Chapter One
Jax (Dylan)
My name is Dylan, but you might know me better as Jax. Until recently I was just a college kid who wanted to write books and make movies. Of course that all changed when I learned about the Yeerks. I know what you're thinking, 'Yeerks aren't real'. Yeah, that's what I thought. Turns out K.A. was trying to warn us, warn us that they were coming.
That's where RAF comes in. RAF: Richard's Animorph forum, a place for fans of Animorphs started around the time the series ended. That's where it started, when some of us got together in New York.
"It's so cool that you were able to put this together Jayne!" I said.
"I've been waiting for this for a long time." Jayne replied.
We were standing at Grand Central in New York waiting for Claire, Estelore, and Tyler. They were the last three RAFians who Jayne had been able to get here thanks to the fact that she had won one of the biggest jackpots in Florida lotto history. So far we had Russel (Esplin), Anna, Kenny, Daniel (Shanker), and Duff who, like Estelore, insisted on going by his screen name. I was beyond excited, I was finally meeting Claire and Estelore! Oh, and Tyler might be cool too.
"You look just like the picture!" A distinctly Australian accent said. I turned around to see Claire standing there.
"Oh my god! You're really here, and not in a Heroes fic." We both laughed at just how cheesy that sounded. I saw Tyler and some other girl who I assumed was Estelore talking to Jayne.
"So, you just all of a sudden won? On computer picked numbers?" Tyler asked.
"Yeah, I did." Jayne said. If I didn't know better I'd almost think that Jayne was being defensive. Claire and I walked over to them.
"Hey Tyler, and I assume this is the Estelore?" She fit her description perfectly, except there was something about her eyes that I couldn't quite place.
"That would be correct." She said. I realized I was staring at her. I blinked and looked away, filing it under 'things to worry about later'.
"So, what's first? The Museum of Natural History? The Empire State Building?" Claire asked. Jayne smiled.
"We are going to have a picnic Central Park."

After a few hours, everyone was sitting in the park around a fairly large sampling of New York take-out. I couldn't believe that they were actually here. As much as I wanted to meet Richard, Phoenix, and everyone else who wasn't there, I couldn't help but be excited. At least Claire and Estelore were there, I'd always wanted to meet them in real-life.
"Well, well, well. Would you look at that! The Rafians are loose." Everyone looked up to see who it was.
"Terry?" Claire said. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Tyler tense up.
"In the flesh." He looked at Jayne. "Can I have the honor?" Claire, Russel, Daniel, and I looked confused.
"I think maybe this will be a bit more effective." She tapped her ear. "Execute order 13." Suddenly something appeared in the sky.
"Impressive, isn't it? That we can get in so close without you noticing. If anyone should have been able to figure it out, it would be you."
"Are you saying-"
"I am Teslar six-nine-zero-seven, my rank is Visser two." Jayne said, interrupting me. "And it's time to get rid of you once and for all!"
"Now Este!" Tyler yelled.

Are you gonna do the chapters from the other characters' perspectives as well? I'm only askinc cause i noticed your name above the chapter.

Blame spellcheck, it also likes to turn 'Omen' into 'Dawn'. I'll fix it.

Seriously though, nice work so far. I admit this is the kind of story I've always wanted to see done by a good writer (saw it done by a bad one once and it sucked!)
I like the title by the way, "Rise of the Yeerks" makes it sound so cool...

Ahem.
Thanks for including me! I LOVE how well you've adopted my mode of speech and my mannerisms; even in such a short scene, I can see that you'll 'write me' well. :) ;)
Edit: Oh, yeah...if you need ANY information on NYCity, let me know. I've been there, and I know virtually all of it inside-and-out. I can describe most, if not all of it, in detail.

Also, if you don't mind, I'm going to write a sort of prequel to this piece, involving my first meeting with other RAFians, in person.
Of course, I'm going to write it either way, but I prefer that you don't mind. ;)

It's been a tough couple days for me, certain things started yesturday and I'm going to need some time.

(Yeah, I'm back. Here goes nothing.)
Chapter two
Jax
Everything went white. All around me I could hear yelling and fighting and gunshots.
"Claire, get Jax!" I heard Tyler yell. Suddenly I felt someone grab me, followed the the sensation of being lifted.
"What the f-"
"Don't worry, I'll get outta here." I heard a voice say, a female Australian voice.
"Claire? What's going on, I can't see a thing."
"I'm really not sure. For now just hold on, you're kinda heavy and it takes a lot of focus to keep us in the air." That's when I realized how hot it was. Oh my God, Claire was flying! I wrapped my arms around her neck and held on for dear life.

"Alright, I want an explanation, and I want it now!" I yelled at Tyler.
My vision had returned and Claire, Tyler, Estelore, and myself were all standing in an abandoned church. One filled with weapons and computer equipment.
"I'm not the one you should be asking." Tyler said, nodding towards Estelore. I turned to her and looked directly into her eyes, those strange eyes that shouldn't be.
"I must admit that this has all gone a bit wrong." She said with a sigh. "This experiment was meant to give this planet some protection from... Well that's a conversation for a later time." She trailed off.
"What experiment?"
"I attempted to create a Quoltec loop." She said.
"A what?" Claire said.
"It is a way to bring forth certain traits in individuals, traits that they imagine themselves having. Unfortunately, because of what it is, it can also bring forth some... undesirable conseqences."
"You mean to tell me you created something that brings fictional things to life?" I half-yelled.
"I suppose that would be a way of putting it I suppose." Estelore said calmly.
"So that's how I got my super powers." Claire commented.
"Why is Claire the only one with-" I was cut off when Tyler shifted his form right in front of me. I nearly had a heart attack. Instinctively I put my hands on my chest.
"As you can tell, it's not just Claire." He said. But I wasn't listening, I wa a bit focused on my heatbeat, or rather heatbeats. I looked up a Estelore.
"I'm not..." I said. She shrugged.
"The loop effects different people differently. It made you a Time Lord. But there's more. The reason Teslar wanted you was because the loop has centered itself on you."
"What?!"
"It's possible that this may bring about somethings from your mind."
"Oh my God! We have to get Jayne!" I said.
"Your friend is a controller, Jax. Visser 2's host at that." Tyler said.
"You don't understand. If things from my mind are coming true, then Jayne is going to become a center for supernatural energy. If Teslar figures out how to control it... Well it's going to be very bad for everyone."

Great to have you back Jax! I love this chapter by the way; the idea of bringing fiction to life (literally) has always appealed to me. I know if I was in your place and things from my mind started becoming real, then things would get seriously weird! :P
