told him to wait a moment, and got his medical kit. He took off the bloody dressing, and saw that she tore open one of her stitches.
"You gotta take it easy. You were lucky this time; but if you tore any other stitches, you might've bled out." his voice carries a little more compassion than concern. After stitching her arm back up and redressing the wound, he checks her wound on her thigh, "Well, this one seems fine." He looks into her eyes, "Be careful, okay? No more strenuous activity, okay?"

She felt herself blush a little and nodded. "No promises." she said teasingly, but her arms was beginning to sting. She smiled up at him, though, so he didn't know she felt pain. It was something she did. Hid her problems from others if she could.

The man saw the pain in the woman's eyes, but she obviously didn't want him to know she hurt. A flash of worry crosses his face, but he instead finishes tying down the toboggan. He sits on the snow mobile with his back against Wolf's. He puts his feet on the front of the toboggan to steady himself. He looks to the woman and asks, "Ready?"

She took her blankets and wrapped them around her again and gave a smiled. "Ready." she nodded and tucked herself inbetween some of the equipment still on the tobaggon to help keep her steady.

The man nodded with a smile and leaned back against Wolf, "We're ready when you are."

Wolf revs the engine and leaves the village. A few minutes into the drive Wolf asks: "Where are we going? Any ideas?"

"Nope!" she called up to them with a smile. "Not a clue." she couldn't help but laugh.

Wolf gives a little chuckle from the laughing. He asks "Sparky" the same question: "What about you?" Wolf chuckles again as he says: "Sparky?"

The man rolls his eyes at the nickname bestowed upon him by the child. "Well, we have to turn off this road at some point! The next village is where the owner of this sled is! So... I say we change course and go East! If we reach train tracks, we'll have gone far enough!" He must yell over the engine and overturning snow that is hitting the tarp under his calves.
After a few jarring bumps, he looks to the woman and asks, "How's the ride?!?"

Natalya bounced a little with the bumps and made a small wince. "I've had better!" she called out, but smiled all the same.

Wolf notices a heavy storm coming towards them after they leave the village. Wolf screams at Natalya: "Hey. There's a blizzard coming. Be careful." Wolfs nose perkes up and he asks "Sparky:" "Do you smell something? Like I don't know, human?"

The man sniffs the air, a multitude of smells fill his nose. "Yeah, but with this wind, it could come from anywhere! Don't worry about it for now. Turn to the right up here, try to stay close to the tree line!"

Wolf slows down, slightly, and turns right. He smells again then says: "I smell it even stronger. I can't get over it. It smells to powerful.

"We must be nearing the other village. It's highly unlikely that those chasing us got in front of us. When you see something, then worry about it."

She gave a tentative smell to the air and was afraid of what she would find, but was calmed as she did not recognize the smell. "It isn't the ones chasing us!" she called to them. " I would know that smell, but I do not know this one!"

"See? It's probably the next village. Hopefully Geoffery's parents aren't at this one."

Wolf continued to drive and saw that the storm was coming to them much faster. He looked at it and became nervous. He then blurted out: "How the hell is that going that fast?"

"It's mother nature, Wolf. I've seen a storm whip up in 10 seconds, be perfectly calm 2 minutes later, then another storm brewed up in another 5 minutes." The man smelled deep, "I think I can smell the villagers' dinners. We must be really close."

"Yeah, but that doesn't look natural. Never mind, must be me." Before Wolf approached the storm he screamed to Natalya. "Were going into this storm. Be careful." He enters the storm.

Natalya amde sure she was secured down and pulled the blakets tight. She felt the wind begin to whip at her face, and snow was flying in a fury so harsh, you couldn't tell her own white hair from it all. She closed her eyes against the stinging in her face and eyes and tried to turn away from the winds, but they were coming in various directions.

Wolf tries to look through the wind and snow but is pummeled in all directions. The snowmobile is pushed back and forth. He tries to look trough the storm but sees nothing so he tries to smell his way through. He sniffs and smells where to go and heads that way but he makes a sharp turn screams to Natalya: "Be careful. I'm making a sharp turn." He makes the turn.

The man squints his eyes to stop snow from hitting them. He hears Wolf scream that he's going to make a sharp turn. He braces his feet on the toboggan, waiting for the turn so he can keep it balanced, so it won't flip over. He screams over his shoulder, "Remember with snowmobiles, that speed is your friend! The faster you go, the more control you'll have! If you feel like you're about to sink, gun it, and you'll blast out!"

Instinctively, Natalya's heand flew out to the side of the tobaggan to keep erself balanced. She couldn't take the cld as it pierced through the blankets and she had pulled another one over her. The storm was terrible and she had almost missed Wolf's warning.

Wolf speeds faster out of the storm and eventually gets out of it to see the village that he saw earlier. He continues on and asks "sparky" and Natalya: "Wanna stop? or keep going?"

"Which village is this?"

Wolf looks and sniffs around for some clue to see if this is a village worth stopping at. He finds nothing special so he says: "I don't know. It might be the one that Geoffrey's fathers at or it might not. I don't know."

"Well, we're desperate. Let's stop here."

Wolf drives into the village and stops in the middle of it. He goes to the back and offers his hand to help Natalya. He says in a jokingly manner: "May I be of service my lady?"

"Very funny, Brother." she sais, but couldn't help but smile at him. She stood and took his hand to get down from the sled, but felt a sudden queasyness overcome her stomach. "Ugh, that isn't fun." she said as she winced and placed a hand to her stomach.

The man spins around in the seat and turns the snowmobile back on, "Stop right in the middle of the road, yeah, that's not conspicuous." He says with an eyeroll.
He makes sure the woman and Wolf are clear of the toboggan before revving the engine, "I'll find a place to park this. See if you can find an inn. All the signs are covered in snow." He drives off behind the buildings to find a place to conceal the sled.

"Easy, easy. Watch your step. Here. I'm going to pick you up, ok?" Wolf grabs Natalya very carefully by the legs and hoists her up. "Better?"

"Yeah. I think I just got a little dizzy." she said resting her head on his shoulder. "My sotmach feels upset." she told him as she watched Sparky take the snowmobile and sled away to hide it for now.

Wolfs stomach starts growling. "Seems like we may be hungry. I know I am." He walks around looking for a hotel to rest at. He looks at Natalya and asks: "Got any ideas? I got one but it's risky."

She heard is stomach growl and giggled. She tilted her head at him. "Risky how? Whatever we do, we have to hide our ears and tails, never know when the village doesn't like our kind."

"Well I howl and when the villagers come out ask one where the Inn is. Obviosly there's a huge risk involved but it's worth a shot."

"Emphasis on shot." she said and knew he would get what she meant. "Why not smell out food, and see if it's an inn. If not, we can ask the people on the inside where one is.

"I'll try but don't expec much." Wolf smells the air and smells food......everywher e. "I smell food......everywher e." He walks up to a house with Natalya still in his arms and asks her: "Mind knocking?"

The man found a nice line of bushes to park the snowmobile by. He set about covering the toboggan and sled with the tarp and an assortment of blankets.

She rolled her eyes and then laughed softly. She reached her hand out and knocked on the door hard enough to be heard, but it was still soft as she was tired.

A young man, around 12, opens the door and asks roughly: "What do you want?" Wolf is taken back by the rudeness but asks anyways: "Do you know where the inn is at?" The boy looks at him then after a few seconds he says: "Down the street, to the left. It's huge, shouldn't miss it." The boy slams the door in wolfs face. Wolf walks away and goes to the hotel and enters it.

"What was his problem?" Natalya asked. "We did nothing wrong....did we?"

Wolf shakes his head. "Some kids are that way. I can imagine there are going to be others like that." He smiles. "Were here. Let's wait for him. Ok?"

"He doesn't know where it is....." she bit her lower lip and thought. "If you can try without getting us caught,do you think you could call him?" she asked meaning his howl. She would, but she had a long way to go in healing.

"Ok. I'll try something." Wolf lowered hs head and look down. "Hope this works." He looks around to check the surroundings and he makes his face transform. He looks down to the snow and growls so that the snow vibrates. "If hes within the area, maybe 20-25 houses he should feel that." His face transforms back.

As the man walks down the street looking at the buildings, he feels a pull and senses a call within, Whoa, I haven't felt that in a long time. Either they've found the inn, or trouble. I sure hope it's the former.
Since he was in the middle of the street, he didn't feel comfortable howling in response, so he just jogged in the direction he felt the "pull". He saw the two on the front porch of a two story building. It had a balcony-style porch above the actual porch. The man nodded his head and thought, Yep, if that's not an inn, I'm King Louis XIV.
He approached the two on the porch, "Bonjour. Nice, looks like you found it."

"Not used to the cold in your human form?" The man walked to the door and held it open for the two. He bowed slightly as the woman entered.

After Wolf had placed the woman back on her feet, he mentioned, "Don't over do it now. Those wounds were no joke, especially that ripped suture." he nods towards the woman's bandaged shoulder, "I'll check us in, you go lay down and get some proper rest. I'm sure a mattress will be a nice change from that old toboggan."
The man closed the door after shaking off the snow from his boots and went up to the front desk, "Hello sir, I need two rooms; preferably joined, or at least next to eachother. You wouldn't happen to have a kitchen that delivers would you? My friend needs her rest."

With a deep Italian accent the innkeeper says: "Yes, sir. We do have two rooms joined together and a kitchen. It's $25 a night. How many days are you going to be here sir?"

Natalya watched the Innkeeper as Sparky conversed with him. Smells from the kitchen were permeting the air and she put a hand to her stomach.

The man put his back to his friends and pulled out a badge wallet and flashes the inside to the innkeeper. "Until we don't anymore. Capish?" He put the wallet away hoping the innkeeper would keep his cool.

The innkeeper raises his eyebrow. "Ok sir. Go right ahead. The rooms are right there beside the kitchen. Here's the keys."

The man looks to Wolf, "Hey, kitchen's that way," he nods towards the left, behind the stairway, "grab something fast and easy, will ya?"
He wrapped his arm around the woman's midrift and placed her arm behind his head. He stood up, taking the burden of her weight off of her injured leg. He looked into her eyes and asked, "You good to walk, or would her majesty like to be carried once more?" He smiled a devilish smile to emphasis his light-hearted tone.

The innkeeper raises an eyebrow again. "Wolf? What uh kind of name iz that?"
Wolf walks over to the kitchen holding his stomach in hunger. The innkeeper then screams: "Hey. Ze kitchen is off-limits to all personel. I will send a waitress to you. Pleaze go to your room."
Wolf looked at the innkeeper and goes into the kitchen anyways. He sees several small food items including lunch meat, cheese and bread along other things as soon as he opens the refrigerator. he grabs as much as his arms can handle and goes to the guy and Natalya.

Natalya smiled and gave a soft laugh. "I can walk, but thank you anyway." she smiled widely. "Lead the way." she gestured with her free arm.

The man shot the innkeeper a look that said, "Drop it or get hurt." as he guided the woman to her room. He opened the door and led her to the bed and sat her down. "Okay, let's look at those bandages. Do you have any noticable pains?"

She took a deep breath and closed her eyes assessing her body. "My shoulder aches......there is a sting in my thigh......and my ankle feels tight inthe bandage. Other than that, I feel nothing. No pain." she said and opened her eyes again. She hated telling her weaknesses and she felt helpless, but she knew that she had to tell or they wouldn't get any better.

The man could see the reluctance in the woman's telling of her wounds. He put his hand on her cheek and briefly held her face, "Thank you."
He kneels down to one knee and takes her legs in his hands. He places them on his knee and unwraps the bandage. He inspects her ankle, "Well, all your running around didn't exactly help with your ankle." he looks into her eyes, "Thank you, by the way." He returns to his inspection, "Your leg is healing nicely otherwise. I'd recommend keeping the bandage on."
He moves up the tear in the woman's skirt, and moves it aside showing the bandaged wound. "Okay, looks like the stitches held. That's surprising, with all of the tendons that run through here," the man rubs the area around the wound gently, "It looks like it's healing nicely. I'd put a new bandage on it, just to be safe, but it's up to you."

For some reason she felt really aware of him now, and she wasn't sure what the difference was. As he touched her cheek a small blush started on her face. When he said thank you she couldn't help but smile, and her hand went to his shoulder briefly, "Any time." she said softly. He mentioned the bandages and she just looked at him. "I'm afraid I don't know much about healing or getting better. If you think I need it, I trust your judgement."

The man nodded decisively and slowly began peeling the rest of the old adhesive bandage off. The moisture from her body's sweat made it somewhat easier to come off, but he could still see that the adhesive pulled at her hairs. He empathized with her, anytime she flinched in a mixture of pain and surprise. He applied the new bandage, and then moved to her shoulder.
He exposed her shoulder, and looked at the bandage that was still stained with blood from when she tore the stitches. He shook his head in disappointed remembrance and peeled off the bandage, again empathizing with her wincing. He inspected the mend and cleaned it a little with a warm, damp, washcloth from her restroom. He replaced the bloody bandage with a new clean bandage and said, "The placement of the wound is precariously close to your tendons, I would suggest not flailing this arm around much. I would say you need to keep it in a sling, but again, it's your call."

She gave an apologetic smile. "I'm clumbsy......no Grace Kelly that's for sure. Maybe a sling would be better. A restraint in case I decide to wail out." she said and then gave a lugh. Like she would ever want to wail on someone.

Wolf came out of the kitchen with his arms full of food and looked around. He screamed to the innkeeper: "Hey, where did the people i was with go?" The innkeeper pointed to the room and Wolf walked to it. He bumps the door with his hip and says: "Anybody hungry?"

The man fashioned a sling out of the room's curtain. He was putting the woman's arm into it as Wolf came in with food. "Good lord, what'd you do, bring the whole fridge?"

Natalya laughed as she seen the pile of food. "You can't blame him. We weren't really given the royal treatment in lockup like that. He's a hungry wolf." she smiled.

Wolf chuckles at the man and says: "I'm really hungry." He looks at Natalya and says in a depressed voice: "Yeah. It was an still is depressing." He turns around to look for a place to drop the food and finds a very large and sturdy wood table. He walks over and drops the food on it and looks for something he likes. Wolf turns around and asks Natalya: "So what do you want? Meat? fruit, apples, pears, oh grapes? Oh coffee? Why would they put coffee in a refrigerator?"

The man answers, "Hey, some people like iced coffee, or perhaps they just don't like to waste food and drink. Me, I like boiling hot coffee that I have to force myself to take tiny sips."
After he was done with the woman's sling and dressings, he gave her shoulders a quick rubdown before saying, "Okay, you're all cleaned up. Let's eat and get a lot of rest." He points to the woman, "Especially you, missy. Wolf and I will be in the very next room, so if you need us... either of us, come on in."
The man went to the table and grabbed a turkey leg, an apple, and the cold coffee and went into the other room through the conjoining door.

She gave him a mock salute and laughed. She looked at the table and then back at Wolf as the other man left. "You get what you want, brother, then I will eat." she said and waited for him to get what all he wanted before picking through the foods and picking out come fruit and such before laying down on the bed to rest.

The man puts his mug of coffee on the fireplace. He lights the fire and digs into the cold turkey as he waits for it to warm.

Wolf looked at Natalya and said: "No. Let me get your food. Here."
He gives her some foodstuffs that she wanted then grabbed a large piece of Turkey, some apples and few pieces of cheese and went into the other room and turned around and smiled at her.
Wolf enters the room sits at another table that was there and put down the food eating the turkey and the cheese. After finishing the food, except the apples, he says to the man: "Do you mind?" He points to the coffee.

The man turns and replies, "It's not even warm yet. You still want some?"

Natalya shook her head, but smiled as Wolf worried over her. She laed down, her stomach fine for now. She let her thoughts wander a little before exhaustion took over. She let her mind slip into darkness as she felt sleep over come her. The others would be able to tell she was sleeping as they could hear the even strokes of her breathing.

"Coffees coffee man. I'll help myself." Wolf sat down in a chair that was near the man and had too many questions that he wanted answered. So he speaks up and asks: "Who are you? You know a damn good amount of medical stuff. You live out in the middle of nowhere and did something to make sure we don't pay for this room. Yeah. I was watching you. You did something cause that innkeeper just stared at you. And you still haven't gave us your name. What are you hiding?"

"First of all, you never asked for my name. You just barged into my cabin spouting off about your 'friend' being in trouble, later I find out that you were running from Zoram of all people! Then an assassin finds my house; the one that took me months to build. I stayed out of their radar for years; now, because they know where I am, I had to blow it up. MY HOME! I risked my life to help you and your friend, and now you have the balls to give me the 3rd degree? I could've just let your asses out there to freeze. How about, 'Thanks for saving my life,'; how about, 'Thanks for healing my friend,'?

Wolf looks at the man as he leaves and looks at the coffee in amazement. He looks awestruck and says nothing and decides against giving Natalya the bad news.

The man paced outside the rooms, fuming, for a while before calming down. He re-enters the room, gets into his bed, and throws the sheets over his head.

Wolf drinks his coffee an looks at the man while hes sleeping. He feels bad for flipping out at him but decides that this wouldn't be the best time to do anything. He thinks: "This is going to be a long night." He drinks his coffee and site at the table.

As the night grew deeper, Natalya became resltess. Nightmares and haunting familiar faces were nightmares in her mind. She whimpered and toosed with it until the fear became too much and she screamed in her sleep.

As light as a sleeper as the man was, the scream that awoke him could've awoken a corpse. He bolted from his bed to the adjoining door, flung it open; it was opened so hard it bounced against the wall and shut again. He ran to the woman's side. He grabbed her hand and looked around the room for intruders. "What is it? What's wrong?"

Wolf heard the scream and opened the door while running behind the man to see what happened. "What happened? Are you all right?" Wolf asked in a concerned voice.

She was so frightened that she sat bolt right and began breathing in shallow gasps. Her voice didn't make it above a whisper. "Th-they were coming! Haunting faces, so many faces. Somuch blood." she said, her eyes seeing something a million miles away. She began to cry as the dream stayed with her, not drifting away.

The man strokes her hair in an attempt to calm her down. He sits on the bed beside her and embraced her with his free arm, "It's going to be okay. I- we're here. It was only a bad dream." He shoots a look of worry to Wolf, "Can you get a pale of warm water, a wash rag, and a dish towel from the kitchen? Her forehead is burning up."

She hid her face in his chest tying to chase the dream from her mind. Her sobs died to small hiccups soon after and she just sat there with her arms wrapped around his waist. Hearing him and Wolf helped chase the dream away and calm her down.

Wolf went into the kitchen and got the pale and filled it up with warm water then grabbed a washcloth and towel and went back to the room. He gave them to the guy.

He continued stroking her hair and whispering soft, "Sshhh"s into her ear. When Wolf came back with the items, he put them aside. He didn't want to disturb the woman until she felt comfortable enough to sit on her own. He asked very softly, "Are you okay? Can I lie you down; or would you prefer to stay as we are?"

She held him a little longer and then leaned back, wiping a hand at her tear streaked face. She leaned back, but she didn't lie down, for fear of falling asleep again and the nightmare returning. The lullabye she knew only qorked on others, not herself, so she didn't want to go to sleep again.

The man could tell the woman was afraid to fall asleep again as she refused to lie all the way back. "It's okay, you need to sleep. Here," he wet a washcloth, wrung out all the water, and placed it upon her forehead, "Would you like me to sing to you? It always helped my son to go back to sleep after he had a nightmare."

"You....you sing?" she asked in surprise, but her voice never rose over a barely audible whisper.

The man lowered his voice to match hers, "Heh, of course. How else do you think I survived living alone for so long? Would you like me to sing to you?"

She looked at him softly and then smiled. "Sure."

The man continued stroking her hair and started to sing "Vincent" softly to the woman.

Natalya listened and a tear fell down her cheek. "It was beautiful." she said and smiled.

The man smiled to the woman wordlessly and continued to hum the tune. His eyes lost focus for a minute as his mind wandered into his memories. He snapped back and smiled again to the woman and asked, "Do you think you can go back to sleep? Would you like me to stay in the room with you? I can sleep in a chair, it's fine."

She shook her head. "That would be rude. I can try to sleep again. You both go one back to your room, if I need you I know where to find you." she smiled and laid back on the pillows once more.

Wolf looked at Natalya and thought about his wife then sighed. He walked into the room and drank some coffee.

After Wolf left the room, the man looked into the woman's eyes and asked in a whisper, "What's your name? Through out all this, I still don't know your name."

She gave a soft laugh. "Natalya. What about yours? You must be tired of being called Sparky." she said laughing again.

"Haha, how did I get that name anyway? It's Tyr, by the way. My father loved Norse mythology."

"Tyr. I like it." she smiled. "Well, we didn't know your name and we had to tell a name to the little boy, Geoffrey, so Wolf called you "Dog" since you were one, and Geoffrey said otherwise. Hence the name "Sparky." she laughed.

"Haha, Wolf calling a dog 'Dog'. Why am I not surprised?" He looked at Natalya with laughing eyes. Natalya... it was good to put a name to the wonder before him. His face calmed and he continued stroking her hair.
He asked again, "Are you sure you're okay to sleep alone? I don't mind staying." Tyr half hoped she would take his offer. He thought that if he asked while Wolf wasn't in the room, she might change her mind.

She bit her lower lip as she thought, a habit Wolf had tried to break her of. "I guess it wouldn't hurt, if you want to." she said and then smiled.

Tyr smiled back, still stroking her hair. "Okay, it's settled then." He sat on the edge of the bed a while longer before saying, "I'll go bring a chair closer to the bed." as he went to get up.

She laughed as she settled into the pillows. "You do that." When he brought the chair over she handed him a blanket.

Tyr's hand brushed Natalya's as he grabbed the blanket. He smiled and said, Thank you. He sat back in the chair and wrapped himself in the blanket. He let his hand hang out so Natalya could wake him easily.

Wolf grabbed another cup of coffee and waited for Tyr to come in. He sips the cold coffee then gets up and paces a little thinking about his wife. He stops and sits down again but is restless so he leaves the room and goes outside to get some cold air in his lungs. "Ah. This is better."

Natalya smiled, and gave a soft blush as she felt his hand brush hers. She settled om the bed, and found herself able to sleep again. Her eyes closed on Tyr's image in the chair, watching out for her, and she smiled as she fell into a dreamless sleep.

Tyr's vision darkened and blurred as he saw Natalya's eyes close. He fell into a light sleep. His mind heard the faint noises around him, keeping him aware of his surroundings as his body rested. He trained his mind to dream real-time happenings.

She slept through the night, with only getting up once to go to the bathroom. The next morning she had huddled under the blankets like a pup would do. Her tail wrapped around her and her ears were slack as she slept. Her white hair spanned the pillows.

Tyr's dream state told him that Natalya had gotten up, but went back to bed later. He woke up to find her curled up under her blankets like a cub. He smiles at her, strokes her hair and kisses her forehead. "Wake up, sleepy girl."

Her ears twitched a little and went up right as she slowly opened her eyes and then closed them again against the bright morning sun through the window. Her tail smacked the bed once and then she stretched, careful of her wounds, with a yawn.

Tyr braces Natalya's wounded arm as she stretches. He grabs one hand and interlaces his fingers with hers, "Good morning, Sunshine."

She gave a sleepy smile. "Good morning." she said and movd her head to where she could look up at him.

Tyr formed a wide smile, "Sleep well?"

Meanwhile Wolf continued to stay outside walking and looking around town when Dawn broke an he decided to go back to the Inn. He enters he Inn and goes back to his room and grabs several slices of bacon, 6 eggs, a lot of pancake mix and some sausage. He also put on a pot of coffee and got to work on beakfast. The breakfast took about an hour to finish and by time it was done the sun was out and shining brightly and the auroma of the food filled the room and likely the next few rooms. Wolf puts the food on a tray a walks into the next room and says: "Who's hungry?"

"Actually yes thank you." she smiled. About then Wolf came in with breakfast and the smell hit Natalya's stomach hard, causing it to gurgle softly, but everyone in the room heard it and she bluched a little. "I'm in." she smiled sitting up slowly.

Tyr smelled the food before Wolf had entered. Upon his entrance, he looked longingly at the tray. When Natalya sat up, he instictively helped her up and placed her pillows at the base of her back.
After seeing to Natalya, he turned to Wolf with a humble look on his face, "Thank you. I'm... sorry for yelling last night." Tyr grabbed a plate and began chewing on a strip of bacon.

Natalya thanked him as he helped her and took a plate. She knew Wolf could cook, he had told her about it before. She smiled as she began to eat, then heard Tyr apologize to him. "You two were yelling at eachother last night?" she asked confused.

Wolf looks at Tyr and says: "Your forgiven and I apologize as well." He bows to Tyr then looks at Natalya and says: "I asked a few things that weren't my business. He got. What's a word for this? Snippy, angry?" He looks towards Tyr while saying the last sentence then turns back to Natalya. "Now if you excuse me. I'm going to get my breakfast. Wolf walks into the next room, grabs his food, enters the other room and sits down and starts eating a piece of ham.

Tyr gives Wolf a nod of gratitude for his apology. He turns to Natalya and said, "I became, short with him." He ended it with that, if Natalya wanted to know more, she'd have to ask. He wasn't proud of his actions and didn't feel like advertising them. He continued to eat more of his breakfast in silence.

Wolf looked at Tyr and asked: "Coffee? It's warm." Wolf smiled trying to ease the tension.

She felt the tension in the room, too, and shook her head with a smile as they looked embarassed and a bit ashamed for the actions of the previous night. "Don't be hard on yourselves. It's only natural. With the fact that both males are in close proximity with eachother, with a wounded femal close by that want to protect, it is only natural that you would both be at each other. Granted the questions may have been out of line if they were not Your business, but Wolf only does things to look out for me." she said talking to both of them as she ate her breakfast.

Tyr didn't return Wolf's smile. He stood by the response he gave to Wolf's interrogative questioning, he only felt bad about his reaction.
In answer to Natalya's assumption, he answered, "No, it wasn't that," his face regained some of the annoyance it held the night before, "As intoxicating as you are, my reactions were based solely on his questions." He chews a little more on his breakfast, then adds, "I do thank you for breakfast though."

She gave a curious look, but it left as she remembered the word he had used. "You think I'm intoxicating?" she asked tilting her head as she was nibbling a piece of bacon.

Tyr looked up at Natalya from his breakfast and replied, "Deathly. From the moment I saw you unconscious in the snow, I was infected by your beauty; and ever since, that poison, that is your sweet heart, has spread throughout me. So much so that I fear no vaccine can cure me." He kept his eyes locked on hers the entire time he spoke, not once blinking or looking away.

Natalya couldn't look away from him, and every word sent a small and excited shiver down her back and arms and she felt her heart do flips in her chest. She was speechless. "Wow, what more could be said in a conversation after that?" she asked, and a slight blush painted her pale face with a faded rose pink.

Tyr gave a slight one-sided smile. He had wanted to say that for a while now, but it was never the right moment. Well, this probably wasn't the right moment either. A little voice reminded Tyr of Wolf's presence. He had almost completely forgotten he was still there. He shot glance in Wolf's direction and immediately looked down, cleared his throat, and wiped his mouth clear of anything that might be there. He stood up and said, "I uh... better replace these in the kitchen."
As he walked between Wolf and Natalya towards the door, he gave Natalya a caring smile, before leaving the room.

Wolf continues to eat his food listening to the conversation. He looks up and says, after eating his breakfast: "Wow. That's, um, interesting." Wolf looks at Natalya and says nothing else, acting shocked.

Tyr stood on the front porch with is arms wrapped around his chest. He enjoyed the sensation of the biting cold, but didn't want his body to go in shock. As he breathed out he watched his breath swirl in the slight breeze. The small gust of wind crept in through his collar and caused a nice chill to shake his body. He loved the cold. It was one of the main reasons he moved to this region after the death of his family. He remembered fighting with his wife over his wanting to move to colder climates. That memory made him feel conflicted. He still loved his wife and wanted to honor her memory, but he couldn't deny the feelings he had for Natalya.

Natalya finished her breakfast and went to the wash stand beside the bed, to spalsh water on her face to help wake her up completly. The water was warm, but the air had been a bit chilled, which helped her. She dried her face, and went to brushing her hair.

Tyr watched as the sun revealed itself from its partial cover behind the distant mountains. We waited too long, they could be here by now. Tyr shook his head clear of such thoughts. This wasn't the village Geoffery would've told them they had gone to. So they still had time before those chasing them would arrive. Not a lot of time. Tyr nodded his head and went back inside the inn.

Natalya had brushed her hair and washed up. She was trying to tie the laceup ribbon on her shirt that had fallen loose, but with one hand in a sling and a promise not to move it, she was a bit frustrated.

Tyr walked back in the room and noticed Natalya redressing. He instinctively turned away and said, "Oh, sorry. I'll uh, let you get dressed in private."

Natalya jumped as he came in and then laughed when he turned around. She wore a longskirted dress one of the workers had brought up for her since her other clothes were torn and not warm enough for the weather in her condition, as they had left other clothes for the others as well. She laughed and said to Tyr, "You are fine, I am only trying to tie the ribbon, otherwise I am dressed." she smiled.

Tyr turned back around and asked, "Heh, did you need any help?"

She gave a frustrated sigh as she looked down at her ribbon and blew the hair from her face in aggitation. "Would you please?" she asked with an aplogetic smile.

Tyr walked up to Natalya and tied the ribbon she was reaching for. "Healing can be so inconvenient. We better leave soon. We've been here too long."

Natalya smiled. "Very inconveniant." she agreed, then nodded as he said it was time to go.

When Tyr had left the room, Wolf gathered the plates and mugs and took them into the kitchen. He piled them on the island and went back into the room he stayed in. He put sheets back on the bed from the spot on the floor that he slept. After a few years of sleeping on the ground, a bed feels strange to sleep on. After finishing making the bed, he looks to the bed Tyr was supposed to sleep in. Seeing it as pristine as it was the night before, made Wolf a little uneasy. He didn't like how close he was becoming with Natalya. There were too many questions when it came to this strange man. He went to Natalya's room to talk to her in private about him, but when he opened her door he saw them talking. He was helping her dress. He fixed a stern look on his face and was about to ask that he have a moment with her, but Tyr mentioned it would be a good time to leave. His face softened. He was right, their talk would have to wait until they were properly away from those pursuing them. He gave a slight grumble and nodded in agreement.
Tyr gave Wolf a slight nod of acknowledgement as he left the room, "I'll get the sleds and meet you at the front door." He walked through the lobby and gave the man at the front desk an appreciative nod as he walked out of the front door. The sun began heating the air, it was slightly warmer than when he was outside last. He began to jog to the location he hid the two sleds.
((If you want to bring in any bad guys, this would be a good point.))

Natalya fixed her bed and emptied the wash basin before smiling at Wolf and heading downstairs. She froze at the bottom of te stairs as a scent hit her nose. She gave a whimper. Something was wrong.

Wolf followed Natalya down the stairs. He almost piled into her as she stopped. He was confused as to what stopped her. He looked around the room until a scent filled his nostrils. His mind washed with worry and he placed his hands on her shoulders, "Do you think you have enough strength to fight?"
((Can I rename the character at some point? Explain that he gave "Wolf" as a cover name so as to not have to explain who he was to Tyr. I really hate that name for him. I won't do it right away, it'll be later on.
((Also, as it's your RP, I think it would be best that you bring in the baddies. ;) ))

Natalya assesed herself mentally. "Adrenaline laced strength, I have. A working body to use it, not so much." she said worriedly. Just as she finished her sentance, something whizzed by her shoulder from the right side of the room. It missed them bu a bare inch and hit the wood behind them.

When the projectile narrowly missed the two of them, Wolf instinctively pulled Natalya down on the stairs. He looked up at the wall and saw a small hole. He scanned the room and saw no one. "Sniper. Stay low." He began walking low to the ground looking for any broken windows. He traced the direction the bullet had to follow and saw a cracked window and saw a small reflection of light flash. He fell backward to the ground as another shot went over his head. He rolled to a wall and propped himself against it. He closed his eyes and tried to find the man's smell. The sniper was wearing white camo, so he had to get warm under all that clothing. He leaned his head closer to the edge of the wall and began sniffing. Once he had his scent, he opened his eyes and looked to Natalya, "Natalya, when I run across the lobby, I want you to duck into the kitchen behind the stairs, okay?"
Tyr was uncovering the snowmobile when heard a muffled shot. With the wind on his side, he recognised it as a silenced gunshot. He tore the tarp backward and jumped on the sled. He started it and drove through the trees to the back of the inn. Just then three men in white ghillie suits stood up and started firing on him. He killed the engine and fell behind the snowmobile for cover. He immediately shifted to wolf and darted around the toboggan and into the surrounding forest with bullets chasing him as he ran.

Natalya did her best to stay calm, but when another shot was fired, she gave a small yip of surprise. She stayed low like she was told, and nodded her understanding to Wolf. If she had to, she would shift to get there. Tyr would probably scold her for that later, but it seemed like a good idea at the moment. She waited for Wolf to take off across the lobby before she quickly ducked behind the stairs and into the kitchen. The cook looked at her with confusion and she found herself a place to hide. The only place was an empty cabinet, tucked into a corner, and the only way she would fit was to shift. So she did. She sat there on her haunches, and did her best not to whimper. The cook had left the kitchen out the back way, when he seen her change into a wolf.

Wolf broke from the wall and ran acroos the lobby to the innkeeper's desk. He jumped over the counter and heard three muffled shots and three different impacts nearby. When he was safely behind the desk, he looked at the innkeeper as he fell to the ground with a bullet hole in his neck. Wolf felt sorry for him, but was more worried about Natalya at the moment. He snuck over the gasping man and peeked around the corner of his cover and saw that she was no longer in the room. She had gotten out. Good, the next problem was taking care of the sniper. He looked around his new surroundings and saw a long barreled shotgun under the desk. With an accomplished grin, he grabbed it from the underside of the desk and made sure it was still loaded. He flew open a couple of drawers and cabinets looking for ammo. After moving the now dead innkeeper, he opened the last cabinet and found two boxes of shells.
His next problem was that by the time he could look over the desk, find the sniper, aim, and fire, he'd be dead alongside the innkeeper. The innkeeper! Wolf smacks his head as the idea struck gold in his mind. He grabbed the dead man's body and after apologizing, moved him to the far end of the desk near the stairway. He made sure he was mostly behind cover but made sure a part of his arm was visible, so the sniper could see that someone was there, but wouldn't know it wasn't Wolf. Hopefully, the sniper would concentrate on the dead man's limb while Wolf went to the other end of the desk and found a good shot.
Tyr ran through tree after tree dodging bullets. After crossing behind a good covering of bushes, he turned towards the men and bolted straight for them. As the men approached the bush, Tyr bound straight at the middle man with his fangs reared and aimed at his throat. The man hesitated from fear and surprise and screamed as Tyr came down him. The men surrounding him opened fire and trailed after Tyr as he jumped on their comrade. Unfortunately, Tyr was too fast, and the men ended up shooting each other. Tyr ripped the man's throat open and jumped off of him leaving him to scream and wail. Hopefully his friends would get the message and leave. He ran for the inn and jumped through a window in the back.
He came crashing into kitchen and landed just short of hitting the island. He shifted back to human and started calling for Natalya, "Natalya! Natalya, where are you?"

Natalya had heard screaming from outside, and clamped her jaws shut to dampen a whimper as she hid. Then the window crashed through and she pressed against the back wall of the cabinet she was in, now unable to stop the whine of fear that followed. When she heard Tyr calling for her, she froze a moment, scenting the air by the door before she finally stepped out slowly in her solid white wolf form. She took a few steps to look passed the island in her way and then she ran to him, relief washing over her fear stricken mind and body. she geave whimpers and whines, but wheter they were from fear or sadness now, she didn't know.

Tyr saw a pure white wolf emerge from a cabinet, he'd seen Wolf's animal form, so he knew that this must have been Natalya. She ran to him whimpering and whining. Tyr knelt down and hugged her and began petting her, "Oh god, you're okay. It's okay, you're okay, we're okay, it's okay." He then remembered the shot he heard, he held her face in his hands, forcing her to look him straight in the eye, "Where's Wolf? Did he get hit?" Though it would make his life easier if he had, Tyr had hoped that he hadn't, they could use all the help they could get right now.
Wolf crawled to the desk side closest to the front door and peered around searching for the sniper, hopefully he was watching the corpse, and not Wolf’s position. He scanned where he saw the sniper the last time. He found a barrel sticking out and followed it to the white ghillied sniper. Without a scope of his own, Wolf could only hope and pray that this first shot hit purchase. He slowed his breathing and lined the shot very carefully. With a final breath in, he held it and squeezed the trigger. With a loud crack, Wolf saw a red mist fill the air he was staring at and the sniper fell to the ground. Not sure if he was truly safe, he kept to the ground and made his way to the kitchen. He opened the door and found Natalya and Tyr, “The front’s clear. I think anyway.”

Natalya had buried her nose against Tyr when he held and pet her, then he forced her to look at him and asked about Wolf. Her eyes widened a little as she looked to the door she had come in and made whining noises to show she didn't know. When a shot was fired she gave a bark of a yelp, praying to the Gods that Wolf was all right. Then he came through the door and relief washed through her body, her tail wagged a bit to show it, brushing against Tyr's side.

Tyr gave Natalya's nose a kiss and scratched her head before standing up to answer Wolf, "I took care three guys in the back. How many were up front?"
"Just one, a sniper."
"Good. That means they don't know where we are."
"What? What do you mean, they tried to kill us."
"A four-man team with a sniper. It's a scouting party. There are a few villages in this area. They couldn't know exactly where we were, so they dispatched scouting parties to the villages they didn't go to. SOP dictates that they were supposed to find us, report us, and wait for reinforcements. I guess these guys wanted all the credit for themselves."
Wolf barked aloud, "Okay, I'm tired of this cloak and dagger ****. Who are you? Why won't you tell us your name? How the hell do you know so much about our enemy? "
Tyr was irritated now, "Look, my neck is on the line here too. I've already given you my answer to these questions last night ! Now you may not like it, but I have my reasons for keeping myself to myself, 'Wolf'. The fact of the matter is, the guy who saved your ass has knowledge of your foe. That's a great thing in my book. Wouldn't you say so?"
Wolf fell silent in anger and frustration. He looked to Natalya and nodded slowly. "Alright, fine. So what do we do?"
Tyr thought for a moment, "Well obviously we run. The snowmobile is out back. Grab the three guys's equipment and put it in the toboggan. I'll get your sniper's equipment. Where was he?"
Wolf answered, "Second floor across the street. Look for the red spot."
Tyr took off out the front of the inn. Wolf patted Natalya on the head and said, "C'mon, let's get you into the sled."

Natalya dipped her head as if to nod to Wolf, then she took the gown from the floor where it had fallen when she shifted, and somehow managed to get her head and front legs into the proper holes, before shifting back to her human self. She followed Wolf out the back way to the Sled. That was when she noticed the smell of death in the air. This was going to be a long trip.

Wolf found the three dead bodies in the brush behind the inn. He looked around to make sure no one was watching him. He began stripping their equipment. He began with the middle man who had his throat removed. He started patting down the body and felt a vest on him. When he opened the dead man's shirt, he saw that he was wearing a bullet-proof vest. If this man had one, chances were good that the other two did as well. He motioned to warn Natalya just as one of the men began to stir. Apparently when the two men shot each other, the impacts only incapacitated them. Wolf quickly grabbed the dead man's gun and shot the man that stirring awake. The target fell with a red hole in his forehead. Wolf then trained the weapon on the still unconscious man. He then said to Natalya, "Strip the bodies of their gear. I'll watch this one."
Tyr made it across the street before he heard the muffled shot from Wolf's silenced weapon. The sound worried him. He thought the three were already dead, but one must have survived. If one survived, then the other might have too. Tyr found the red spot and rushed to find the dead sniper. Luckily, the sniper was still upright, so there wasn't a large puddle of blood. Even the sniper's ghillie suit remained mostly white; white enough to still be used. He searched the body and found the sniper had a bullet-proof vest underneath his ghillie suit. He took all the dead man's gear, leaving him with only his clothes piled on top of him. He slung the newly acquired sniper rifle over his shoulder and folded the pack he lifted, along with the vest in the ghillie suit and then he ran towards the back of the inn.

Natalya had jumped at the shot, even if it had been silenced. All this was havoc on her nerves. She began to strip the bodies as told, piling the weapons and vests and such into a pile beside the bodies. She was careful and quick, as well as silent. She moved the bodies with ease even for her small size.

Wolf continued to watch the last live flunky as Natalya stripped him of his gear. He tightened his grip on the weapon with every moan or groan the man let out. He knew what had to be done, but he couldn't shoot an unarmed, unconscious person.
Tyr rounded the back of the inn as Natalya finished dtripping the last of the field gear. He saw Wolf standing over one of the men. With a quick glance, he saw the soldier he killed and the other had a bullet hole in his head. So this last one must still be alive. He approached Wolf and said, "What are you doing? Shoot him."
"I can't. He's unarmed and he's not even awake."
With a glance back at the shot soldier, Tyr replied, "You didn't seem to mind shooting that one."
"He was waking up and he still had his gun. This is completely different."
"No it's not. When he catches up with his friends, he can tell them where we were and where we were heading. The only reason we're alive right now is because they don't know where we are. If he's left alive, we're dead."
The man begins to moan louder, announcing that he is starting to regain consciousness. Wolf stares with a guilty pain in his eyes. He knows the man must die, but it just isn't dignified to die as he's about to. He stares as the man's hand begins to move. "I, I can't."
Tyr sighs and with one fluid motion, he swings the sniper rifle over his shoulder, and shoots the man in the head. Tyr looks at Wolf and says with disappointment in his voice, "Happy? Is your conscience clear now? These people tortured you and Natalya for years, and they were just about to take you back there. This man isn't an innocent, he isn't a bystander, this is your enemy; were the roles reversed, he'd have shot you before your clothes were even touched." Tyr slung the rifle around his back again and walked to the snowmobile to check on its condition.
Wolf continued to stare at the dead body. He knew what was said was the truth, but he still couldn't help but to feel guilty. With a shakey voice he said perfectly still, "This wasn't self-defense."
Tyr responded immediately, "That was self-preservation," and went back to checking the sleds.

Natalya winced visibly when Tyr mentioned them torturing them for years, many memories came flooding back to her from where she shoved them back. She seen the look of guilt in Wolf's eyes and stood up and hugged him. "I know, Wolf. It feels wrong, but he is right. If he had woken up and told the others....we would have more than a scouting party on our tails." she told him, hugging him tightly. She pulled back to give him a small smile, squeeze his hand once more before walking to the sled.

Wolf enjoyed Natalya's hugs. They were always so loving and sincere. It had been a while since he felt one. With the running, her recuperation, and that strange man keeping her occupied, he almost forgot how well they helped. He smiled back at her when she pulled away; yet somehow he still felt her hug. Sometimes, when people hug you and break off, you feel just as lonely or sad as you did before the hug. Natalya's hugs had a habit of staying with you and kept your spirits up for quite some time. He nodded to them both as she walked to the sled.
He followed her and asked, "So, do you want to ride the snowmobile this time?" he caught his rude assumption before the man could say anything, "As long as it's okay with him of course." Wolf nodded towards the stranger as he continued to look at the engine.
Tyr looked at Wolf and said, “That’s fine. I’ll lay in the back with the sniper rifle and cover our backs. That’s if you want to ride the snowmobile rather than stay in the toboggan.” He finished up his inspection of the engine and ropes holding his toboggan to the snowmobile. The engine seemed fine, though he wouldn’t know if any big problems would arise. Engines aren’t one of his big fields. He double-checked the knots on the ropes towing his toboggan and started to place the equipment they lifted into the sled. He grabbed the flak jackets and held two of the three he had at his feet, “You guys may want to put these on, sure they’re not stylish, but they’ll save your life.”

Natalya shrugged and said, "Sure, I don't mind." with a smile. "She took the smaller of the two jackets and smiled again when he mentioned that they weren't stylish. "Style isn't an issue with me." she joked.

Tyr laughed and said, "I was joking. Style would only bring attention to ourselves anyway." He put on the sniper's ghillie suit and wore it reversed so that the blood stain would be on his stomach rather than on his back. He looked down at the stain and shook his head, "This is going to be a **** to get out."
Wolf grabbed a flak jacket and strapped it on. He waited until the two were done with their jokes before asking, "Is the snowmobile okay to run?" When the man nodded an approval, Wolf sat on the sled and got comfortable with the handlebars again. He twisted his torso and asked Natalya, "You ready?"

She nodded and sat down sideways, tucking her feet close to her and pulled the gown tight atound her legs to keep the wind off of her. She pulled the jacket tight and closed around her and then wrapped her arms around his waist.

Wolf looked back and smiled at Natalya, he then checked if the stranger had settled in the toboggan, "You set?"
Tyr covered himself under the tarp completely. The only thing that could be seen was the sniper rifle's barrel extending out of the back, which wouln't raise any suspicion. He called out with a muffled, "Yeah, I'm all set."
Wolf nodded and gave Natalya a quick smile again before turning around and starting the engine. He made sure to accelerate slowly so as to not make either Natalya fall off, or the man fall out. Well, he wouldn't care that much if the man fell out, but he couldn't just leave him here, he knew Natalya would never forgive him. Although two people running away is harder to catch than three, but there is safety in numbers. They wouldn't have to lug that stupid toboggan around everywhere, but again, Natalya might've been killed if he hadn't have been there to stop those men from rushing the back of the inn.
Wolf carried on his mental debate with himself as he picked up speed. Further down the trail, he turned to Natalya and said softly so that she could just hear him, "What do you think of going about the rest of the way alone? We have a snowmobile now, they don't know where we are, and if we leave him behind, that'd only slow them down more as they take time to deal with him. It would give us a huge advantage and give us time to figure out where we want to go."

She had laid her head down on his back for a while, but as soon as he asked his question, she jerked up to look at him, her ears perked. "Why would you ask that? I wouldn't have made it this far without his help, and if he hadn't of had the equipment we would have been caught." she told him with surprise on her face.

Wolf frowned, he knew she wouldn't like the idea, but perhaps if he argued it just right, he might be rid of that unknown man. He reasoned back, "Yes, but we have gotten this far. We don't need him anymore. You're all healed, mostly, we have a vehicle, bullet-proof vests, and a head start. All we would have to do is untie the toboggan and we'd never hear from him again."

"Where is this coming from? I know you only want to help and get us as far away as possible, but because he helped us, he is in just as much trouble as we are......Wolf, He burned his home down to help us...." she said a little sadly.

Wolf answered back, "I don't trust him. I know he lost his home, but that's precisely my point. Why? What is he hiding, that necesitated the burning of his home? How does he know so much about the 'SOP's of those tracking us? How did we get full access to that inn without paying a thing? The guy won't even tell us his name for crying out loud. He's hiding something, a lot of things. I don't like it, and I don't like him. I especially don'-" Wolf didn't finish his next sentence for fear of Natalya's reaction. He just looked straight ahead and kept driving.
((If you could, would you not have Natalya tell Wolf Tyr's name, I'd like that to be a continuing issue between them. She could tell him that he told her his name, just not what it is. Is that okay?))

"You don't what, Wolf?" she asked. When he didn't answer she gave a sigh and laid her head back down. "Maybe he hasn't done so because he is being careful and you haven't given him a thing to trust. He told me his real name. I trusted him, and in turn he trusted me. You should try it. He didn't have to help us." she told him.

Wolf knew the conversation was over, the stranger was staying. The points she brought up were valid, but Wolf still didn't like how secretive he's been. He hung his head in defeat and said, "Fine... fine." Without another word, he increased their speed, hoping to drown out the worry and doubt in his mind. The loudest concern at the moment was how close Natalya was becoming with this stranger. They seemed to be growing closer extraordinarily fast, which in turn made him feel as though he was losing her. After the loss of his wife, Wolf wasn't sure if he could handle losing Natalya too.

She hugged her arms around him to show him that she wasn't mad. She felt protective and defensive over Tyr. Everyone had their secrets, why was Wolf pushing this so much? she wondered.

Wolf felt slightly better when Natalya hugged him tighter, though it could've been so she just didn't fall off from the extra speed; he wanted to think it was reassurance more than instinct. As they travelled on, it was apparent that this road was much less travelled than others. They hit bumps and had to dodge rocks left and right. He was afraid that this meant that either the next town was really far away, or that there was no next town. They had been driving for quite some time and Wolf started to glance at the fuel gauge... which still said they had a full tank of gas. Great, the gauge is busted, now we have no idea when we're going to run out of fuel. He said aloud, "I hope this town isn't too far away." He said to Natalya, "Mind the yelling," before he yelled to the man, "Hey! ..." Wolf tried to think of some pronoun to call the guy to get his specific attention, but gave up and decided to just ask his question, "When's the next town coming up? We might be running out of fuel!"
Tyr whipped the tarp off of his head when he heard Wolf yelling for him. He couldn't see any trace of anyone following them, so he felt comfortable exposing his position. He yelled back, "What do you mean 'Might be'? What's the gauge say?"
Wolf rolled his eyes, he wished the man would just answer his question instead of investigating, "The gauge says we have a full tank! It's broken!"
Tyr rolled his eyes, "That's the wrong gauge. You're looking at the gauge for the auxiliary tank. See the letters 'A-U-X'? The gauge you're looking for is on the main panel next to the speedometer."
Wolf turned pale, first he says the stranger was unnecessary, then he shows Wolf to be the incompetent one. He just yells back a shamed, "Oh." He attempts to move the conversation further away from his mistake, "Well how far will the auxiliary take us? This ride seems to be taking forever!"
Tyr smiled humorously and answered with a laugh, "Not far, but the next village may be just around the corner, I don't entirely know. If we do run out, we still have the toboggan, and we can take turns pulling."

Natalya smiled a little, but she didn't laugh. She didn't have a bit of clue what the auxiliary gauge was even for. She didn't like machines like that much, she preffered running. She kept her face hidden from the harsh winds as they began to feel a bit colder and turned her pale complexion pink in the cheeks and nose.

Wolf hated the thought of pulling the toboggan with two other people on it. "Well... then let's hope the village really is around the corner."
Tyr shook his head in an unsaid disappointment. Wolf lacked character, when he mentioned pulling the toboggan, all Wolf could do was outwardly pray that it didn't come to that. With a sigh he laid back down under the tarp and resumed watching their backs.

Natalya rolled her eyes as she felt the tension between the two. "Men." she thought and gave an inward sigh. Then a scent hit her nose and she was sitting up again. She was looking around alertly as well. Only she didn't look frightened, she looked a bit excited at the scent. "Wolf..." she began as she looked for where it came from. "Turn left here around this rock.....then turn right and keep going straight." she told him. She wasn't sure how she knew but she did.

Wolf looked confused as he follwed her direction, "What is it? Where are we going?"
When Tyr felt the sudden change in direction, he called back through the tarp, "What's going on back there? We're in the clear, there's no reason to take evasive action yet."

When they reached a certain spot, Natalya felt a deep chill go through her body that had nothing to do with the cold winter snow around them. "Stop here, and cut the engine." she said. After a bit she listened and tested the air with her nose. Her ear gave a slight twitch before she told them, "Stay quiet, not a sound." and she watched a section through the trees with wide eyes. Within minutes a group was in and out of sight through the trees on the main road. Though the road had not been traveled - since she had taken them through the trees - they wouldn't find the snowmobile tracks for a while, though it was snowing they robably wouldn't find them then, either. Once the last one as gone and she was sure they could make noise again, she let a sigh of relief and hung her head as if it weighed a ton.

After the sleds came to a stop, Tyr stayed under the tarp and didn't move. After a time he asked softly, "What is it?"
Wolf looked around the immediate area with curious eyes. When Natalya lowers her head, he leans a little her way and whispers, "What's wrong? Did I miss something?"

Sh looked at them both suriously. "You didn't feel that? I heard, smelt, and felt them coming from back there. They are looking for us." she told them.

Tyr answered through the tarp, "Uh, I'm rather surrounded by a barrier here. Food, cloth, and other fibers;" he pokes at the tarp, "the only thing I can sense is what I see through the scope."
Wolf looked away, "I.. was distracted on my thoughts, sorry." He smells the air, the constant change in wind direction was throwing him off, but after a few seconds of concentrating, he smelled them. His eyes widened, "No, no this is too soon. We have to make it to the next village at least. There's nowhere to hide here."
Tyr, threw the tarp open with his arm as he laid on his side and glared at Wolf, "Really? No where to hide? Look around you. We're already hiding. There's probably four feet of snow underneath us, you can't think of any place to hide?" With the tarp off of his person, Tyr begins to smell what the others could. His eyes widen with surprise and realization, "Oh, that's what you smelled." His eyes narrowed as he sniffed more his eyes move around inside their sockets, searching for something, but not actually focusing on anything, "This group is bigger than a regular scouting party. I think they think they know where we are."
Wolf looked confused, "But wouldn't that mean that they do know where we are, you know, since we are here?"
"No, they only think we're here. If we can hide ourselves, they might pass over us; or..." Tyr's voice trails off in thought.

"Or...what?" Natalya asked turning to look at him.

Tyr looked in both of their eyes with determination, "We set up an ambush and kill them. If this is a branch of the search party, it would hugely hinder their efforts to find us. The problem is that we know they're armed, and we don't know how many they have."

Natalya's expression went from surprise to determination of her own. She straightened her back and closed her eyes as she twitched her ears a bit. She turned her head to the right a little then slightly tilted it before she said confidently, "Seven."

Wolf had a worried look about his face, when he heard the number of men they had, his face lifted a tad, "Seven, that's not bad. We two took out four, what's another three? Especially since we have another person on our side." Wolf motions to Natalya needlessly as he spoke.
Tyr tilted his head in frustration and glared at Wolf with inqury, "Are you serious? The last fight was a fluke. We didn't take out four people. We took out two; the other two took each other out. I was surprised those two were dumb enough to shoot each other. What happened was luck. Now wer're going against a hunting party. They're prepped for a fight. We have guns with stock ammo, acouple clips, and that's it. They most likely have extra clips and who knows what else.
"I'm not saying we shouldn't do this, I'm just letting you know the whole situation so you can make a clear decision." Tyr looks to both Wolf and Natalya, "It's up to you, stand and fight, or duck and hide?"
Wolf looked around with a painful worry in his eyes. After a moment of silence, he said, "I say we hide. Wait 'em out. If we fight, someone could get shot, and this time there's no cabin to retreat to."
Tyr looked to Natalya with an expectant expression, waiting for her answer.

She looked back at him with a gentle look. "There will be a time to fight, but not now. the time isn't right." she said to him. "We hide for now. And you seem to forget an awful lot that we are more than just humans here. They are humans, we are Wolves. Our senses are more keen than theirs and given the right supplies, we are stronger, smarter." she said this to both of them.

Tyr looked insulted, he responded, "I know we're wolves, that's how I saved your life last time from those three scouts. But wolves aren't bullet-proof, especially when seven men with automatic weapons are firing at us. These aren't amateurs Natalya. They know strategy. They know to concentrate on one target at a time. The only reason I'm hesitant is because I don't want you to get hurt further. In any situation of gun play, there's always going to be someone who gets hit."
Wolf interjected, "The innkeeper was killed by the sniper that shot after me. That's how I was able to get the drop on him; I distracted him with the innkeeper's body as a decoy."
Tyr's facial expression softened to a pleading worry, "See, I don't want the next stray bullet to hit either of us. I know we're superior to humans, but they have one thing we no longer have... numbers. You can be the greatest civilization in the planet, but if your enemy are 5x your numbers, you're lost.
"Don't get me wrong here, I know we could beat them. I know we'd defeat these seven, but we wouldn't come out without a scratch. And if we fought, we couldn't afford any wounded. So I agree with your idea to hide; I just wanted to give you both a choice."

"No one goes to war and comes home unscathed, I know they have numbers and what they are capable of. I spent plenty of years with the disgusting creatures." she said. She looked out over the snow, listening again. They should be far enough now that we can go again." she said turning back around in her seat and was then lost in her thoughts and memories.

Wolf had finished shifting when Natalya gave the all clear. "Are you sure?"
Tyr looked through his scope and confirmed, "Yeah, they passed us up. The snow covered our tracks when we entered the wood."
Wolf stood still, not sure what to do, "Well, wouldn't they be circling back to cover this area?"
Tyr shrugged, "I don't know, they should've searched this area before moving on. I guess they're getting weary. They probably haven't slept any like we have. Either way, we're clear to keep going, like she said."
Wolf nodded and shifted back. He got back on the snowmobile and started it back up. Tyr laid back down on the toboggan and pulled the tarp over himself. He called out from under the tarp, "Ready."
Wolf looked to Natalya and waited for her to situate herself before asking, "So which way should we go? Back the way we came? They already searched the town, maybe they won't look there again?"

She bit her lower lip as she thought about it, as was her habit, and then shook her head. "They will be researching that area since the scouting party never came back to report, but I am willing to bet that the town out that way -" she said pointing ahead of them "-is all clear for now as they came from that direction and no one was lost. We should head that way." she told him as she ****ed back into her side sitting position. She tucked the skirt of her gown inder her legs to prevent it from flying in the wind and to keep her legs safe.

Wolf nodded and said, "You got it." He started the sled back up and drove in the direction Natalya pointed. He was careful to navigate the conjoined sleds around trees and rocks so Tyr wouldn't be jarred so much. Once they were out of the tree cover, he sped up gradually. Once they were a good distance away from their previous hiding spot, he opened up the engine and sped off.
When they cleared the tree line and started in the opposite direction from the search party, Tyr could see them in his scope. Stupid humans. This shot would be too easy. He waited until two humans had lined up with each other and Tyr whispered, "Pshew... gotchya." He then felt Wolf speed up even more and saw as the humans faded into the distance.

Natalya held tight as he manuvered and then sped up. She was oblivious to what was going on behind herfrom hiding her face from the wind and the roar of the engine. She had a feeling of where they were going, and that feeling told her that wwhen they arrived in the right spot, she would tell Wolf to stop. They drove for what was about an hour and a half when Natalys raised her head and put a hand to Wolf's shoulder. "Slow down up there by the large rock and then stop." she said. This time she was calm about it, to show there was no danger.

Wolf slowed, hoping they were done with driving, he wasn't used to sitting bow-legged for so long. He slowed to a dead stop at the rock. He slowly drove around the back of it so that the sleds were barely visible and Tyr could still cover the road.
Tyr felt them slow and turn ever so slightly as they came to a stop. Once they were still, he asked throught the tarp, "What's going on?"

Natalya's ears perked at a sound and she slid off the snowmobile and walked a few steps, listening. "I know this place." she said, but almost in a whisper as if she were paying respects. "I don't know how, but I know this place."

Luckily the wind was blowing his way, otherwise Tyr probably would've missed what Natalya had whispered. He flung the tarp off of him and rose slowly still holding the rifle to his shoulder and kept his sight down the road. He asked, "What, did you pass through here before?"

She shook her head and looked around slowly. "No, it's....more than that." When she looked at the large Oak to her left, she walked closer and brushed some snow from the tree's bark and revealed an old Rune in the tree made from claw marks. Her eyes widened as she said, "I don't believe it..."

Wolf stood up and stretched his legs. His attention, though distracted by his groin pain, was solely on Natalya, "What is it; what do you see?"

She didn't answer. She looked at the run in the tree before turning to Tyr and Wolf. "You have to see the mark for yourselves first, then you have to follow me. We have to move as wolves to enter." she told them both.

~~Sorry, I thought I put it in, my computer glitches alot. It's supposed to be like on old tribal rune known only to Wolves, marking territories and packs. What she found was her home pack.~~

Wolf approached the tree and saw the rune etched into the tree bark and his jaw dropped. He looked to Natalya speechless.
Tyr backed up to the tree, keeping his eyes on the road behind them the whole time. When he reaches the tree, he looks at the rune and then looks to Natalya and Wolf. With occasional glances to the road, he asks, "Who's territory is this?"

She said nothing until after Tyr had seen it and asked his question. "This is.....my home." she said, her eyes bright. "I haven't been here in over three years." she said. Just then a howl rose up in the air and she looked towards the woods. She looked back at them and smiled. "Come!" she said and shifted. She hid her gown in the snow by the tree and walked over to the tree and waited for them to shift and follow before she would take off.

Wolf shifted immediately, placed his flak jacket next to Natalya's with her dress, and waited next to her. Tyr stood for a moment and ran back to his sled. He stripped out of his ghille suit and vest, put them under the tarp along with the rifle. He then shifted to his Gray Wolf and ran to Natalya, "Let's go." Wolf nodded showing he was ready as well.

Natalya's eyes brightened and she shook a bit of snow from her solid white fur before taking off into the trees towards where the howl had come from. After a bit she gave her own howl, and it was answered by many others. She came upon a large hole in a cliff side, where many different colored wolves began to trickle out of. When she reached the treeline she slowed to a walk to enter into the clearing in front of the cave. The Wolves' ears perked and some yipped and barked.

Wolf followed without worry as he felt a part of Natalya's family. He didn't really take into account that he hadn't actually met the rest of her family.
Tyr followed easily, but when they approached her pack, he slowed and kept his distance. He knew her family wouldn't too accepting of strangers. He approached the pack slowly, respecting their pack.

She walked up a ways and then stopped as a large black wolf came out of the cave and made his way down the incline and rocks, the obvious leader of the pack. He walked to about two feet infront of her and sat on his haunches. He gave a howl, everyone else was silent. She walked up to him and sat before him and gave her own howl. That was when the others began to jump and bark and howl with joy. The large Black wolf was her father and he knew his daughter had come home. She looked at her father a moment and then looked back at Tyr and Wolf.
"Who are these, Natalya?" he asked in a very deep and grumbling voice that matched the onyx black of his fur.
"These two have helped me come home." she said with a smile in her voice. He walked over to them and gave a bow with his head.
"My pack and I are in your debt for bringing my daughter back to us, and you will always be considered a member of our pack and family." he said to them, looking at them with deep golden eyes that matched Natalya's.

Wolf's eyes were bright and wore an invisible smile that, if he were human, would split his face. He lowered his body and his tail. He arched his back as much as he could while still keeping eye contact. He flattened his ears to his head and said, "Thank you. I've heard so much about your family from Natalya, I feel like I know you all already."
Tyr kept his eyes neutral, but respectful. He draws back his ears and lowers his body and points his muzzle to Natalya's father; but keeps his back straight and levels out his tail, rather than lowering it completely. He simply says, "Thank you." and regains his posture.

"Come." he said as he turned back towards the cave. "You can change and borrow some clothes from us. Then we will gather around and celebrate." he told them and walked up beside Natalya and they trotted back into the cave like they used to. Natalya looked behind her as they did this and gave a yip saying it was all right.

Wolf bounded off after Natalya and her father. He was excited to finally meet her family. He had heard so many stories over the years. He couldn't wait to meet them in person.
Tyr followed them silently and slowly. He knew they would be safe here, and that her father welcomed them, but he had been alone for so long. Just travelling with three felt crowded enough. Now he was walking into a cave with probably only one exit, amongst a pack of strangers. His stomach turned inside with each step taken.

The pack consisted of about 10 even without Natalya. Once inside the cave it looked as if it were just a den, but in fact once you went so far in, there were actually small houses and other various holes leading outside. All of this was built into the sides and such of the cliff they resided inside.

Once inside, Wolf looked around, eyes bright as the sun. Though the inside of a cave wasn't too far off from a dungeon, this cave had a feeling of family, warmth and acceptance. He felt more relaxed than he had in years.
Once Tyr was actually inside the den, he saw the larger spaces and other exits. He felt less claustrophobic, but he was still uncomfortable with so many bodies around. He followed Natalya's father to the changing area. He accepted the clothing and thanked them. His movements were slow and even though he moved very fluid-like, it was still rather tense and rigid. Once human again, felt a little more tense. Now he no longer had the protective fur guarding his neck, his teeth were dulled. Even though he was clothed, he felt naked to any threats.

Natakya was sitting with her father a ways from the changing area. He had hugged her and she had told him what all had happened over the course of her three year disappearance. Her father was a large man wityh long black hair as black as his fur had been. When she was through they looked over to the the two and met up wit them.
"Natalya has told me quite a story. Both of you risking everything to make sure she is safe." he turned to Wolf. "I am sorry for the loss of your mate." Then he turned to Tyr, "As for your losses as well. You both went through so much, could have just left my daughter to suffer and could have been somewhere else, but you chose to help her. I must know why you would choose that." he said calmy - as calmly as his voice would sound. Natalya stood beside and a bit behind her father and smiled at them both, all of her thanks and gratitude showing through her shining eyes.

Wolf was the first to answer, as Tyr seemed to not know himself. "We were both slaves. Contained in the same cell. The only way we could escape was to work together. Besides, after going through what we did together for so long, she became like family to me. I couldn't leave her behind. She had given me such courage to carry on and kept me from breaking completely. She helped me leave that Hell, there was no way I could abandon her after all she did for me."

He nodded his understandings, and Natalya stepped forward and hugged him tightly. "Father, he has been like a brother to me, and I have claimed him so." she told the large man.
"Is that so?" he asked and looked at Wolf. "After what you did, welcome to the family....son." he said with a smirk and a smile.

Wolf looked to her father and with pride in his eyes, he said, "Thank you. I... it's been so long. I... thank you."
Tyr sat still uncomfortable with his surroundings, thinking on what to say to Natalya's father. He just sat quietly rubbing his tricep with his opposite hand.

Natalya noticed Tyr's behavior and stepped over to him and her father welcomed Wolf. "What's the matter?" she asked him. "Are you all right?"

Tyr glanced around nervously as he answered Natalya, "Too many people, too few ways out. I've lived alone for half a decade. Lone wolves aren't normally so easily folded back into a pack. I don't know," he bows his head embarrassed, "I've lived alone and paranoid for so long, this environment is driving me crazy."

She nodded her head in understanding. "Most of our pack was made from Lone wolves Father had been one, until he met my mother." she told him. "I don't expect you to be like Wolf. He had a pack, and he wants that back. But you suffered a bit more, I knwo it's hard to get used to. You are free to leave whenever you wish, but anytime you need us, we will be here." she said, lifting his gaze to hers.

With Natalya's hand against his skin and her comforting words, Tyr stopped fidgeting and just looked in her eyes. He visualized what life would be like in the pack with Natalya. Running with the pack, hunting together, guarding the territory. Living out the rest of his life with her. It calmed him and warmed his heart. Then he glanced at her father, and the cold truth hit him. He would have to listen to what he had to say the whole time. He wouldn't be able to go where he wanted or do what he wanted. Perhaps one day Natalya might disperse from the pack with him, but she has just been reunited with her family. She wouldn't want to leave them so soon. He didn't even know for certain if she felt for him what he felt for her. Even he didn't know if what he felt was real. No, that wasn't true, he did know. He knew that he loved her. He knew, "I love you." Tyr's eyes widened with the realization that he had spoken the words aloud. It was too late however, the words were spoken. To recant them would be a lie; and he couldn't do that, not to her.

Her eyes widened and a blush covered her pale face at his words. But more over, her heart had done flips in her chest. She gave a smile and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him close. "I love you, too." She whispered by his ear. And she knew and felt it was true, she had for a while, but was afraid of how he might have reacted. She was so happy to know that he felt the same.

Tyr sat frozen, What the hell just happened? He instinctively hugged Natalya back, but it was less enthusiastic. He definitely was not ready for that to happen. This confirmation just forced a fork to appear on his life’s road. He hoped that fork would appear sometime, but later, not now. He glanced over at her father, who seemed preoccupied with showing Wolf around. He sat quietly and just decided to breathe. With the first breath of Natalya’s hair flowing into his nostrils, he knew there was no real decision. It wasn’t a decision, it was inevitability, it was fate. He had been living as a hermit for far too long. He had hid from the world long enough. It was time to look at the world, shake its hand and say, “Hello”. With that inner confirmation, Tyr tightened his embrace and relaxed his face into an indescribable happiness. He whispered in her ear, “Thank you.”

She leaned back a little to look at his eyes when he thanked her. "For what? I should be thanking you, after everything you went through to save me and Wolf." she said a little confused, but she smiled all the same.

Tyr looked deep in her eyes and replied, "Before I met you, I was a prisoner too. A prisoner of my own paranoia and solitude. I was shut off from the world, basking in my own guilt and depare. You brought me out of that. You gave me purpose. You gave me an understanding of what life should be about. I... ran from my past, hid in a small shack with nothing but snow and flame to comfort me. You showed me that I could live again. I could l... love again. Thank you."

Natalya gave him a tender look. "Sometimes the greatest stars in the night sky need a little help shining their brightest." she smiled softly and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek.

Tyr was confused by the illustration, but he understood the message. He smiled, when she kissed him, his eyes lit for a moment, and he glanced again at Natalya's father. He looked at Natalya somberly and asked, "What does that mean though, I... I can't live here. It's too closed-in. I want to stay with you, but..."

"Shhh, it's okay." she said placing a finger to his lips. "You don't have to stay here. The Pack has more than one location. We only stay here for the winter. Where we stay for the summer is close by and some are still there. They are stubborn." she laughed. "You can stay there if you like. I can show it to you. I need to see Hanaka anyway and show her I am well after three years."

Tyr looked down and nodded, "Okay." He looked back at her and asked nodding toward Wolf, "What about Wolf?"

She looked over at Wolf and seen how he was laughing with her father and she smiled. "He is busy. Besides, you look like you need a little Wolf break." she smiled at her obviously bad joke, though she hadn't meant to make it.

Tyr laughed, "Yeah," he looked a little self-conscious, "is it that obvious?"

"Actually you kept it well hidden, but the constant bickering and tension clued me in." she smiled. "It's normal we deal with that kind of thing all of the time."

He gound his teeth, "It's just... the guy grinds me down to my last nerve. Just by being who he is. He shows moments where he shines, but I'm glad we found this place. I don't know how long I could've taken him. I guess he's an acquired taste."
Tyr sighed and asked, "So do you want to go soon, or did your dad want an answer from me first?"

"That's Wolf for you." she shrugged with a smile. "You can give an answer later if you like, somtimes Father is easily distracted." she said and led him back out through the entrance.

Tyr smiled as he walked with her, he looked around and asked, "So should we get the snowmobile, or is it faster to go there on foot? Sometimes thick tree cover isn't exactly great for driving."

"Foot." she smiled. "Oh, that reminds me, some of the pack took the snowmobile and put it away for safe keeping. It'll be taken care of, the tobbagon, too." she told him.

Tyr had a disgustedly horrified look on his face, as though he had been robbed by a family member. How dare they take my possesions without asking. The thought croseed his mind for a milisecond before realizing that they were only looking to protect his belongings. He softened his expression and changed to a more accepting and understanding expression. I'm a part of a pack now, I'm part of a pack, I'm part of a pack.. He repeated the thought before exhaling and saying calmly, "Okay... ... I'll pick up my things after I 'settle down'." He spoke the words "Settle down" as though it was a sentence being forced upon him.

She heard the slight tone in his voice and looked up at him. "You don't have to stay here if you don't like." she told him. "I don't want you to be uncomfortable."

Tyr sighed guiltily, "No, I'm sorry. Five years of living alone in the open mountains." He shrugged sheepishly, "It's gonna take a while to adjust."

She nodded her head and took his hand in hers as she led him through the trees. After a short walk there was a clearing with many houses spaced out around. Like the cave, there were many houses all made from the land and what it would give."How is this?" she asked smiling.

Tyr smiled when he saw the wide open areas, and the houses that reminded him of his house of the past five years. "So, which one's ou-mine; or do I build somewhere nearby?"

"Follow me." she took him a bit into the village and to one of the houses. the house looked almost exactly like his had been, only a little bigger. "No one was living here when I was younger, and from the scent around it, no one is living here, yet. It's yours now." she smiled.

Tyr looked at the house up and down, he turned to Natalya and asked, "I get this house; just like that?"

She laughed. "My father is pack leader, and one day the pack will be mine. As long as no one all ready has the pack, I give it to you. I can tell no one has lived here while I was gone, so more than liekly no one will. It's yours."

Tyr smiles, "Thank you." He looks around, "So, uh. Which one's yours?"

She smiled and pointed to one across the way and two cabins down. "That one."

Tyr nodds his head slowly, "Oh. Looks nice. Has everyone taken care of it while you're away? It doesn't look as empty as this one."

She gave a slight frown as she tilted her head at her cabin. "....I...don't know. I haven't been in it yet."

Tyr shrugged, "Well, maybe we should see."

"Sure." she smiled and led him in. She walked in and took a careful sniff. The place still smelled oh her, lavendar, and sage. Little things around the place had Natalya's attitude and personality.

Tyr walked in after Natalya and looked around, "Well, this is a different side of yours."

"I wasn't always on the run." she teased. "I always loved calm things, but I used to be able to hold my own in a fight against anyone whether human, wolf, man, or woman. That all changed three years ago." she said and sat on her familiar love seat couch. "It's still soft!" she said excitedly. "Father would tease me because I loved soft things."

Tyr ignored her attempt at changing the topic, he sat beside her on the love seat and asked, "Would you mind If I asked what happened three years ago?"

She mentally sighed and knew her attempt had been futile. She turned in her seat to face him, bringing one leg under hear. "It was the middle of summer not a few miles from here. I was out hunting with the rest of the pack." her eyes seemed to stare on, seeing something else, a different time. "I was 16 and having a blast. I didn't always listen, so I ended up vernturing a bit from our pack. And as you know, that is dangerous for new hunters. I knew what I was doing, but I was careless and carefree. I had wandered and found a smell and took off without even seeing what the smell was. I knew a couple of the wolves had followed me as I had heard them running behind me. I...I found the source of the smell. But it wasn't good. I had found some of the men who work for Zoram. I had stumbled over one of their weapons on the ground, and they had caught me. They knew who and what we were. The wolves who had followed me tried to fight them off, btu they did something I didn't see and the next thing I knew they wer dead." she lowered her gaze as it became very sad. "I was taken to Zoram's where I was tortured, starved, forced to change against my will, which is more painful than anything you caould ever imagine. When he finished with a wolf, he destroyed them, which was how Wolf lost his mate." she said.

Tyr combed Natalya's hair back behind her ear and held her cheek. He wiped away a stray tear that had escaped her eye with his thumb. "It's okay. It's over now. He'll never touch you again, I swear." Tyr had an empathetic glare, his eyes glazed with sadness and hatred.

She smiled at him and placed her hand over his. "He is still looking for me though. I don't think he expected me to find my way home again, but he knows where my pack is, or at least close to where it is." she said a little worried.

Tyr's face had softened to a calculating worry, "So if his scouting team is found in the village nearby, he'll assume you've returned home." This isn't good. Does he know about both of your homes? We should warn yo- our family." Tyr's heart jumped as he spoke those words, "our family", he hadn't had a true family in years. Just the thought of his family from before saddened him, though he never showed it outwardly. He smiled and said, "See, I'm acclimating already."

She smiled. "He doesn't know about the one in the caves. Only another wolf can find them." she told him thinking about it. There was no way he could find the caves, but the village anyone could find. They had had a couple hikers fall into their village, and they would act human as they passsed by. But what if there was something else?

Tyr could tell something was starting to weigh Natalya down, "What is it? What's wrong?"

"What if he persuaded other wolves to work for him?" she asked. "Many wolves would beg and plead, saying they would do anything to get out of their cells. Many didn't come back, but they weren't dead...."

Tyr shifted uncomfortably, "That uh... is possible. I don't think Zoram is the type to work with our kind though. I've heard that he enjoys torturing them too much. That, he wouldn't dare think of allowing a... well, one of us to soil his halls."

She softly bit on her left index finger nail as she thought this through. "I don't know, he is a crafty guy. Wouldn't surprise me." she said.

Tyr sat quietly as Natalya thought on the subject. He wanted to alleviate her worries by telling her he knew for a certainty, but he didn't want her to ask how he knew for a certainty. He had just gained her love and trust, he didn't want it to go away already. He spoke up after a few moments of awkward silence, "I guess he could force someone to search for us like a bloodhound tracking a fox."

"Maybe you're right. We need to tell my father about this." she told him, dropping her thoughts on how for now.

Tyr stood at Natalya's words, ready to head off toward the cave once more. Now that he had knowledge that he wouldn't be asked to stay in that enclosement, that coffin, he felt confident about returning there. He noticed that though she said they should tell her father, she wasn't moving. He held out his hand in hoping to inspire her to move and asked, "Shall we?"
Wolf was standing outside of the cave. he was looking for the man and Natalya. After being barraged with meeting his new pack, he had forgotten his friend and her boy toy. He had a worried look, but it also contained worry. He had hoped that he and Natalya would be alone when they reached here. He never planned on the stranger being here and welcomed into the fold as he was. The fact that she left with him rather than reconnect with her family wasn't a good sign of his leaving anytime soon. Wolf began to pace about, waiting in impatience.

Natalya smiled and took his hand, leading him out of the cabin and back to the cave. When they arrived she seen Wolf pacing like he did when he became really worried. She gave a slight frown. "Wolf are you all right?" she asked him as they came closer.

When Wolf saw the two walking towards the cave hand in hand, Wolf gave a heavy sigh. Great, now they're holding hands. What next, Eskimo kisses? When Natalya asked if he was alright, he blew up, "Of course I'm not alright. You disappeared. We just ran away from a psychopathic tyrant who spent the last three years torturing us, and the last three days, hunting us down like some sort of Canis." Wolf hated the term, "Dog", he couldn't say it in that context. He even felt slightly guilty giving the stranger that title, but the more time he spent with him, the more he enjoyed the knowledge that he was called that. He continued ranting, "We've been running for our lives, and then you just up and leave without a word? You could've been captured again. I almost thought you were! But then you come back with.. with him. Mr. No Name, mister I'm so cool I don't need a name. We know nothing about him, and yet you go galavanting into the open forest with him?"
Tyr steps forward, "Hey, that's not fair. I risked my life to save your hide. I deserve the same amount of respect that you gave her father, a man you've never even met before. What the hell was that anyway? Rolling over on your back; did you think he would respect you more if you did that; or were you just sucking up? And for the record, I do have a name."
"Oh yeah, what is it then?"
"Like I said last time you blew up in my face; ask me nicely next time, and I'll be happy to tell you. I don't appreciate being barked at this way. Especially from a coward like you. Besides, it's not like you've been completely honest with me, 'Wolf'."
The "coward" remark hurt, but Wolf decided to save that for later, "What the hell does that mean?"
"It means that either your parents were the most unoriginal Lupine in the world, or you're hiding something!"
"Oh and you're not?!?"
"I - DON'T - LIE ABOUT IT!"

Natalya had flinched with guilt as he ranted each worry at her. He made very clear points. Before she could tell him that they had just gone to the other part of the pack, Tyr had stepped in and they had began fighting back and forth. She got to the point where she placed her hands over her furry ears and shook her head back and forth. "STOP IT!" she yelled and the sound echoed throughout the entrance of the cave where they stood. "I don't understand why you can't trust each other like I trust you! Don't you think if the other was going to kill you, they would have done so or at least tried by now?!" she began. "Wolf I have been with you since I was taken to that God-foresaken Hell-whole. I may be care-free, but I'm not stupid! I love you and tha fact that you are my brother and you watch out for me, but I am not a pup! I used to hunt on my own through these woods! Yes, I left, to see the other half of my village, remember I told you that during the winter my pack splits between the village and the caves?" she shot back at him. Her voice began to crack as tears began to flow. "I was showing him his home, he was uncomfortable in the cave, I don't blame him. And both of you have secrets the other wants to know about I don't see why you won't tell each other. Three days together of nothing but saving our furry hides, and you can't even give eachother your names! Goddess help me, you act like dogs!" she accused, and when a Wolf was called a dog, you know you did wrong. "Family and pack are supposed to trust and protect and care. You two can't even do that." Her voice was now a whisper. "I love both of you, and you can't even get along. Not even for me." With that she took off into the cave at a non-human speed, tears flowing.

((Sorry for the wall of text, defusing conversations can run a bit long sometimes. ;D ))
Wolf and Tyr both stared at each other with contempt and hate while Natalya spoke. When she began to cry, Tyr was the first to break eye contact and hold her hand, but she ran off into the cave.
Wolf watched Natalya run off, and without looking back at the stranger, he said to him, "See what you did now?"
Tyr lost it, but he kept his voice low, "What I did? Of all the things I have done to win your trust, to save your lives-"
"Oh you did it all for her."
"Yes. Because I love her; but I also did it for you. I could’ve let that operative taken you. I could’ve let him take you and I could’ve saved her alone. I could’ve knocked you out with the fire stoker, and let him cart you off. I’d have my home, and she would’ve stayed with me for a time. Did I do that? No. I destroyed my home to save your lives; both of you. Yes there are parts of my past that I wish to remain there, just as you do; but do you hear me ranting at you every chance I get demanding you to tell me? No. See, Natalya was wrong about one thing. I don’t want to know your secrets; because I respect the fact that you want to keep them as such. Oh yes, I have questions, loads of them, but I respect your decision to keep them. Like I’ve said, if you want to come to me like a mature adult and ask me nicely, I’d be happy to tell you my name; but I will not be interrogated. I do not deserve that kind of treatment. Not for what I’ve done for you and Natalya. I understand that you’re protective of her and that you want to protect her, and I want the same. I recognize how you feel towards her, I do too; but you have to accept that she doesn’t feel that way towards you. Stop treating her like a child who doesn’t know any better, or can’t defend herself. That’s the reason I’ve been treating you the way I have. Not because I don’t trust you, but because of the way you treat me and Natalya.”
Wolf took all that information in and just stood there, staring at the snow and sticks. He kicked at the leaves, trying to fill the void of silence between them. He had a look of exposed guilt that he hadn’t felt since he was a pup. He clenched his jaw and his eyes glazed as he looked into the man’s eyes. He immediately looked away and concentrated on a dead bush behind the stranger and spoke up, “Your right. I’m sorry. I’ve been treating Natalya as a child, and you like some kidnapper that was trying to take her away from me. I… I lost my wife, she was killed while I was being captured. I guess I found a sort of replacement in Natalya. I thought that if I could save her. If I could keep her safe… hhooo, maybe it would make up for the fact that I couldn’t save my wife. Then you came along and had to save us both. I… I took that as another failure on my part. What kind of male was I that I couldn’t save anyone, not even myself. I am a failure.”
Tyr looked around in understanding. He spoke with empathy in his voice, “You’re not a failure. Everyone needs help sometime. No male is an islan-“
“You are, you were living alone successfully for 5 years.”
“You think I built that place on my own? You think I set up that fail safe self destruct by myself? Of course not. I had help; and I didn’t save both of you by myself. You did half the work. You even kept me safe when I was unconscious.”
Wolf had an embarrassed look of pride, “Yeah, I guess.”
“Look, this is obviously tearing Natalya apart, our bickering. So… How about we start over, huh? New pack, new home, new beginning?”
Wolf nodded his head appreciatively, “Yeah, that sounds good.”
Tyr gave a nod and began to walk away, “Good, let’s go.”
Wolf stopped him, “Hey, uh”
“Yeah?”
“What is your name anyway?”
Tyr smiled and laughed, “It’s Tyr; and yours?”
Wolf smiled and replied, “I’m Adam.”
Tyr widened his smile and said, “Nice to meet you Adam,” and walked into the cave entrance.

Natalya had run into the cave. She was asked by many if she was all right. She just tld them she was fine and gave no reasons to her tears. Her cries finally slowed and she wiped her face, sitting on a rock and staring at the floor. She pulled her knees up to her chest as her ears lay flat and her tail swayed slowly behind her before curling up on her side.

Tyr looked around and followed the path of confused faces to find Natalya curled up on a rock. He sat behind her facing the way he came in. He lightly leaned against her back letting her know he was there, "I'm sorry."
Adam continued to look at the surroundings of his new home's territory. He figured Tyr was the better one to calm Natalya. He would go in and apologize once they'd spoken. He then stared into the distance as he began to confront his unfulfilled plans and to come to peace that though she would never love him in the way he came to love her, she was still in his life, and that should be enough.

Natalya had scented him when he had come close and she knew he was there. Then he leaned against her back and he apologized. "Is it from just you or both of you?" she asked, not looking up yet. Her voice held no anger or accusation anymore, but the small hint of sadness was hard to miss.

Tyr replied, "Both of us. It's only me here, but we both came to an understanding. He had to face a few ugly truths before we could make amends, but made they were." He looks around idly letting the information sink in. He spoke up again explaining Adam's absence, "I think he just needs some time to himself. He's been forgiven by me, I think he just needs to forgive himself now."

"I guess I owe you both an apology as well, after the way I blew up in your faces like that. It isn't like me to do that kind of thing." she said, leaning a bit against him as well. "I am sorry."

Tyr leaned his head back on her shoulder, "Ah, things just came to a head is all. Emotions ran high. It's a natural response. No one likes to see the ones they love fight." He nudged Natalya lightly when he said his last couple of words.
Adam looked up into the treetops and took a deep breath. He spun around and exhaled as he walked into the cave. He ignored his new family members as they attempted to ask about the situation and walked straight for Tyr and Natalya sitting on a rock. The sight of them leaning against eachother hurt, but these are the truths he has to face. He mumbled embarrassedly, "Natalya, I uh... I'm sorry I upset you."

She smiled when Tyr nudged her and then looked up when "Wolf" - she still didn't know his true name - had approached them. She heard him apologize and her expression was soft. She placed a hand to Tyr to let him know she was standing up and he wouldn't fall by leaning on her, then she took "Wolf" into a tight hug.

Adam hugged Natalya back. This hug was a little different than the others he had given her. With the knowledge that his love could never be returned in the same way again, his grip was looser than normal. His face, not that Natalya could see, was a mix of happiness and sorrow. He tightened his embrace a moment before letting go. It was a good-bye hug. He fixed his face to a relieved grin when he faced Natalya once more, however the slight pain of lost hope could still be seen in his eyes. He looked to the floor before speaking again, "I mistreated you," he looked briefly to Tyr, "both of you. I'm sorry; and I hope we can start over."
Tyr watched Adam's face as he hugged Natalya. He recognized the emotions he was feeling and smiled. He was proud of Adam for recognizing and accepting his new role in her life. After his apology, Tyr stood and put a hand on his shoulder, "That was very big of you. Thank you." Adam nodded to him and he returned the acknowledgement.

Natalya gave a warm smile. "You have a big heart. I know you wouldn't get worked up if you didn't think it was for the best." she said. She looked at them both, and felt warmth inside as she seen the two she cared about most getting along. She knew nothing could break them apart now. They were family, pack.

Adam sniffed and wiped away the last of his tears. He cleared his throat and asked, "So why were you guys headed back here before I blew up at you guys?"

"We were on our way to talk to Father." she said, not saying she had to talk to her father, but simply father. "We need to warn him that since we are home, and Zoram is still out looking for us, there is a chance he will try near here again." she said and turned to look at Tyr. "And I haven't given up on my theory, though it may just be my nerves."

Tyr looked mockingly insulted, "Hey, I said it's possible. I'm just saying it's not probable."
Adam looked between the two, "What are you talking about?" He looks to Natalya and asks, "I thought this place could only be found by other wolves? How could Zoram find it?"

She rolled her eyes at Tyr then was asked how Zoram could find the pack if only others wolves could find it. She gave him a "You just answered your own question." look.

Tyr gave Adam a "don't look to me for answers" look.
Adam looked back and forth between the two wordlessly. It was obvious they weren't going to tell him. He stared at the space in between them and thought about it. After a few minutes he shrugged and looked to Natalya helpless, "I don't... what?"

"Oh for Goddess's sake. He will use the other wolves!" she said to him incredulously.

Adam forroughed his brow, "But why would the other wolves reveal our position? Most of them were crying for death when we were last there. Why would they betray their own kind? Just so they could have a few moments without torture?" He lifted his head in understanding as he again answered his own question, "Oh... but they know that they'll just go back to being tortured afterward."
Tyr answered, "It doesn't matter. Any break from that pain would be welcomed. Some of them have probably been in that pain for so long that they'd do anything to not feel it again." He then averted his eyes, not looking at anyone, "They might even hope that if they do well enough, they could escape that torture permanently to serve Zoram." He fixed his eyes back on Adam, "Unfortunately for them, he wouldn't allow that. He'll just send them right back to the dungeons, and their betrayal will be for nothing but a few moments without pain."
Adam opened his mouth to ask a question regarding how Tyr had known so much, but remembered the promise he made him about starting over and respecting each others' secrets, and closed his mouth again. He looked around the cave and asked, "Well, where is your father anyway?"

"That.....I don't know yet. I had hoped he was with you, but that doesn't seem to be the case currently. Hmm...Time to sniff him out." she said and then smiled at the normalcy of her statement and how she had used to say it before when she couldn't find her father. She turned around gave a little sniff of the air and bolted inside the cave to find him.

Both men followed Natalya in kind. Neither really knew what to smell for, but they wanted to help any way they could.

She soon found her father inside the cave and they began to play a little, giving little growls and then she jumped on his back like she had done when she was a little girl. Her father laughed and swept her around like she was nothing. "So what do I owe this surprise?" he asked as he set her down.
"I have been thinking and I think we might have a bit of a problem on our hands." she told him. His smile faded into a serious face.
"What's wrong?"

Tyr and Adam followed Natalya as she spotted her father. When she ran off, they followed. Adam ran after her, but Tyr just walked calmly.
After Natalya had greeted her father, Adam came up slightly out of breath from the sprint, "Sir, sorry... to interrupt you." He looked to Natalya, "Did you tell him?"
Tyr walked up after Adam's bumbling. He just looked to Natalya for an answer to Adam's question.

She looked to them both. "I was about to." she said and rolled her eyes, but smiled. Then her face became serious again as she looked to her father. "I think the pack is in danger."
His cool golden eyes that Natalya shared, seemed to harden at her words. "How?" he growled. He wasn't mad at her, of course, or the other two with her, just the fact that something threatened his family.
"The year I was kidnapped, I was maybe but a mile from our village. Since we have escaped they have been out looking for us and they will most likely look here again. There were many of our kind there, Father, and some begged for anything to rid the pain." her eyes looked down to the ground before they reached back up to her father. "I think there is a possibilty he is using wolves to track us, so he may be able to find us, and if he finds us, he finds the pack." she said the last in almost a whisper.

Tyr finally spoke up, "This is pure speculation. We haven't actually encountered other wolves yet. We've taken out a scouting party, dodged an actual search party, and neither of them had any wolves with them. However it is still a possibility that with the scouting party's death being so close to this area, that Zoram may come to conclusion that she's returned home. Since his parties have been this way before, he may also figure out that he needs more than just humans to find this place."
Adam listens dumbfounded. He just listens quietly.

Her Father listened to this quietly and still. Only his eyes gave away the fury and worry that battled inside of him. "As you said, you are not sure of the others being used, but we cannot risk it. He barked out (Not literally) an order for watchmen to be posted through the perimiters, and the same was to be done back at the village.
Natalya felt a little more relieved when the order was given, but she still worried if they would be safe or not.

Tyr had stepped forward a step and asked, "What can I do? I don't want to leave Natalya's side, but I'll do whatever I can."
Adam stood silently. He wanted to ask after Tyr received his orders.

"I want you both to stay with Natalya at all times." He told Tyr and Adam. He turned to his daughter next. "At least one of them is to know where you are going and one is ro be with you at all times. Understood?" He asked. She nodded knowing their was no argument.

Tyr nodded as well. After hearing the further details of their guard duty, he asked Natalya, "So where do you want us?"

She opened her mouth to answer when a howl went through the air and then she blushed. "Well, that howl is calling me to the cleansing bath." she said averting her gaze. This could get embarassing...

Tyr smiled and said, "Embarrassing for whom?" He raised and eyebrow and let it fall.
Adam stepped up and said to both of them, "Don't worry. We can keep guard without watching you, Natalya."
Tyr rolled his eyes and smirked to Adam, "I was kidding. Calm down buttercup."
Adam gave Tyr a dark look, but Tyr just laughed it off saying, "Lead on Natalya," as he walked away from Adam.

She blushed and led them to the lake. It had crystal clear water and was well taken care of. A woman was there, about her mid forties. When she seen Natalya she smiled but it faded when she seen the two men with her. Natalya explained to the woman why they were there and what her father had said.
"Very well," she said with a hint of an Irish accent. "But you must keep your eyes averted." she said with a tone that held no argument. She showed them where they could and could not go and then led Natalya to the water. She had her undress and step into the water until it was waist deep and she began chanting and sprinkling herbs and such on Natalya.

Both Tyr and Adam took opposite posts of the lake. Both kept their eyes scanning the horizon and individual trees, checking for anyone who shouldn't be there. Well, besides themselves of course.
Tyr stood fast, keeping a vigilante eye out for intruders. As he heard the water fall from Natalya's bathing, he tightened his fist while keeping from the temptation of peeking over his shoulder. When she giggled from the coldness of the water hitting a sensitive area, he couldn't help himself. He looked over his shoulder to see what had been so funny.
Adam stood almost perfectly still, except lookin' left and right to watch for any vagrants nearby. He knew Tyr would look at Natalya from his comment earlier. He wanted to check to see if he was looking, but that would mean looking himself.

The old woman had her eyes closed as she chanted the purification chant and Natalya wasn't paying attention. The water had been cold from the chill in the air and she giggled when it grazed her bare stomach. Being in the water in this temperature would have killed a human, but not a wolf. She had petals in her hair and she had streams of water across her pale skin.

Tyr had lucked out. The old woman had her eyes closed. He craned his neck a little more to see Natalya. The petals in her hair glistened as the water ran downward. Unfortunately for him, her hair was strategically placed in front of her; but her figure alone was pleasurable enough to watch.
Adam kept scanning the 230 degrees he could see without Natalya entering his view. He saw a few blurs of movement, but they turned out to just be branches falling from up high. He heard birds calling and singing, droplets of water from Natalya’s bath, and the old woman’s mumbling. He had never known how noisy nature truly was until he had to keep his senses tuned.

The old woman had her back to Tyr and she took a bowl and dumped water over Natalya's head. This caused her hair to stick closer to her and then she went under for a moment. She came up and pushed the hir from her face as she walked back to shore.

As Tyr watched Natalya leave the lake, he realized the woman now would be looking to make sure they weren't watching. He whipped his eyes back to the horizon, and resumed scanning the forest around them.
Adam kept his head swivelling left to right slowly watching for any intruders. When he looked to his right, he saw Natalya exiting the lake. He let his eyes wander up and down her body and immediately forgot about his prior duties and the old woman who no doubt would catch him looking.

The woman walked out after natalya and she looked at Tyr. Nd seen he was facing away. Natalya took a towel and dried off the beads of water that covered her pale skin. The old womab turned to Adam then and yelled out in her native language which caught Natalya's attention. She jumped and pulled the towel closely around her.

Adam whipped his head away, embarrassed. His face red with shame. He looked at the dirt avoiding any eye contact with anything.
Tyr hears the old woman yelling at Adam. He smirks a little that he got away, but Adam didn't. He looks around at him and sees him staring at the ground. He glances at Natalya and sees her wrapped in her towel. He looks back away and calls out, "What's wrong?"

The woman was going off on Adam and Natalya quickly dressed herself. "Adam....was watching." She said a little shaken. She hadn't realized what she had dpne when she jumped until the pain hit. Her arm was bleeding once more.
The woman kept going in her language and it soundednlike it was getting worse. Finally natalya had heard enough and responded to the woman in her language and the woman left grumbling.

Adam remained silent, staring at the ground. When the old woman stopped her ramblings, he said, "I- I... I'm sorry. Are you decent?"
Tyr kept his eyes averted and didn't reply to Adam's question. He wanted to say something sardonic, but he could tell he felt bad enough as it was. He just shook his head disappointedly and waited for the go ahead for them to turn around.

Natalya made sure she was completly decent before she gave them the okay. "I-I'm decent." she said a little shakily. She wasn't sure what to think of what had happened and her pale face was flushed pink on embarassment.

Tyr turned around and walked to Natalya. He hugged her and kissed her forehead, "Are you okay? You seem put off."
Adam turned slowly, still watching the ground. He avoided anyone's gaze as he walked to Tyr and Natalya.

She mentally shook herself nd half avoided looking at Adam. "Yeah...I'm fine. I think I was in the water too long. I'm cold and when she yelled she scared me. Now my arm hurts again." She said putting on a smile.

Tyr looked at Natalya's arm. Most of wound had healed, but the center was still closing. The water must've weakened what he had used for the sutre. He looked to her and said, "It looks like your stitches are starting to dissolve. I need to check all your wounds, is that okay?" He puts a hand on her thigh to let her know he'd have to check under her bottom dressings.

She nodded as her hand went to her arm when he mentioned her stitches. "Yeah its okay..." She said, knowing he qas trying to help her.

Tyr knelt down in front of Natalya and held her lower leg in his hands. He was about to run his hands upward to check the wound near her upper thigh, but quickly checked that Adam wasn't staring. When his eyes met Adam's, Adam rolled his eyes and turned around. Satisfied, he ran his hands up her leg, peeling back her skirt as his hands travelled. When he came to her wound, he folded the skirt so it wouldn't bother him. He touched the stitching lightly with his finger, skipping every other stitch as his finger bounced along the line.
He looked up at Natalya and smiled with good news, "Your leg's healing nicely. The stitches are no longer necessary, so you don't have to worry about them bursting; but don't think that gives you license to go crazy. Your skin could still tear. You're not completely healed, just your epidermis." He let her skirt fall back down over his hands as he caressed her calf and behind her knee. He continued, "How does your abdomen feel? I should check that one next."

She blushed and tried to keep the shiver from her body as she felt his fingers along her skin. She nodded and listened to what he had to say and smled when he told her not to go crazy. Then he mentioned her abdomen. She wore a shirt and skirt so there would be no embarrassing, anymore than possible. She shrugged. "It stings a little... But otherwise fine." She said.then he said he wanted to check so she lifted her shirt until it was just under her breast yet showing only her midriff.

Tyr could feel Natalya's muscles tensing at his touch. A small smirk crossed his face. When she lifted her shirt, exposing her stomach, his heart quickened. He gave a small, barely audible, sigh and let go of her leg to reach for her stomach. He trailed his fingertips over her abs in an upward direction, staring into her eyes; then wiped downward lightly with his palm, stopping at her wound.
He smiled at her before looking at it and inspecting the stitching. The stitching was stretching, but it was holding fast. Enough of the wound was closing that she didn't need anymore, nor did they need tightening; but a dressing would definitely help her heal further. He looked back up to her serious again and said, "You'll need some sort of covering for this. Gauze, or an Ace bandage. Something other than loose fabric." He grabbed a piece of her shirt that was under her breast and tugged a little at it. He then rested his hand on her hip, "Otherwise it should keep healing fine; but again, don't over-strain yourself. Your abs are at the center of all your movements," he began rubbing her tummy with his resting hand, "you should move with care. Of course with your grace, that shouldn’t be a problem.” He flashed her another smile, “How’s the shoulder?”

Her stomach tightened at his touch and she gave an almost audible gasp. He checked her over and she was concious of how close he was and her eyes couldn't leave his as ae watched her. "I'll be careful." She smiled at his compliment and blushed a little. She gave slight shiver when he. Had tugged her shirt...his finger had just barely grazed the underside of her breast. He then asked about her shoulder. "I haven't had much trouble with it. Actually forgot about it." She said.

Tyr smirked at Silver's body's reactions. He pulled her shirt the rest of the way down very slowly, trailing his fingertips across her skin. He then straightened out any wrinkles softly and slowly. He never broke eye contact as he stood up to his full height. He glanced at her shoulder as he held his hand over it. He looks back in her eyes and places his middle finger under the collar of her shirt. He then slides his finger down her shoulder, exposing her wound. He looks at it; it had healed up nicely. It was just a shallow cut to begin with. It had only needed a bandage and disinfectant. It was almost perfectly healed. He bowed his head and kissed the wound softly. He raised his head again, looking in her eyes and asked, "How does it feel now?"

Shw wasn't sure if he was diliberately teasing her or gauging her reactions. Even looking into his eyes caused her body to warm. He bdent to kiss her shoulder and Natalya gave a. Tremble as his lips brushed her skin. "She had meant to answer with'better' when skwd hwit feltinatead she said "good..."

Tyr gave a small pleased smile and said, "Good." He stood straight once more and brushed her cheek with the back of his fingers. He then held her cheek and said, "Just take it easy, okay? Leave the strenuous stuff to me. I'll always be here for you."

She nodded and smiled. "Okay." She put her hand over hus and turned to kiss his palm.

Tyr softly replaced his hand to her cheek and pushed her face to face his. He leaned in and gave her a long, soft, loving kiss.
Adam felt odd standing by listening to the two's conversation. When silence came over them, he began to be curious as to what made them quiet. He looked over his shoulder and saw Tyr kiss Natalya. He brought his head back around and looked at his feet dejected. He knew the truth of the situation, he had spoken with Tyr about it earlier; but seeing it unfold before his very eyes was too painful to view.

Natalya's heart fluttered as Tyr kissed her. Her stomach was warm and full of butterflies, the feeling of soft wings brushing the edges of her midsection. His lips were soft like a carress. Her hand reached up to rest against his shouler as she kissed him back.

Tyr grabbed Natalya's back with his left hand while keeping his right on her cheek, and pulled her closer to him. He continued to kiss her softly, keeping his tongue inside his own mouth. The breath escaping his nose quickened as did his heart. His hand began to slide lower.
Adam looked back over his shoulder and saw their kiss had become a little more intense. He rolled his eyes, feeling insulted that they were kissing right in front of him. He glanced at the old woman, giving her a questioning look as to why she wasn't breaking them up.

There was a little cottage hidden in the brush in which the old woman had retreated and therefore had missed the public display.
Natalya felt him press her closer and she found her body fit in the shape of his. She had been taken in the moment that she had forgotten Adam. She did not want to hurt him but she only felt a sisters love for him. At the moment all she knew was the soft kiss and the warmth from Tyr's body pressed against herown.

When Adam looked toward where he expected to find the old woman, he found she had gone. Great, I have to be subjected to this? He gave the kiss a few more seconds before impatience took him over. He raised a closed hand to his mouth and cleared his throat loudly and deliberately, hoping to bring the two "love birds" back to reality.
Tyr opened his eyes and broke off the kiss after Adam's interruption. He licked his lips and cleared his own throat. He looked back and forth between Adam and Natalya a few times before saying, "Sorry," to Adam. He looked back to Natalya and gave her a gave her an embarrassed smile as though saying, I think we made him mad and gave a quick glance back at Adam illustrating who the look was regarding.

Natalya jumped a little as she was brought back. She licked her lips and looked like an innocent child who got caught with rye cookie jar. She seen the look that Tyr gave her. She looked to Adam embarassed. "Sorry...." She said softly.

Adam rolled his eyes, not believing that they truly were sorry. He said, "Okay, so you're clean, what now?"
Tyr gave Adam a pleading look and then gave him a bright smile, "Now we take our bath!" He ran straight at Adam and tackled him into the lake. Tyr didn't wait for Adam's reaction; he just swam away from his kicking body and jumped back up. He fell backward into the lake and began removing his dirty clothes. He wriggled and writhed out of them while still underwater. He then stood up chest-deep in the water and began rubbing the dirt out of his hair, occasionally rinsing it in the water. He grabbed his floating clothes and threw them ashore at Natalya.
Adam stood after Tyr tackled him and watched his odd bathing technique. When he threw his clothes at Natalya, Adam said, “Dude, what the hell?”
Tyr ignored Adam and kept his eyes on Natalya. He started to walk to the shore. He knew that the waves created by his movements wouldn’t hide his body forever and that she might see certain details. He waited until the water line passed his belly button and he began to change to a wolf. First his eyes changed, his face elongated, fur sprouted from his face and travelled down his chest. It progressed to his hands, which had changed to paws. Finally, as the water line passed his pelvis, he fell on all fours, now fully wolf. He trotted up to Natalya and gave her hand a playful lick, “So, does my new house have any clean clothes?”

Natalya couldn't help but laugh as Tyr tackled Adam into the water. She had seen the playful look in his eyes as the idea occured. She watched smiling, then her smile falterd a little with a look of surprise as Tyr threw his clothes at her. She picked them up from the ground and laid them on the large boulder beside her. She heard Adam and smiled again. She watched him as he changed into a wolf. She patted her index finger on his nose after he licked her. "Yeah. There should be some in the closet. If they don't fit we could get them tailored. Tinana is good with sewing." She said.
She looked to Adam as ahe waited for him to finish. She was sorry though she seen he didn't believe her, and that hurt her. He was family, her Pack Brother.

Adam could see the hurt in Natalya's eyes. His attitude was distancing himself from her even more than Tyr was. He lowered his gaze again this time in an internal fit. His guilt was written all over his face. He looked to Natalya with watered eyes, not from the lake. He gave a weak attempt at a smile and mouthed, "Sorry." He couldn't keep eye contact for more than a split second from the shame of losing himself in this contest over her love.
Tyr didn't bother looking at Adam, he was having too much fun to see the scowl that he was probably throwing at him. Instead he noticed Natalya wasn't following, so he nicely grabbed her skirt with his teeth and gave a little pull, encouraging her to go with him to the house.

Natalya nodded as Adam apologized. She didn't quite understand why he had such a grudge against Tyr. She felt Tyr tug on her skirt like qn impatient puppy and with one last look at Adam she left.

Adam smiled at Natalya when she nodded. When she turned away at Tyr "request", his smile disappeared, and he looked down to the water again. He decided since noone was around, that he might as well take a bath himself.
Tyr let go of Natalya's skirt once he saw her legs moving in his direction. He stayed in step with her, walking by her side. When they reached his new house, he sat at the door, waiting for her to open the door for him. Were he clothed, he would've shifted and opened it himself, but he didn't feel like flashing his neighbors on the very first day he moved in.

She smiled when he sat down on his haunches waiting for the door. She scratched behind his right ear before opening the door. She let him walk in before she went in and closed the door. "There should be clothes in the closet in the bedroom." She said aitting in the den.

Tyr trotted back into the bedroom, wagging his tail back and forth as he went. He then shifted back to his human form just before leaving her line of sight. The closet was easy enough to find. Two sliding mirrored panels made the doors. It was fancier than his closet growing up. The previous owners must've really put a lot of care in this house. Not much could be seen in the mirror as it was layered with dust; but there were pockets where you could see reflections of the room. He opened the right side of the closet and saw a collection of women's clothing. Tyr's face had saddened a bit, reflecting on the loss of this loving couple and his own loss. His face brightened a moment later, though, at his fortune of finding Natalya. Perhaps he could start again, and maybe this time get it right.
Tyr closed the right side and slid opened the left. There he saw the collection of men's clothing. A small man apparently. Not too small that the clothes wouldn't fit, but they would be snug. He removed a tanktop from a hangar thinking, Who hangs a tank top? He puts it on and the shirt clings onto his torso. He peruses the pants and finds a pair; apparently from this person's fat days, 'cause it was larger than his others. The jeans fit well, he had full range of movement, and nothing was pinching or smashed. He called back to Natalya, "It's okay, you can come back. I'm decent now." He then went back to searching for a shirt to wear over the tank top.

Natalya stood and was at the entrance without a sound. The only noise of her being there was her soft breathing and tye brush of her tail on the wall and her skirt. She knew what he was lookigg for and stepped over to the bureau and pulled one out. "Try this." She said softly with a smile.

Tyr whipped around. Natalya was at the bedroom door holding a shirt. He took it examining it. Then a thought entered his head and he looked at her with an eyebrow raised. He asks playfully, "And how long were you standing there?"
He opened the shirt, button by button. This guy kept his dress shirts in a dresser, but hung his tank tops? That's gotta change. He put the white cotton dress shirt over the tank top and buttoned it back up, leaving the collar button open. He buttoned the cuffs and stuffed the tails of the shirt in his pants and tucked in the rest of his shirt. He found a belt; he didn't need it, but it looked nice. He put it on and did a few stretches to let the shirt untuck enough so he could retain full movement.
He looked at Natalya and spun around a few times, "What do you think?"

She laughed at his question. "Only long enough to know you were looking for the shirt. You did say you were decent." She said with a smile. He turned for her and she looked him over. "I like it. Personally I think its a little dressy but you look good." She said plucking at the collar with gentle fingers.

Tyr extended his neck so Natalya could fix his collar with ease. He looked down his nose and raised an eyebrow saying, "Sure... after I said I was decent, uh-huh." He smiled wryly and raised his eyebrow again. He grabbed her left wrist and lifted it to his mouth. He looked straight in her eyes as he kissed the back of her hand. He lowered her hand, taking hers in his and said quietly, "Thank you."

She laughed as he teased then her smile faded from teasing to tenderness as she looked into his eyes. "Any time." She said softly. She had felt a small shiver when he kissed her hand, it happened anytime he touched her.

Tyr saw past Natalya and saw the light leaving the sky. He smiled gently and said, "It's getting late." He had hoped she would take his comment as an invitation rather than a way out, as many might take it.

She cast her eyes down and smiled. "I'm in no hurry and I'm not breaking fathers rule. At least one of you knows where I am." She said stepping closer.

Tyr smiled, pulling her further in with his hand curling their hands together. He reached behind her head and leaned in to kiss her saying, "Good," before their lips met.

She gave that tremble again when their lips met and she wrapped her arms around his neck. She stood on her toes to deepen the kiss a bit more.

Tyr wrapped his arms around her waist and began to walk them towards the bed. He bent down, not breaking contact with her lips, grabbed the corner of the comforter, and threw it upward. A cloud of dust filled the room; the majority of it was propelled away from them, so it didn't affect them much. However little streaks of light could be seen coming from the window and extending to the wall on the opposite side. He broke the kiss for a moment and repeated to her what he confessed to her not five feet away a few hours ago, "I love you."

She smiled and felt her heart flutter once more. "I love you too, Tyr." She said brushing her lips gainst his as she pulled him down closer to her and melted away with him.

As she pulled him down, they both fell onto the bed. The dust from the pillows were thrust into the air, causing him to cough. After a few coughs, he started to laugh as he threw the dusty pillows on the floor. He smiled and looked deeply in her eyes, "You okay?" The beams of light became thinner and thinner, darkening the room.

She gave a couple coughs of her own now thinking maybe she should have aired the place out with a couple giggles. "I'm fine." She smiled, her wolf like eyes catching tye fading light well.

Tyr resumed kissing Natalya passionately. He grabbed her shoulders and rolled them to the center of the bed; he ended up underneath her. He reached his hand inside of her shirt just as the last of the light left the room. Leaving them both in complete and absolute darkness.

Natalya awoke the next morning curled up beside Tyr and she smiled. The light from the window signaled a new day. She was resting on his shoulder and his arm was around her. She kissed his shoulder lightly creating a small trail to his jawline. "Good morning." She said softly.

Tyr brushed Natalya's hair off of her shoulder as he laid on his side, looking into her eyes. He rubbed her arm softly and reached down to hold her hand. He smiled weakly, "Yeah, it's just... with the way things are, I don't know how long we have."

She smiled tenderly. "I know what you mean. But remember that no matter what happens, I love you." She said. She had always had dreams of love but she never thought it would happen since Zoram had stolen her away.

Tyr's smile brightened, "And I you. I just wish we did-"
Tyr's words were interrupted by a knocking on the door frame. He narrowed his eyes in thought and asked, "Who do you think that could be?"

"I don't know...." She said warily. She slipped out of the bed and put on a simple cotton dress and sauntered to answer the knocking. "Hello?" She asked when she opened it up.

Tyr dressed alongside Natalya and stood behind her when she answered the door. When she asked who was at the door and no one answered, Tyr put his hand on her shoulder, snuck past her and stuck his head outside looking for whoever knocked. He looked to the right and saw a pair of legs being dragged away from the house. He tilted his head and stepped out of the doorway. The moment Tyr crossed the doorway, a hand holding a brick came down hard on his head. He fell instantly, completely unconscious.

Natalya had turned and watched him peer out the door biting her lip nervously. "Tyr!" She called and quickly stepped to his side to check him. As she bent down to touch him she was quickly grabbed from behind around the waist. She struggled and thrashed around trying to get free but her injuries still prevented that. The man gave a gutteral laugh nd his breath was fowl to her sensitive nose. Another bear of a man came up the steps to the porch and picked up Tyr's body.
"Look 'ere at wha I found. A 'lil lap dog." The man laughed. His friend stepped closer and looked at her closely. She growled as he reached a hand to her face to turn it side to side.
"Well, well, well. You know who you found, Jaxek? You found boss mans girl. Natalie was it?"
She sit at him. "Natalya."

Another laugh could be heard behind Natalya's assailant, Jaxek. This laugh strangely sounded somewhat familiar, "Hahaha, ah yes Natalya." He snapped to the bear of a man and said, "You, pick up that bastard and take him to the others."
He walked around Jaxek and came into view of Natalya. His left arm was in a sling; it had recently been broken. His hand hanging out of the sling too was bandaged. His fingers were visible, but his palm was completely wrapped. He smiled as he looked at Natalya and said, "Nice to see you again."

Natalya glared at him. "Lewis." She said her voice dripping with acidic digust. She gave a deep gutteral growl as the wolf inside became a barring beast. Her gplden eyes retained the bright golden yellow of her wolf.

Lewis gave an evil laugh, "Haha, oh there's nothing you can do little girl. Jaxek was saved especially for you. No one can break his grip. Now I can finally repay you for breaking arm. I like this arm."

"It'll heal. It could have been severed." She snapped and bit down on Jaxek's arm that was over her shoulders.

Jaxek grinned at the pain and tightened his grip; chuckling as he goes.
Lewis give Jaxek a mock-concered look and says, "Come on now, remember, don't break her arms." He smiles mischieviously at Natalya. His face softens, "You know what? I want to show you something." He turns around and sees the other brute hadn't yet carried off the man that put a hole in his hand. His face sneared and he yelled at the man, "You, I told you to take him away!"

He tasted fowl and she yelped when he squeezed her. She was very wary when he said he wanted to show her something. When he sneered at Tyr, Natalya made a whining noise that mates made to eachother to see if they were okay. She hadn't meant to...it was reflex.

The man grumbled something under his breath and threw Tyr over his ahoulder like a sack. He heard Natalyas whine and looked to her before walking off with Tyr.

Lewis was in step behind Tyr's escort when he heard Natalya's whine. As a human, he had no idea what significance it held, so he called back as he walked, "Oh your body guard is fine, don't worry about that; but check THIS out."
Kaxek dragged Natalya around the corner of the house; and in the middle of the courtyard, was every member of the pack bound and gagged. They were all in human form and on their knees in a circle around the fountain. Adam was in the middle of circle beside Natalya's father, both in wolf form. They were both hog-tied with ropes tied around their muzzles tight.
Lewis extended his right arm towards the sight as though he were presenting a gift, "Ta-daa! Welcome home!"

The man with Tyr dropped him beside Adam abd her father. It had been a random spot as he didn't want to carry him amymore.
When Natalya looked around, tears welled in her eyes at the sight of her pack...her family. She whined sadly at the sight of them and reized.....this was all her fault....she caused this.

Behind each member of the pack stood a man dressed in fatigues, pointing a gun to the back of each member. Lewis raised his arm and each one ****s their gun. Lewis smiles a deep, evil grin, "So, which one will it be? We can't carry you all back." He looks at the group and says, "We have to lose some baggage," he turns back to Natalya, "wouldn't you agree? I mean there are so many of you." He walks directly beside her and grabs her chin forcefully, making her stare at her family. He plants his face right next to hers and asks, "So, who's first?" He pushes her face away as he backs away, letting her focus on her pack.

She growled and whimpered as he spoke. The prssure from his grip would likely bruise later. She looked at her loving pack, even the women and children were down and it brought her to tears. She looked around slowly and it was then she noticed the wolves in the center. Adams wolf and her Fathers larger wolf. No doubt they had tried to fight back. When the sound of the guns reached her sensitive ears she flinched and whined like a puppy who was scared."Look you were after me! My family does not need to be brought into this!" She tried.

Lewis laughed, "Haha, are you kidding me? Zoram will pay me quite handsomly for not only brining you back, but a whole pack? Not any pack either, quite possibly the biggest pack any have seen. Oh for this I could be made a Lord. He might even let me keep the pups for my self."
Tyr's body began to twitch. He was starting to come around. Adam saw his movements and gave a soft growl to get his attention. Unfortunately Tyr's head was still to fragmented to register any sounds.

She growled deeply at the mention of him having any pups for himself. Then it registered with her. "Why kill them if you want to turn them in? That bastard Zoram used us tp study. If we are the biggest pack and you kill us then the pck won't be huge anymore." She was trying to confuse him. Stall him until she had a better plan.

Lewis sneered, "Zoram doesn't know the size of this pack. You have enough freaks here that one or two dead won't make a difference. Besides, you're wolves; I'll just say they attacked us and you had to be put down. Now, since you seem to be more interested in testing me, let me show you your test results."
He raised his index finger, extended his thumb, lowered his arm to point at a male kneeling with his family and lowered his thumb. The guard put his sidearm to the top of his head and shot. The man fell down over children. They began screaming as they stared at their dead father, blood seeping from the whole in his head. His wife began crying, her screams were muffled by the gag.
Lewis blew imaginary smoke away from his finger and sneered at Natalya, "Ah, too bad. Looks like daddy won't be at junior's baseball games." He laughs maniacally as he walks back to her. He puts an arm on Jaxek's and looks Natalya in the eyes, "So," he raises his eyebrows in enjoyment, "who's next?"
Tyr's head began rolling about, coming closer to full awareness. Adam began growling again, hoping Tyr would hear.

"No!" She yelled as she seen him shoot. Her eyes wide with horror and tears of rage and sorrow welled up. She looked at Lewis with pity hatred and rage but also confusion and sorrow. She whimpered as she couldn't give anyone to him....
Axelo had growled qhen he aimed at the man and struggled against his bindings. The minute who walked around the group kicked him to quiet him down. He seen Tyr moving and heard Adam groqling to get his attention. Axelo gave a low grumbling geowl that vibrated the ground sending it to Adam. A hint on how to get Tyr. Adam was closer so he had to do it.

At Alexo's growl, Adam looked at him and gave the slightest of nods. Adam deepened his growl, keeping the volume low. It vibrated the ground slightly enough to reach Tyr.
Lewis grinned as he backed away, "Oh this is fun. So who now? Dax, how many do you think we're still over?" A voice came from the crowd of men, "At most two." Lewis tilted his head back and forth thinking the situation through. He pouted his lips and said, "You know what? Let's just take out one more and have the rest shove in. Why would we want them to be comfortable anyhow?"
Tyr felt the vibrations and recognized them immediately. He opened his eyes and saw Natalya bound by an ox of a man, crying. A familiar man with a sling galavanting around. His body still had to wake; his arms were sluggish, and his legs wouldn't bend. The most he could do was turn his head. He saw Adam and Alexo both bound like livestock Further passed them he saw a dead body surrounded by a screaming family. Tyr's breathing quickened as adrenaline began pumping through his veins.

"I won't choose! I won't name someone of my family and send them to their death..." She cried. How could this happen? She wonderd.

Lewis spun around at Natalya's words. He quirks his head and narrows his eyes with a smile as he thinks of a brilliant idea. "Oh yes. Yes you will. You will decide for us. You won't give a name perhaps, but you will be the decider. My friend Jaxek here is going to toss you to the ground;" he begins creeping closer to Natalya as he speaks, "and whoever you land by, or point to, or your body leans toward, ho-oh, that's who will die next." He slides the back of his finger down her face, along the path a tear has made, "So you see dear girl? You will be responsible for who dies, their blood will be on your hands"
Adam could hear the increase in Tyr's breath and saw the look in his eye. Even when they were yelling at each other, he hadn't seen the darkness he saw in Tyr just now. Some instinctual emotion overcame him and he whimpered from fear.
Tyr stared at the crying family. Flashes of his nightmare came back. The cries of the family were replaced by the screams of his wife and child. Suddenly he was back in that small town staring at a house in flames. Tyr was slamming himself against the door trying to get in to save his family. He backs up to gain momentum when he sees a small silhouette fall against a window and the cries of his child calling him fill his head.

Natalya jerked her face away from his touch. Jaxek had a feral grin on his face at the thought of throwing her. As Lewis finished and stepped away Jaxek swept her up and over his head easily. Natalya was now screaming to be put down over and over. With a last laugh, he threw her t the pack and she screamed.

The cries of his child is replaced by the screaming of Natalya being flung through the air as she returns him to reality. Tyr igores all else and jumps to his feet. He sees her falling and quickly runs to her and catches her in his arms. The momentum of her fall tries to push him down. but he instead transfers it by spinning with her in place. They slow to see a line of guards all with guns ****ed and ready to shoot. Tyr's breath is heavy and loud, but he shows no signs of pain or fatigue from being knocked unconscious. The only thing visible in his eyes is determination and absolute hate.

When Tyr caught her she wrapped her arms around his neck tightly from fear. Then she was crying against his shoulder holding him tightly. "No,no,no,no,no..." She would say over and over because he caught her, he would be chosen to die.

Before any of the guards shot, Lewis cried out, "HOLD YOUR FIRE!" The guards all hesitated and looked to their commander. He gave a sigh of relief and continued, "Are you insane? The girl is the whole reason we're out here! Hold your fire dammit!" He snapped his fingers saying, "Jaxek, retrieve the girl."
Jaxek started to lumber over to the couple.
Tyr took Natalya's head in his hand and looked into her eyes, "Stop that, you have to be strong now. For our family. As long as I'm with you, they can't shoot me, so let's take this beast down together. Go for the neck, you go left, I'll go right." He then gave her a hard passionate kiss.

She nodded and pressed her lips against his hard. She waited for Jaxek to get close enough and on Tyrs signal and on instinct she shifted in mid-jump at him.
Jaxek seen the attack but his reflexes were too slow and her fangs ripped into the side of his neck deeply.

Tyr broke the kiss off and nodded signalling the attack. They both jumped for Jaxek. Tyr shifted mid-air and twisted his head so that his top fangs would grab skin first. Natalya ripped into Jaxek's right side, and Tyr ripped into Jaxek's left. His fangs first pierced just above his clavicle, the momentum of Tyr's body forced the teeth to drag backward along his neck line. The pull of Jaxek's tough skin twisted Tyr's body around and he planted his four legs on Jaxek's back and pulled back with all his might to continue tearing out Jaxek's throat. When he had finally cleared Jaxek's throat, Tyr jumped up off of the brute doing a back flip and landed just behind Jaxek.

Natalya had ripped deeply but Jaxeks arm had caught her in the side knocking her in her side so when he fell she landed on her aide beeside him. She rolled over and stood, walking to stand next to Tyr. She looked up and towards Lewis and growled but stayed by Tyrs side.

Tyr watched as Jaxek fell to the ground and Natalya recovered from her fall. They both confronted Lewis, teeth bared.
Lewis watched the scene in horror. He couldn't give the order to shoot, the girl could be hit. Even when the male was temporarily separated from her, he was behind Jaxek. Oh this wasn't going well at all. Now they both stood side by side again staring at him. They were a good distance away, so if they attacked, he could still draw on them. Lewis straightened his stance and said, "Well done, so what do you plan to acclomplish here? We still have everyone of your family tied and at our mercy. If you kill me, there's nothing stopping them from killing you and them."

Natalya's head jerked up from her position and her ears laid back as she seen her family surrounded and defenseless. She gave a whimper as ahe tried to decide what to do and how to help.

While all the guards were fixed on the two free wolves, their focus on Adam was gone. He took that moment to subtly rub his muzzle against a rock and lossened it. By pressing the rope against the rock, he was able to get it into his mouth so he could chew at it. When the big guy, Jaxek, hit the ground, Adam snapped at the now thin rope and broke it. He looked around to make sure no one was paying attention to him, and started to chew on the ropes binding his legs.

Natalya noticed Adam but showed no indication she had seen anything. She didn't know wht he had planned but he couldn't get caught. She whined again to keep the guards on her.

Tyr grunted to Natalya to follow his lead. He started to circle Lewis, hoping to get him between them and the guards.
Lewis withdrew his personal sidearm and leveled it at the free male as he started to circle him. He spoke out with a quiver in his voice, "Stay back, remember, I'm the only reason your friends are alive." He held his ground to show strength; but he started to sweat, afraid the wolf may call his bluff.
Adam got through a single band that wrapped his legs, but unfortunately that only freed his front legs. His back legs were held together independently. At that realization, he gave a sigh. In order to free his back legs, he'd have to change; but if he did that, the guards would surely notice him. He remembered Tyr changing only parts of himself when they had first met, perhaps he could try that. It would be difficult, as he's never done it before, but he had to try. If he could change just his hands, then he could untie himself without alerting the guards.

Natalya made sure to be by Tyr as her presence kept him living. She trusted their judgement and went with it. She raised her hackles and barred her teeth as she circled around with him. She made a growling bark and it made him jump the slightest bit, proving he was bluffing that much more.

Lewis cursed at himself for flinching. He continued to watch the male as he was the one in charge.
Adam shut his eyes tight and concentrated on his hands, only his hands, nothing but his hands. Suddenly he felt his fur recede and he opened his eyes. His front paws became humanesque hands. They were still grey, but his fingers were functional, and that's what mattered. He began working on the rope on his hind legs. Luckily the guard that tied him didn't plan on him ever growing hands. The rope was untied in moments. He looked around to check if he had been spotted; but the situation was so tense not a single guard dared look away from their commander. Adam shifted his hands back to paws and drew his legs in under his body so he could pounce the nearest guard.
Tyr smiled inside at Lewis's jolt and his love for natalya grew at her mental jab at their "captor". He was glad to see her more aggressive side. With a glance at the pack, he noticed that Adam was no longer on his side, but crouched and ready to pounce. He must've released his bonds somehow. Tyr wondered why he hadn't freed Alexo yet, but that question would have to wait. If Adam struck, it would be the perfect distraction so he could humilliate Lewis and help free the others. Now that Lewis was directly between the guards and them, Tyr crouched down; readying his own attack.

Alexo seen Adam break his bonds. He wasn't sure what Adam planned but he wished him luck and followed in suit. The one who had tied him up hd bound both his forelwgs and hind legs were bound together with the same rope. He had worked hus muzzle free and now tried chewing his rope and letting it fall to the ground. His guard screwed up by keeping close. His foot was onches from Alexo's mouth. One bite and he would be decomissioned. He waited until everything began to unravel.
Natalya stayed by Tyr's side but she was angered now to the point, she was currently more wolf than human. More hunter now.

Adam aimed at a guard in the center of the semi-circle surrounding them. He lunged and caught him by surprise. He tore out his throat before he had time to scream. Guards on each side paniced and started shooting at where Adam once was, accidently shooting their own.
Lewis turned at the sound of shooting and began yelling, "CEASE FIRE! You're shooting yourselves dumb-asses!"
When Lewis turned around, Tyr barked aloud and ran after him. Lewis turned back and ducked in fear. Tyr landed on Lewis's back and launched off toward the crowd. He trampled one guard shooting after Adam.

Alexo gave a feral growl and ripped into the guards ankle easily. As the guard yelled two began firing and Alexo pulled the gurd in to block the shots. With that he began pouncing on other guards nd ripping the bonds from his people.
Natalya jumped t the guatd next to Lewis, ripping at his throat. Her teeth caught his tags around his neck and when she threw them, they redirected a shot by the slightest inch saving her shoulder. She pounced onto Lewis next, and they fired at her, but to her dissapointment they missed him as she dodged away. Now it was a frenzy as many wilves shifted to join the fight....it was the beginning of a war.

The pandemonium of wolves jumping onto guards and sprinting away, dodging shots and tearing out their comrades' throats, it turned ugly very fast. Tyr and Adam focused on the guards, while Alexo freed others to either help in the fight, or help the children escape. Tyr found a cub clamped on a guard's kicking foot. He trampled the guard, grabbed the cub by its neck and tossed it on the sideline. He shook his head at the small one and tore the guard's jugular vein from his neck. He bound off the guard before someone shot in his direction, tearing up the fresh corpse.
Lewis stood up after Tyr had launched off of him wondering why he didn't kill him. Then he remembered Natalya, he turned to see what she was doing and saw her form mid-air coming towards him. He pointed his gun at her, but the voice of Zoram filled his head, "Remember, the girl is not to be harmed." Lewis skewed his face as he watched Natalya land on his chest forcing him to the ground. The force of the fall shot all of the air in his lungs out. He laid there fear flooding his eyes as he stared at Natalya.

Natalya was deffinitly more wolf than human right now as she growled into Lewis' face. She snarled and barked. Somewhere she heard her father bark at her but she didn't respond. Alexo turned and barked at Tyr to get him to help Natalya, something was wrong. She raised back her head to bite down on him when a fore was shot, very loudly to where the guards and some of the wplves stood still looking towards the noise. One of the Rookie guards had fired a shot into Natalya's left flank knocking her back auple feet to the ground with a yelp and a whine.

Tyr howled at the sight of Natalya being shot. He pounced from the guard lying on the ground to the fool who shot his love, and chewed up his hand. The fighting resumed, wolves running around, and guards firing where the wolves once stood. Only a few men stodd standing, now huddled together, covering each others' backs. They took down a couple of wolves with their new found system, but the sheer numbers overwhelmed them as five wolves jumped at once at a single target. The guard paniced and fell backward, opening a spot where the five where able to subdue them.
Lewis laughed as Natalya was sent reeling from standing over him. He moved his elbows under his shoulders, propping himself up. Then a wolf landed on his chest once again, flattening him to the ground. Lewis yelped and flinched; fortunately the wolf was more interested in Natalya than him and jumped back off. He took the opportunity to scramble to his feet and run towards the truck awaiting him and what was supposed to be captured wolf demons.
Tyr lept from Lewis's cowering body and landed next to Natalya. He nuzzled against her nose, trying to get some sort of reaction from her.
Adam cut Lewis off as he tried to escape, followed by the remaining wolves of the pack. He snapped at the air showing his anger and desire to eat the man. Lewis held his hands up and began backing away from the wolves, "Okay, you win. You can stay in your treehouses."
Adam shifted to human and spoke clearly, "Oh no. You come in the middle of the night and hold us hostage. Then you murder one of us just because you felt it was fun; and you expect to just go?"

Alexo walked up beside Adam snarling. He was large for a wplf and now he was twice as angry for his daughter had been shot. He stood next to Adam as they began on Lewis.
Natalya gave a whimper of pain as he nuzzled her. As she lay there she became more of herself than wolf once more. She looked up at Tyr amd tried to stand nd then yelped. Her hind left flank was throbbing with pain and she whimpered.

Lewis looked at his watch nervously, Where the hell is that driver? He gave the wolves a small pathetic smile, "Well, you did kill every man I have, so that kind of makes us even, wouldn't you say?" Adam said nothing, he just shook his head slowly as he and the other males inched towards him slowly, following his lead. Lewis gave a final "Heh" and turned and ran. Adam shifted back and he with the wolves all ran after him.
Far off sounds of a diesel engine became closer and closer as the wolves got nearer to Lewis. Suddenly a large transport truck breaks into a clearing and drives alongside Lewis and the wolves chasing him. Lewis motioned to the driver to get closer to him. Adam was gaining closer and closer to Lewis as the truck pulled up beside them. Lewis reached out with his good hand, grabbed the driver's door handle, and jumped on the truck. Adam snapped at his heels as Lewis just jumped out of reach. The truck then sped off into the distance leaving only the sound of an engine mixed with Lewis's laugh echoing within the trees.
Tyr shifted to human and sat beside Natalya. He put pressure on her flank and said with a weak smile, "I told you to go easy, didn't I? C'mon, let's get you somewhere safe." He lifted her body and began walking toward the cave with her in his arms.

Alexo rounded the wolves back up after Lewis dispersed and went to aid the one family before checling on his daughter.
Natal whined nd whimpered when he moved her. She couldn't shift as the bullet was still lodged and would have been twice as painful. She kept her eyes closed against the pain.

Tyr was walking as fast as he could. He didn't want Natalya to bleed out. Unfortunately the cave was further away than he'd like.
Adam snorted loudly in frustration he followed the rest of the pack back to help the wounded and tend to clearing the dead.

She tried to keep quiet as he walked back to the caves. Whining wasn't helping the pain. She took short breahs through her nose. Alexo trotted up beside Tyr and shifted as he walked not even breaking stride. "How is she holding?"He asked as she rubbed her head for comfort.

Tyr replied, "I don't know. I can feel her breathing, but she quit whining. That could be good, it could be bad. She could have stopped because she sees no point in fighting anymore, or she reasoned with herself that whining doesn't help the healing. We can't know, and I'd rather she concentrate on staying alive than ask her to divulge her intentions. I haven't a chance to examine the wound yet, so I can't say for her condition. I take it you have some sort of medical provisions in the cave? You must have something to treat the occasional injury from falling rocks or tripping on rocks. Anything that can treat a wound."

He nodded but solemly. "We do not have much. We don't use modern medicine too much. We have healers as well here who can assist you." Alexo said as he led him back to the caves and to a large hut that was one room only inside the frame and a fire pit in the center with no roof over the pit. He gave a call and three elderly men walked in and circled around the fire pit. "They will assist you in anything you need.

Tyr's face donned a skeptical expression. The sight of the three elderly men was rather pathetic. It reminded him of the three witches from Shakespeare's play. However seeing how the occupants of this pack had survived as long as they have, the advanced age of these "healers", and the fact that they didn't have any real first aid materials caused him to drop his disbelief and approached the three men.

One stepped forward as Alexo moved to the side. He gave a biw to him showing Tyr's dominance over the elder. "I am Anroth. These are my brothers Cirax and Theon. We must hurry she may not have much time left. First we must remove the bullet and get her to shift to her human state." He said leading him towards the newly started fire.

Tyr resisted the man's promptings and didn't budge from his spot. He just stared at the man and replied, "I mean you no offense, and with the greatest respects ask that you do what you can for her." He offered her body to Alexo assuming the old man wouldn't be able to carry her, "I love her, but I can't take part in this. I trust they will heal her and that she is safe here; but I just can't. I'm sorry."

The elderly man merely nodded and Alexo laid Natalya close to the fire's warmth. He stood to the side beside Tyr and asked without looking at Tyr, "And what stops you from helping her when ever fiber in you wishes to?" It was not accusatory merely conversational to ease tension. The men began three different chants at once as Anroth removed the bullet....with an athame. He did not harm her no did he cut her. Once the bullet was finally out which rook a bit of work, Anroth tried to coax her to shift to her human state.

Tyr watched on, his whole body screaming "Stop! Get away from her", but he stayed where he was. He was about to answer Alexo when Anroth revealed the ceremonial dagger. Tyr did an about face and stood with his back to the ritual. His eyes burning with ultimatums and fear. His eyes twitched as he could only slightly tilt his head toward Alexo, signifying that he intended to reply, "You don't have what I need." He closed his eyes for a moment and stopped his next words. He collected himself and continued, "I see how well your family has done so far and can only... hope that you can save her." Tyr's utterance of the word, "hope" was filled with pain and restrained fury. He chances a glance to alexo at his last two words.

Alexo nodded his understandings. "My son," he started placing a hand to Tyr's shoulder. "We chose to keep close to the old ways incase we are forced away from any human contact at all. But I have felt that we should learn modern medicine. I am not nor will I ever doubt out trials. But we never know.... But if there is something I do know, always be there for the one you love, no matter how much it hurts."
Natalya whimpered and shuffled a little. Cirax spoke up then. "Please young one you must." She mde another noise and he answered her as if she had asked a qyestion. "Yes it will. I will not lie to you." She whined and then began her shift back. When the full change staryed in she let go of an awful howl that was answered by mournful howls outside the hut. As she shifted her howl faded into her human voice still giving the agonizing cries.

As Alexo speaks, Tyr's face changes, he stares down at nothing, grief-stricken. At Natalya's howl and transitioned cry, he shuts his eyes tightly. His body begins to rock as his head shakes, tears begin to fall from his eyes. He breathes heavily from his nostrils. His eyes snap open directly into Alexo's. Nothing but pure rage exists, the rage is not aimed at Alexo, but his eyes stare hard into his. "I lost my family to this once, I vowed to never allow it to happen again. Do not mistake my removal of my presence as a weakness. It is the greatest strength I know to allow this to continue at all." Tyr almost spits as he says "this". Without waiting for a response, he closes his eyes once more and wills himself to leave the hut.

Finally her cries and screams died down to pants for breath and little whimpers of pain. A couple of hours had gone by. Every once in a while Natalya woyld scream once more and then it was silent. Alexo had left the hut an hour after Tyr. Finally the three elderly men came out. Anroth stayed at the door. Each one looked tired. Anroth looked to Tyr and motioned him inside. When he went in he gestured to Nayalyas form. She lay still but panting for breath in little shots. A blanket covered her body. "We have done all we can. She is weak and tired,it was no ordinary bullet. She has tried hard to stay with us....but I fear she may be slipping away to the Gods....this is where you come in my boy. No one else can do this for her." He said and left closung the door behind him.

Tyr said nothing to Alexo as he exited the hut. He only stood aside the hut, praying to whoever may listen. When the three men exited, he turned to the entrance and followed the old man to Natalya. Tyr dared not look at her body. He would have just judged the elders' work instead of concentrating on Natalya. He held her hand and said nothing to Anroth as he left. When the door had closed, he burst into tears. "Oh Natalya don't you dare die on me. Not now. You can't die now. Don't give up on life. Don't give up on us. Don't give up on me. Please. Natalya."

In her dark haze she thought she heard an angel call to her. Whenshe realized it was Tyr it was even better. She squinted her eyws tightly in attempt to snap out of things. Her head moved tp the side, facing him as she tried to fight trough.

When Natalya's head fell to look at him, he stopped his crying and smiled brightly, "Hey... there you are. How ya doin' baby?"

She reached a hand out to him, and she noticed his tears. "It was so dark and cold....then....I heard you." she said in a weakened voice. Her movements were slow. She reached up to wipe a tear from his face, her eyes tender as they slowly brightened in their color.

Tyr's eyes brightened as she wiped a tear from his cheek. He took hold of her hand and kissed it gently. He kissed it again and whispered, "You rest now, okay? You have to get better. I love you, Natalya."

She gave a soft smile. "I love you, too, Tyr. Always." she whispered the last and slipped into sleep, her breathing now regular and her pale features reaching their regular pale coloring.

As Natalya drifted to sleep, Tyr had a moment of panic. He held her face and placed his ear to her mouth. He felt her breath and relaxed. He could feel heat returning to her cheeks as they began to recolor. He straightened up and placed a hand on her chest, just over her heart and felt the steady beat. He smiled appreciatively and sat down beside the hearth and too drifted to sleep.

Natalya curled into her usual ball when she slept another sign she was getting better. She slept for a few hours then stirred.

Adam returned from organizing the dead, separating enemy from foe and so on. He tracked down Alexo and asked, "How is she?"
-
"She is resting now. The elder healers did what they could and said she was healed but slipping away. Now she is sleeping. Tyr is with her. If you are quiet you can see her." He said with a hand to his shoulder before going to check on his people.

Adam's melancholic behavior kicked back in. He looked down in sadness, "No, I wouldn't want to... interrupt them. If he's with her, I'm fine. I'm just glad she's okay." Anyone could tell that he didn't truly feel the words he spoke. He gave a sigh, looked up at Alexo, and changed the subject, "The dead have been identified and divided. What shall we do with them?"

He stopped and thought a moment then gave a sigh. "Give them proper burials. Don't need the whole deal but at least bury them." He was strong and fierce and never questioned but it was his kind heart that made him Alpha.
Natalya stirred and looked round in a small daze. She sat up slowly, keeping the blanket over her. She looked over and seen Tyr. She smiled and crept slowly to him and gave him a gentle kiss. "Morning."

Tyr woke with a small start. He was breathing heavily and looked around with his eyes half open. He saw Natalya and smiled sleepily, "Hey, morning." His eyes gained a concerned look about them, "How do you feel?"

"I'm stiff and sore but other wise okay. Scarred up to." She said sadly. "They heal us but they aren't miracle workers."

All emotion drains from Tyr's face as he says, "I know." He stares like that past Natalya for a few seconds before his face brightens again and he looks straight in her eyes, "But you're fine now... sort of. That's what matters."

She put a hand to his cheek. "Yes I'm better now. What about you? Are you okay?" She asked worrying about others as ahe always did.

Tyr kept his brightened expression and responded, "Yeah, yeah I'm fine. As long as you're okay, I'm fine." He gave a confrontational look and said, "Hey, I told you to take it easy with your wounds. What did you think you were doing out there?"

She looked down to the ground with a silent whine. "I couldn't control it. All I could think was I couldn't let him get away. Couldn't let him hurt them...." She bit her lower lip as she remembered.

Tyr smiled and reached up with his hand to stroke her cheek with the back of his finger. He trailed where a tear would run from her eye to her chin. He gives a small laugh and says, "I'm just givin' you a hard time. Come here." He held out his hand to her, hoping she'd take it.

She looked to him and gave a soft smile. She took his hand and snuggled close to him.

Tyr wrapped an arm around Natalya and gave her a long, sustained hug. He leaned his head onto hers and closed his eye; enjoying her presence for as long as he could.

She snuggled close wrapping her arms around his waist and laying her head on his chest. She listened to the peaceful sound of his heartbeat, living in the moment.

Tyr smiled a moment, but frowned once more at a dark realization. He looked to Natalya and said, "We can't run forever you know. Not as long as they now know how to get here."

A soft whimper escaped her. " I know. We have to face (I him) sooner or later."

Tyr gave her a slightly tighter hug and asked, "What will Alexo do? He's survived this long by hiding. Do you think he'll try to run again?"

"He will do what he thinks is best for his people.....just as ill do when the pack is left to me." She said. The last was said qith sadness in her voice.

Tyr thought for a moment, considering his options. He leaned his head against hers and said, "Well whatever he chooses, I won't leave your side."

She kissed his chest. "I love you,Tyr." She smiled.
Alexo had taken a few wolves and had ran around the packs homelands. As they came back Alexo had motioned that he would be going to talk to other pack leaders and took off faster than a normal wolf. A couple hours passed and he came back and howled to gather the pack together. Everyone gathered in tje center of the openings infront of the cave, even those from the village came. He shifted to his human form and stood before his people.
Natalya heard her fathers howl. "We need to go. Fathers calling." She said leading their way to her father. She moved adam to stand to Alexos left and she and Tyr were on his right showing place in the pack. "Father why have you called the pack together? What is wrong?" She asked him.

Tyr followed as he was led by Natalya. When she moved Adam to her father's left and stood them by his right, Tyr had a strange look upon his face. He looked to Adam with a What was that? look. After Natalya asked her father the reason of their assembly, Tyr regained his pure curious expression and put his attention to Alexo once more.
Adam was standing proudly by Alexo's right side. He figured it didn't really mean anything, but it felt nice. When Natalya removed him to Alexo's left, he became confused. He saw Tyr and her now standing at Alexo's right. He gained a look of But why? Tyr must've felt the same because he had his own confused look. Apparently where one stood by the Alpha did matter. He was slightly depressed by the fact that Tyr had so easily replaced him in Natalya's life; but that issue had already been resolved. He shook his head, clearing all self-pity from his thoughts, and paid attention to his Alpha.

The other Pack leaders have discussed the issue of the attack that has happened here tonight. Your brethren packs have agreed to help us with the battle that is to come." He stated letting his rumbling voice carry over his children. "As all of you know, excluding my sons and daughter here, we have been dicussing for months when the Time of Hiding would be over. Each Pack has voted but ours. And the others have voted that we should no longer live in the shadows of humans. I know this is dangerous and may hurt more than help, but you know that I wouldn't do something I thought would hurt you, my family. Now is your time to voice what you wish. Do we stay in thw shadows or do we let free our ways?" He asked his pack.
Natalya was shocked and looked to Tyr and Adam. She would love not having to hide anymore. But was it safe? She didn't question her fathers judgment as he was very wise. She waited for the packs vote.

Tyr wasn't entire surprised by Alexo's announcement, but he was shocked that he was actually giving his pack the power to decide. No one had spoken for quite some time. Apparently they were shocked by this surrender of power as he was. Suddenly a voice came from the back of the crowd. It was a sobbing, light voice; it wasn't very audible, so it forced everyone to turn around to look at its source. It was a woman lying beside a mound of dirt. It was the wife of the man Lewis executed. She looked up to Alexo and repeated herself, wiping the tears from her eyes as she spoke, "Let's go kill the bastard that killed my husband."
Tyr squeezed Natalya's hand. He was nervous. He knew they would be going after Zoram eventually; but he had no idea that 'eventually' was now. Natalya was just newly 'healed' and the people of the pack were still grieving. This wasn't a good combination; but it may be the only combo that would spark their willingness to go head first into Hell.

Natalya looked at the woman with sad eyes and placed her free hand on Tyrs that had squeezed her hand.
Alexo nodded. "All who oppose?" The pack was as silent as the grave. "All for?" An eruption of howls of agreement. "Very well. Adam, Tyr, Natalya?"
Natalya looked to Tyr and Adam first.

Adam lowered his head, both in a sign of respect, but also 'cause he wanted to shy away from any orders that would mean taking responsibility for the lives of the pack.
Tyr looked back at Natalya and shrugged, "It's your pack, your family. I'm just a soldier now. This is your war, and you're the General here."

"That's what I'm afraid of..." She said. She took a deep breath and thought it through. The more she thought about what she webt through with Zoram the more hwr inner wolf became angry. She turned to look at everyone, meeting every pair of eyes. "For three years I was a slave tortured and beaten and hiding. I'm tired of hiding. Its now or never!"

Tyr sat aside, while Natalya spoke to her family. He smiled at her passion, but still feared for her life. The last few encounters she had weren't the most favorable for her. To his recollection she had been in three gunfights, and only came out of one unharmed; and that was because she hid. Twice bullets flew, and twice she was hit. Tyr subconsciously let his expression falter; but he caught it and regained his "inspired" gaze as she finished her speech.

"No more will we run with our tails between our legs. We can be peaceful creatures, as we have been for many centuries. Its time to show the world who we really are. We can take Zoram and finally show we aren't whimpering cowards and we can show the humans what and who they live with." She said earning cheers and howls from them. Alexo placed a hand to her shoulder and then hugged her. He let out his rumbling howl and everyone followed in suit.

Tyr couldn't help himself but join in the pack's howl. He smiled at Natalya after she broke from her father's embrace. He glanced out over the crowd of expecting faces and asked her, "So, what now?"

"Pack up. Were gunna make a house call." She smiled.
Alexo gave orders to scouts to gather up the other packs. She took both Adam and Tyr to a small section in the cave where a large burly man was pounding in a heated enviornment. He looked up and smiled. "Little cub."
"Uncle Marthix. I need two sets of our armor stat." She said pushing the two forward. "My brother Adam and my mate Tyr. Guys this is my fathers younger brother Marthix." She said. "I'll leave you to it." She said kissong them all on the cheek and dashing away to put her own armor on.

Adam looked up to the large beast. How the soldiers missed him, was a wonder. Although his little section here was rather well concealed. He felt himself shrink before Marthix as he approached him cautiously. He held out his hand and braced himself for what was no doubt going to be a painful handshake.
Tyr looked on as Adam quaked under Marthix's presence. He gave a slight chuckle and waited for his turn to greet Marthix.

Marthix gave a smile and took Adams hand. It was rough and callused but his grip was gentle. Then he turned to Tyr with the same. "Let's get you guys battle ready." He saud and explained how the armor shifted with them from either form.

Tyr met Marthix with the same firm, but gentle, handshake. He looked straight in his eyes as he introduced himself. Marthix explained the suits of armor and took measurements of both Adam and Tyr in both their forms. He said it would take the rest of the night to fashion them; and wished them luck in the on-coming conflict.
Tyr went from the cave looking for Natalya.

Natalya was just stepping out of the armory in her armor. Plates along her arms and legs. Some along with chainmail nade the skirt. Nothing covered her stomach so she was able to shift and the breast plate covered to her colar bone and her hair hung free. She was barefoot and had a dagger in a loop around her thigh. She spoke with someone and they ran off to prepare.

Tyr saw Natalya exit another hidden part of the cave. How many hiding hovels are in this place? The thought amazes him for too long of a moment as he now sees Natalya had run off. He ran after her, hoping to find out if they had yet a plan of action.

She was speaking to one of the elder healers, determination in her eyes. ".....so it will work to our advantage?"
"Yes. Ill cast it and not a scent will be caught. No Elder has been caught so Zoram can't know this magick." She nodded.
"Its also the new moon tonight. We should be able to sneak in no matter our numbers."

Tyr caught up to Natalya and caught the ending sentence of her conversation. He didn't look to the elder, he just spoke to Natalya, "Marthix said that the armor would take all night to prepare. What can I do until then? Where are we entering? Do we have a strategy yet?"

"Knowing Marthix it'll be done before the complete rise of the moon." She said rolling her eyes. "We have tricks and elders on our side. And the new moon will hide us. It'll be as if we didbt exist. And we are goibg through the front." She said, determination litkying her eyes.

"Well," Tyr slightly rolls his eyes, "they definitely won't think of protecting the front." His sarcastic tone is light-hearted, no malice or ill-intent is present. He gives her a mildly pleading look as he says, "Wouldn't it be easier to divide our forces and create a diversion, or just divide our forces and attack different sites at once? I mean if we all huddle together and give them all one big target, their defences can come together and shake us off; but if we attack on multiple sides, then their defences will be too confused as to which side to protect first."

"Yes but think about it. Hell be expecting that. Its the more plausible way if attacking. Any smart person would do the same. And we are not all going in at the same time. Half will be inside nd the other half will be out here. The Elders are staying on the outside to cloak us and if he truly is using any wolves then they won't see us coming either....." Then a worried look crossed her face.

Tyr didn't quite understand her logic, but her family has survived a long time. He decided to just be a good soldier and follow direction. When her face changed, he asked, "What is it? What's wrong?"

"Those wolves that work for him.....they are too afraid to disobey him which means....they may die in the battle....it isn't fair." She said looking to the ground.

Tyr nodded, understanding her view. He asked, "And what would you have done? If he leashed you and forced you to fight your own kind? Would you lay down in protest, or fight to survive?"

"I know...." She said sadly. He kicked a pebble a little out of frustration.

Tyr asked, "Perhaps there's some way we could just make sure noone actually kills any other wolves. Maybe tell them all to just maim, or injure them. You know, use the kid gloves on the wolves, but don't spare the humans."

She bit her lower lip as she was known to do. "Maybe...." She said in a tone with less hope than shouldve been there.

Tyr held Natalya's shoulders and looked into her downcast eyes, "C'mon, you knew this day would come. I'm sure you thought of this moment many times while in Zoram's dungeon. It's up to you now. This is your show. No second guessing, just get out there and lead your troops."

At the mention of Zoram's name, a spark of anger lit up her eyes. She gave a nod as she knew he was right.

"Come on let's help the others. Your armor will be ready soon enough." She said. She spent the next couple of hours giving orders and what they had, needed, and so on. No one questioned her they went with her full heartedly. Just like her father was treated. They respected her. Finally she got a summons saying Marthix needed her.

Tyr followed Natalya everywhere she went, absorbed all that he could from her briefings. When the call from Marthix came, he perked up slightly, hoping his armor was finished.

She returned to Marthix's hideaway work shop. He had his back turned as he began to speak. "Both sets are done, they just need the blood of their leader." When he turned to her she had the look of determination in her eyes, but it was the armor she wore that made him stop. "That isn't your armor....I thought it was gone."
"I did too. I found it and hid it away."
"Your mother's armor..." He trailed and then shook his head. He pulled out an athame and handed the hilt to her. She stepped forward to both sets that hung on the wall. She said a little chant she had heard her father do and sliced her palm. With the blood she drew the Wolven symbols of her clan on the armor and the blood turned to silver markings that matched the others.

Tyr overheard the fact that the armor was, in fact, her mothers. His eyes widened slightly at that. He stood his ground as she took the dagger and cut herself. He didn't like some of their customs, but again, they've helped them survive this long. He watched in amazement, though his face wouldn't show it, as the blood on the armor became as part of the metal. He nodded to no one as he stepped forward and took Natalya's hand. He looked her in her eyes and lifted her hand and licked her bleeding palm, cleaning the wound. Showing compassion and care, he slowly closed her fingers over the wound and smiled slightly.
He let her hand where it was as he turned around and looked at his suit of armor. A marvel, this time he couldn't hold his amazement, "Marthix, this is... impressive, to say the least." He smiled brightly to the large, gentle, beast whose goliath hands made such delicate, yet strong works of art.
He looked over the markings and tilted his head back to Natalya and asked, "What do these characters mean?"

Natalya turned to him and watched surprised as he licked her wound, she blushed slightly and smiled. As he admired his armor, she wrapped her hand in a torn piece of cloth. She stood beside him as he complimented Marthix on his work. She expected nothing less from Marthix. He was the best. When Tyr turned to her, he asked what the symbols meant, she smiled softly. "Each symbol stands for what we believe in. Pack and family. Loyalty. Honor. Humility. Trust. Strength. Wisdom. Health. Safety. Valor. Truth." she ponited out each one as she named them off.
